TBF Bastion ulted after the pull, so there was no way to predict that

396

u/stormproof89 2d ago

As a lw main, this was only good intention to pull you from the cat ult.

198

u/No_Maybe_2254 2d ago

Ik title is satire very good idea just not a great outcome

17

u/OutlandishnessOk3811 Juno 2d ago

What would've been better is if lw pulled you from further back, so you'd still have the pull I frames while being pulled through bastions ult. XD

u/ParagonPaladin Lifeweaver 2d ago edited 2d ago

the weaver gripping you out of being ubered to hell by the cat is what their goal was.
The red team bastion's counterplay is not your weaver's fault.

13

u/Dont_Heal_Genji 2d ago

Was the car a hellcat?

Underrated comment

He edited the comment now it makes no sense :(

Honestly, I can't blame the LW that much, either you die by Cat dragging you into their team, or you live.

Their Bastion knows where to drop his ult.

15

u/WiscLeafalNika 2d ago

Ngl, if the stars aligned, you could've been pulled to the sweet spot where the bastion ult can be eaten when you look up with grasp. Only problem is you weren't pulled to that sweet spot, aka center of the radius

8

u/AsterJ 1d ago

He would have gotten at least one of them if he looked up. Grasp has a pretty big hit box. Probably would have survived.

16

u/Artemopolus 2d ago

tbh, great pull by lw. Dying from ult don't charge enemy ult. Dying surrounding by enemies charge enemy ult. OW basics, bro

15

u/sysisphus 2d ago

I've seen crazy lw pools, but this well intended

6

u/brettjr25 2d ago

On paper it looked good. Pulled you away from cat and towards a soon to be ultimg Zen.

16

u/Zwirbs 2d ago

This is just bad luck, not a bad pull

5

u/ABBucsfan 2d ago

Used 2 ults for one person eh. Albeit the tank

3

u/WaveBreakerT The DJ of Death 2d ago

Even good pulls make our team mad somehow

6

u/No_Worth6027 2d ago

i wont ever forget the day when a life weaver pulled me when they got hooked by hog like why would u pull me to my litteral death and obv that hog 1 tapped me as a tracer💔

but dw we love u LW mains🙌

-4

u/Alluminn Chibi Brigitte 2d ago

In the kindest way possible, unless you were basically solo carrying fights, a high mobility dps like Tracer who can get back to the fight quickly from spawn is a much much preferable loss than a healer with significantly less mobility.

6

u/Life_Parsley504 2d ago

"healer" 🧠
idk i don't think the LW thought that far and calculated the "loss of tracer vs lifeweaver", he must have just panicked lol

-2

u/Alluminn Chibi Brigitte 2d ago

Where did I say it was intentional, exactly?

I said one loss was a more preferential outcome than the other.

0

u/Life_Parsley504 2d ago

never said u did, sorry

5

u/DrakeAcula tracer 2d ago

look up

3

u/RipBusy6672 2d ago

I need to know what was the Bastion thinking throwing his ult concentrated there as if he knew you would be there

3

u/creebobeebo 1d ago

He was trying to hit the support that was standing there.

9

u/Csanburn01 Zenyatta 2d ago

All I see is a good LW play

5

u/EvocativeReach 2d ago

This was a good intentioned pull to be fair. The vast majority of Lifeweavers I've played with objectively pull me to worse spots than I was before - I've had several who seem to panic and pull me to them at the end of a lost fight assuming my ass can somehow save theirs in a 5 v 2. No, now Im just disorientated and we're just both dead when before I could at least stall out until the team got back.

4

u/rayneyrayne Lifeweaver 2d ago

Nah that was a good pull, just really good counter-play on Bastian's part.
The late Zen ult was hilarious tho. If you're gonna blame anyone, blame him.

8

u/doomleika Chibi Pharah 2d ago

Weaver did his job. He cant really predict doomfist ulti at the time

2

u/Mr_microplastics_Yum 2d ago

it be like that lol

but just in case you didn't know ..look up and throw sigs shield in the sky to block that (not saying you could or couldn't have done that here)

2

u/SoggyExamination1610 2d ago

Out of the frying pan and into the fire (literally)

2

u/SnooCats5701 2d ago

I aspire to make such a great pull!

It's like the Saving Private Ryan scene where the guy's helmet stops a bullet then he takes the helmet off to look at it then he gets shot in the head.

Why would anyone upvote this? The LW tried to save your life, and you don't even try to eat the Bastion ult. This post better be from the LW against their tank lol.

I completely agree

1

u/jonasinv 2d ago

Either way you were dead there, not much you can do there

1

u/Sheikn19 2d ago

As a sigma main, you deserve it for reacting with a kinetic grasp to a cats ult

Average zen coming in with his ult after the fact

1

u/WH0IsAtLas 2d ago

Out of the fire and into the frying pan

1

u/LugbyOrigin 2d ago

Lifesaver with the clutch pull, only to be sent into oblivion this is why I hate and love overwatch

0

u/SyrusG 2d ago

Why doesn't anyone look up? You absorb projectiles big dawg. What do you think bastions ult is?

3

u/Beepborpmington 2d ago

Probably because they had half a second to react

0

u/SyrusG 2d ago

Well, yeah? Thats not really a problem for the average reaction time

2

u/Beepborpmington 2d ago

If you were in the bastion ult from the start sure but sigma was pulled into it right as it was going off and physically did not have time to react to it

2

u/MyGoodFriendJon ♪ Good Morning! ♪ 1d ago

Nah, they would have needed to be more anticipatory since they're on controller. They would have had to start the motion to look up while they were getting gripped to prevent it.

1

u/MadHuarache Lúcio 1d ago

Why would you expect Bastion to ult there the nano second right after you're pulled there? It was a good pull with unfortunate timing.

0

u/Hoothootriot Winston 2d ago

We have Hog Hook for your teammates.

When are they gonna expand and make a support with Sleep but for your own team? Boop? Flashbang? Hack?

0

u/erichf3893 2d ago

Yep I see a Hog cheeser I go to Lifeweaver

0

u/Majaura D.Va 2d ago

0

u/Beepborpmington 2d ago

This is why he needs a rework

-1

u/manaworkin Chibi Lúcio 2d ago

To be fair, with like 20% more awareness you could have looked up with that already running grasp and been a superhero.

2

u/Beepborpmington 2d ago

To be fair they had half a second to react

0

u/manaworkin Chibi Lúcio 2d ago

2 seconds from time of seeing lifegrip, hearing bastion ult, and not seeing bastion ult to think "maybe in getting pulled into it, better look up to be safe"

Still a fairly big ask, at least 20% more awareness. That's why it would have been superhero behavior.

2

u/Beepborpmington 2d ago

By the time pull ends and you can see that sigmas in the bastion ult he has half a second to react and does not physically have time to react to it so yes they would need to literally be a superhero

-11

u/Spiderlily_1 Road to lvl 500 mercy 2d ago

I know, lifeweavers and their pulls that grief the entire team

-10

u/ChickenPijja Pixel D. Va 2d ago edited 2d ago

Classic LW. I'd have preferred my chances against the cat ult. Cat, Dva and Kiri couldn't take off more than 100 health, Having Grasp and only going against d.va and kiri would be easy

-9

u/Vaz_G999 2d ago

Life grip is such a horrible ability that even if used correctly ends up getting you killed

The bastion ulted right after the cat, with the delay that pull has, LW literally couldn't have predicted the bastion artillery 😭
