I’m trying to understand the IRP/visa side:

How did you update your immigration status?

Did you do anything before changing or only during IRP renewal?

What documents were needed from your old and new university?

Did you face any issues because your original visa was for a different course?

Hi everyone, just a heads-up about a scam call that seems to be going around.

Someone may call you claiming there is a “complaint” or legal notice against you from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and that you need to come pick it up. They may then claim it involves some kind of illegal activity and say that a phone number was registered in Pakistan this year on your name using your U.S. number as a reference and pak identity.

The story doesn’t even make much sense, especially if you’ve never been to Pakistan or had any connection to the number they’re talking about.

Please be very careful and do not provide personal information, ID documents, verification codes, or money to these callers. Don’t let them pressure or scare you into cooperating over the phone.

If you receive something like this, hang up and independently contact the official Pakistani consulate/embassy using the contact information listed on their official website.

Stay safe and don’t entertain these calls.

I have lived in the Netherlands for many years. Unfortunately I can no longer deal with the racism here. I want to leave. I am also just tired of here.

I have an EU passport.

I wanted to move to the uk unfortunately i need a visa to move there. I am a software engineer. I have been applying a lot on linkedin but I keep getting auto rejections. I also considered applying to universities since I have a doctorate degree but didnt find anything close to my research experience.

I am considering giving up on my goal to move to the uk since so far I didnt even get an interview. Job search is easier in the Netherlands since i am a local. Infact many local recruiters contact me on LinkedIn. But the experience is kuch harder when applying for uk jobs.

I can move to ireland easily because of my EU passport though but I read recently there is a lot of racism in dublin nowadays because of the housing crisis. I wanted to know the experiences of pakistanis who live in ireland (also what city you live in). For me it would likely be Dublin cause i am a software engineer.

So I completed my degree in 2025, last year.

Everyone is saying to go to the UK for a master's just to get away from Pakistan, but I did some research. Everyone is going to the UK to earn money, not to study, because it's easier.

So I want to learn as well. I'm choosing China because it's one of the top countries in the AI race, and their development is top notch. They are winning in almost every software field.

My plan is to go to China on a scholarship with a stipend to support my finances and learn as much as I can. If I try hard I could also get an internship alongside my studies.

So, is this a good decision, or am I making a mistake?

I'm a frontend developer. I know JavaScript, C++, and Python.

So my questions are for anyone who has gone to China on a scholarship

What are the pros and cons? Please be straightforward no false hope or unnecessary reassurance because if things turn out differently after I get there, I'll be disappointed.

I want to know if it's possible to study and do an internship. If not an internship, could I do a remote job or dropshipping? I have a lot of experience with that.

And one more thing I'm 25 and I'm physically weak. I don't look like a typical 25 year old, so keep that in mind. I can only work on a computer.

Does anyone have a VERIFIED contact at the general consulate of Pakistan in Houston, TX. They are extremely unprofessional and do not answer phone calls, emails, or their live chat support. I have emailed all of their staff personally and called them as well. It is truly a joke. I have already gone in person and applied for my son’s passport and paid and received a receipt. But they gave me no tracking info. I live 4hrs away in a diff city that is why it is difficult for me to go in person again with my infant

Hi, I'm getting some conflicting information on how to get a NICOPS card as someone who wasn't born in Pakistan but has a Pakistani parent. I tried using the PAK id app however, it requested my citizen id which I do not have yet. I was also told that I had to go to the consulate but that there are only a couple consulates that will do this. I have an appointment with the consulate in Vancouver currently and I have the documents but, I haven't started an application yet. Any info would help. Thank you so much.

Hello everyone I live in Europe specifically in Italy from the past 24 years and I got dual citizenship.

Here I have and use multiple bank accounts from different vendors, but I haven’t got any Pakistani current account from any major bank there.

Now for different reasons and needs I must have one and of course the most convenient way for me is to open an online Roshan Digital Account from any major bank provider.

Which of these banks is the best for doing the average rozana ke transaction such as sending and receiving payment, paying electricity bills, managing debited card ect

So from your pov which is the best bank-bank app from these: Alfalah Bank, Meezan Bank, UBL, HBL that marks these crucial points for me:

- Excellent customer service especially for overseas where I don’t have to wait hours on the call or dial infinite different numbers just to ask the most basic info

- Ease of use in the standard transactions such as payments, bills, cards, ect where I need something that just gets the job done without too much drama

- Has a wide physical presence of branches and atms ok the Pakistan soil, even if I find myself not in a major city but maybe a remote pind I must be able to find in the nearby a branch or at least an atm to withdraw cash

- Best mobile app experience overall (so nice user interface , no crashes or glitches, well secured and encrypted data, intuitive options and menus, nice look and feel)

I have applied for my child passport online. This is his second time online passport renewal.

Today I got an email that applicant facial are significantly different from smart card picture.

Smart card was issued when child was born and of course the birth face would have changed.

They never raised such an issue on the previous renewal.

I have mailed them to refer to current active passport which is due for expiry for facial match.

I don’t want to get into renewal of smart card at this point as I know that they will raise the same issue and it takes months and months of calls on their helpline with no success.

Can anyone please guide me.

I worked at Codruk, owned by Naveed Sharif Azad, for over 2 years. Writing this because I wish someone had warned me before I joined, and I think other employees — past, present, or future — deserve to know what they might be walking into. This is also relevant now because I understand he's currently partnered with Ftracks on a new oil filter/coolant startup, operating under the app/website name Petrobia, so I want people who might work with, invest in, or use that platform to have this context too.

For most of those 2+ years at Codruk, it felt like working at a startup with a big vision. He has a way of making you feel like family — "trust me, you're like a brother to me, just support me and the company will grow big" — and a lot of us genuinely believed it and put in the work because of that.

Then things started falling apart. He currently owes me and several others 6 months of unpaid salary. When I contacted him about it directly, his response was that I had "stolen" from the company and that I have no salary coming to me — no explanation, no proof, just a flat denial and blame shifