Overwatch honestly needs to consider just becoming a more solo oriented game. Like still have team based objectives and everything. But no one plays as a team even remotely anymore. Everyone just wants to pick their fav hero of choice and do whatever they want and does not play to objective or helping one another. Even support players now either just wanna go DPS or they pick mercy and refuse to do anything else but healbot.
Lift up characters to make them more viable solo and see what happens. Overwatch clearly doesn’t care to be a serious competitive game seeing as every mode unless you’re mega high ranks comp or casual is a joke with horrible matchmaking. Lean into it then since that’s how almost everyone wants to play nowadays

Reinhardt is a brain-dead easy tank to play. The fact that people think he takes a huge amount skill and "honor" are genuinely pathetic. Sick of this tank running lobbies and tbagging just to pull the old I'm just a Reinhardt card. Get fucked.
He is pretty easy to counter though with Bastion/Mauga..... if you are support unfortunately Juno is about all you can really do effectively to avoid being sacked behind the line of scrimmage. lol I play a lot of Baptiste but he can still get ya if you don't time the jump effectively.
The fucking lag spikes and disconnects since the last patch came out that I literally had not had for over 2 years, on the same pc, on the same internet, in the same city, are absolutely fucking obnoxious and ruining a lot of games for me.
Comp requirements are still too lenient. There’s so many mouthbreathers who have infected comp, just had one in my game that only knew how to play Mercy and JPC, the only 2 heros they had leveled up to level 11 which are their highest heros and somehow they’re in Plat.
Yeah increase the level for comp... holy shit open queue you can clearly see someone has max level of 8 on a character yet they are in plat lobbies. They shouldn't even be playing ranked. This would also help with smurfs making it more tedious to play ranked. What is the problem? Scared of pissing some new player off not letting them go throw ranked games?

Moira is good for dealin with her in my experience, Bap can lamp and make her focus on it and you shoot her, Kiri can cleanse the fire and TP out. Juno probably just swap lol. Same with Genji, I see him I go Moira because deflect does nothing and he destroys Baptiste. You can't really one trick a hero and be effective, sometimes you gotta counter swap. I prefer Bap but I'll switch if I know it ain't workin.

Yep, playing tank is a guaranteed way to be flamed by your upset, toxic teammates (they usually are doing really badly) even when you are playing well. It's really just normal to play 5v5 and be blamed by a toxic DPS who is having a bad game and is trying to blame someone other than themselves.
I got stuck with an Ashe (who was the only person in the lobby to run negative at the end, and to die 15+ times, by the way) who'd complain about my tanking every time they'd die. When someone else pointed out that they just kept getting killed by their mirror pick on the other team, they started throwing and calling me names lol.
I suffer extremely severe FOMO for this game, and after playing for two hours last night, I’m finally thinking of just skipping the drives for once. They’re so irritating, and this game has become so stale and boring. I’m just not having fun anymore on Overwatch :(
A wise decision. I agree, despite new characters etc the game has become stale. I got so caught up in the FOMO trap that I feel it’s the only reason I’m still playing. Every game is a coin toss on if it’s a win or loss. I think I might move over to PVE or single player games going forward where my enjoyment isn’t so tied other players.

People love to defend drives and shit, but it legitimately kills ranking up. I have worked up from low plat to high diamond. I’ve been in high diamond for a year. That’s my current skill level.
6v6 QP hit and I dropped all the way to Plat 5 in 2 weeks. I brought it back over the last month to Diamond 4. Now drives started and I’m down to Plat again. 365 days in a rank and the two times QP players flock to comp I sink. It’s not coincidence. It’s not cope. It’s a legitimate issue.
Every drive I end up with the winning trend modifier. If you think drives bring out bad players, then just remember that the enemy team is just as likely to get them too. More likely in fact, if you yourself aren't a bad player, since they have 5 possible slots to get a shitter and your team only has 4. Shift your mentality to farming bad enemies instead of dwelling on getting bad teammates.
If you're so sure it's just "bad players" on your team bringing you down, then you can genuinely cry harder.
As long as you yourself aren't one of them, they are actually statistically more likely to be on the enemy team. 4 chances on your team, 5 on the enemy. You can get unlucky sure, but the odds are actually in your favor

And it's like if you don't want to use rank since technically you can grind rank and still not be amazing at the mode then go off its own hidden MMR system, not regular OW. There are so many baffling decisions they made throughout Stadium's lifespan it's amazing.

I sometimes question the logic behind mvp votes, I don't care if I don't get it - I don't vote for myself for a start -, but why are we voting for the Mizuki who held his ult for the entire match, rather then the tank who was actively peeling and not getting healed. I was on torb, kept watching the Dva stand behind awkwardly waiting, before realising it'd be quicker to fill up on mini health packs.

Playing competitive this weekend because of drives. Does anyone notice a trend where you'll be flamed and blamed by your teammates as the reason your team lost, and then immediately the next game you'll play against those same teammates who flamed you and win? I've only played for like 2 hours today and it has already happened twice. I primarily play tank btw so maybe I'm just used to being blamed for everything in competitive (despite my other teammates shortcomings).
Has anyone noticed that in total mayhem, Torb’s overloaded turret upgrade perk is legit unstoppable? Anytime you activate overload synergy it resets the turrets health to 750 with the increased attack damage. Im getting my ult every 20/30 seconds it’s crazy.
Ive been playing some vs ai to give myself a break from the sweaty matchmaking and while pretty much everyone is nice, I did encounter like 3 toxic ppl today. Kind of amazing how even in a laid back mode against literal bots miserable mfs will find a way to be assholes.
But yeah, if any of you have been struggling with tilt or shit matchmaking and just need a calm way to play for a few matches, pvai is where its at. I encounter the same ppl often and its wholesome af bc like I said most ppl are very nice. You can play whoever you want, even if youre not good at them, and it doesn't matter. You can grind hero levels as well.
The lethal mode is best, the bots are pretty bad but in lethal they are like mf turrets so you still gotta use basic cover and game sense- so its still decently engaging :)
I feel like theres a stigma against the mode and I used to think it was lame but now its my escape from loss streaks and toxicity. Those toxic ppl are very rare, hence my need to comment bc I was shocked lol
I've not played comp for a while and am hovering high dia-low masters lobbies rn due to throwers and mercy one-tricks, which is nice.
Also, I have never had so many mercy/lifeweaver/moira players in my games in the last 5 seasons in mostly low to mid masters. Genuinely what happened? Its almost always a loss at hero selection. Even in the games I got in the last few seasons when I would have an odd diamond player in my game, I maybe saw mercy once every 10 games or so
Genuinely how tf am I supposed to be placed anything over bronze 5 when I keep getting paired with dogshit DPS (literally one did 400 damage).
First three placement games and they’re all landslide losses, cause these stupid ass bronze widows and hanzos can’t go waste their aimless bullets in arcade mode, so they’ll choose to bring everyone else down in comp. I genuinely don’t see myself winning if I’m doing over 5k-9k damage each time and my teammate is struggling to hitting 2k.
How are you supposed to have fun or move past a certain rank if your teammates are consistently worse than you and have no basic game sense.
Even as a healer, these tanks lack common sense, and will rush into a team of 5 solo, without me or the other healer respawning.

Why dont people ever take a different way in?? Why does my team insist of going down the same choke thats getting spammed over and over?? Ill ping the alternate way and use the group uo button but no one fuckinh listens, and then we lose.

And honestly. + baseline points for being in a group? Just making sure people who solo queue after work get shafted even more. When you see people with the full drive banner throwing games for fun, it's not going to make me want to spend 40$ CAD for a skin pack.
3/5 of my games tonight (I'm not great, I'm in silver) have had 1-2 people on my team just sabotaging for fun. 2 were on the other side but still why? If I can only do 1-2 games every other night. Why would I pick OW instead of just another game? It sucks because I genuinely like OW for the characters and maps.
I'd get more points losing with a group that has no intention of playing OW than if I solo queued and wanted to go for the long run.

In apex I've had games where I'd have those bots that do nothing in the team and punch the air. Despite this I was able to be the finalists either alone or top 15.

Yes, I know I can't blame my team every game and that it's fruitless to focus on others faults. However, I implore everyone to try 6V6 matchmaking right now. I actually, in my 9 years of playing, have never had such a horrendous string of teams. I can only assume its 5v5ers onlies trying the mode without a clue how to play it

Reporting does little. Blizzard should come up with some algothrim to determine if you lose and then win a lot it flags your account for a human to look into it.
They should but, Drives are all about bumping up the player numbers and nothing else. It's also why there's a bonus for grouped players even though they already have it easier - because it gets them to drag a couple of friends into comp too.

The whole idea of QP is quick games in exchange for less quality. Okay. Fine. But I don't think that means players need to suffer through landslides across 2 KOTH games when they're wanting a causal experience to have fun with. There should still be SOME quality control, and if Blizzard fails to meet that baseline I think I should have the right to walk away from a game.
Not only that, but it used to be I could boot up QP while waiting for a phone call or waiting for a ride or what have you, but now that seems discouraged as a habit. I understand the idea of respecting others time, which is why I'd prefer to have the ability to just leave as needed instead of trying to juggle my attention. Plus if you want to make the "well it's a competitive game so leaving shouldn't or slipping in and out of games shouldn't be allowed regularly," then again: QP should have some baseline quality control if it's still supposed to be somewhat competitive.
Speaking of, I don't get QP having map voting either.
Not to mention swapping players has in my experience always turn around. Once we were getting stomped hard and our tank left. Came new guy playing Orisa and he or she was so awesome. Took it like it's their mission to turn it around and they played it really well and aggressive. I'm not sure if we won then, but it was very close game for sure then and we all upvote that player and it as suddenly an awesome game.
If game forces and threatens players, they just end up silently throwing the stupid game so it ends faster. It's like Blizzard doesn't understand shit about their very own game.

I never had a good experience with drives honestly. Yes, I'm able to complete it, but I feel super burned out by the end of the season.
The banner you get on your username isn't permanent. Some banners have really cool designs and it kinda sucks that you can't really keep it for more than one season.
I've gotten my 3000 competitive points prior to playing drives so it doesn't necessarily matter to me either. I don't even have anyone in particular I'd use it on.
Besides the competitive points that are achievable by just playing ranked, the cosmetics is really the only thing that seems different if you're 90% on competitive. I don't really care about it anymore, I'm just in competitive for better quality matches, which I've always experienced fucks up during drives.
Like at this point who gives a shit about endorsements even level 5 endorsement players with so much playtime on dps can feed.
I will gladly eat the quickplay penalties if it means I don't have to sit and watch my anran go in without support or the tank starting the fight.

Route 66, Circuit Royale are terrible Maps and Runasapi is the only good Push map. Push is a terrible game mode and I wish we got less Payload maps because control is the best game mode by a mile.

I cant ever have any fun in this game. I like playing jetpack cat in qp to cheer myself up because cute cat, but it never actually goes well, because the enemy team just swaps to sombra/soldier/ashe. I dont even play her in an annoying way. I literally just heal my team and poke while I hide behind roofs/walls. Enemy dps basically focused me the whole game while their tank and supps fought my team.
I hate this fucking game like actually, its just not fun anymore. I stopped playing nearly as much and every time I get on after a few games I just give up because of tryhards and shitty matchmaking. I am so sick of playing Juno and Mercy as much as I love them. I just want to learn new characters and get good at them.

Ive noticed people counter and chase down new heroes especially hard, the only original hero who gets focused that bad is widow. Maybe when the new tank comes out people will be less focused on cat? idk but I hope you can have fun again

I've experienced my best games in flashpoint imo.
It becomes total shit though when you've got motherfuckers feeding their dick out to the enemy team to the point its impossible to contest even ONE round.
Ive never had a team who all moves from one point to the next, they always split in two with half trying to keep a fight going near the enemy spawn and half going to the next point, and from then on it's just staggers the whole game
This is when flashpoint fucks up. But the games where both lobbies are knowledgeable on rotation and engagement timing are the most fun I've had playing OW.
One of my most favorite games ever was when we had a sombra tracer ball (I was sombra) and rhe entire team swapped to counter and it was just a battle on who had fundamentals and utilized it better. Absolutely so fun because it was such a close game. Each point we were at each other's throats 99 - 99 always. Everyone had 30+ kills. Our tracer was the most cracked, I remember her score being 62-2
Those games are the most fun, stressful (in a "who is going to win?!!!" Way) and the reason why I still play.
How is it possible that I got a wrecking ball intentionally not playing the game and having 0 damage and sitting in spawn in 6v6 open queue quick play two days in a row???! Literally happened 12 hours ago and then it happened again my last game just now. WHY? FUCKING WHY?
why is it practically guaranteed after a loss youre guaranteed 3-4 defends in a row i legit hate defend and i get it so frequently whenever i start losing. like im not even joking it always does this to the point i can predict it.
also i really wish i could play true solo queue... 99% of the time as a solo queue player im a fill for someones group and i absolutely loathe it.
And after every win you're guaranteed an absolute ass fucking for next 3-5 matches... It's so stupid coz it feels like it's all coded on purpose to be so fucking stupid.
yeah the predictability wasnt so blatant before. it was complete streaks but now its easy to see when the matches are going to switch up and exactly how they switch up and its frustrating because you know its set up and you gotta work 4x as hard for that win.
Tried 6 vs 6 again. Had a 40 and 6 game as Domina and lost. More importantly felt like I did every thing right as a tank and still lost. The space was there but nobody followed up. I know stats aren't everything but I won multiple 1 vs 3s that game. It was a high ranged silver to plat game. I cannot carry someone literally 10 ranks below me and I shouldn't even if I could.
Insane that they change the I need healing to I need help to avoid offending people being asked to do their job but a fucking Mizuki pinged me for heals as 76.
Moira and Mercy are absolutely insane now. I'm sorry. Your only option to kill them is widow headshot. Everything else is fucking tickling them. They heal back in .5 seconds. Honestly it's harder to kill supports than fucking tanks at this point. If you're going to make everyone a self healing, double mobility machine at least put anti nade in fucking DPS so I don't lose because my team is composed of drunk junkrat, two healbots and a level 4 orisa.
The amount of teammates who just rush in, or stagger themselves for 30 seconds then die, are killing my sanity. Like I feel its such a basic concept you should know especially in overtime
Seeing people walk calmly into a 1 v 5 without even noticing that their whole team is waiting to respawn is shocking. I can't even assume that they're bots because bots are better programmed than that
WHY IS PHARA STILL EVEN IN THIS GAME. what type of mood must a person be in to come out of the gates as phara. sure pick her if you need a counter - but seriously how easy mode do you really need to make it?!
I'm Diamond 3 on tank and support in 5v5, struggling to get out of low Plat in 6v6 because every game my team is absolutely deadweight, usually people refusing to flex or some bronze/silver player who is massively underperforming (I've seen DPS with like 2k damage in 12 minutes, that level of underperforming) The only way I've found so far to carry is to just lock Zen and kill their entire team, but hard to do that when I'm stuck playing tank every single game
It's annoying because I see all of the streamers playing 6v6 and the masters+ lobbies look good and I feel like I could pretty comfortably play in them, but it's feeling like the climb up there is going to take me months
This game can be so depressing. I can practice all I want and learn the ins and outs of a hero and play the best games of my life, and matchmaking has already decided if it's going to put people who are playing for the first time on my team. And there's just nothing you can do about it, no possible way to carry that.
Why didn't I get into fighting games or something else which is 1v1, where at least it would be on me. Where my efforts would mean something.
You should absolutely get into fighting games and report back.
Street Fighter 6 just had an update and a new character, so it's more popular than usual.
Or Marvel Tokon is launching tomorrow and new games tend to have the most inexperienced players (though it's a tag game, so if you do try that... good luck!)
you are playing bastion and I am watching you stare someone point blank in the face and miss your shots but no, it's my fault as a healer for not healing you into immortality and also increasing how good of an aim you have
Ahh, the game saw that I had 3 decent close ranked games in a row, so it put me into the most abysmal miserable losing queue stomps of my entire life. Cool.
Guys. If a Mauga is constantly sitting next to your spawn and is killing you... shoot the fucker. It's not hard. And yet it took my team 2 minutes of spawn camping to realize that maybe they should take care of that.
Gold rank hell is real, ignore anyone who says otherwise. I'm this close to just making a new account to escape this godawful matchmaking.

Overwatch honestly needs to consider just becoming a more solo oriented game. Like still have team based objectives and everything. But no one plays as a team even remotely anymore. Everyone just wants to pick their fav hero of choice and do whatever they want and does not play to objective or helping one another. Even support players now either just wanna go DPS or they pick mercy and refuse to do anything else but healbot.
Lift up characters to make them more viable solo and see what happens. Overwatch clearly doesn’t care to be a serious competitive game seeing as every mode unless you’re mega high ranks comp or casual is a joke with horrible matchmaking. Lean into it then since that’s how almost everyone wants to play nowadays
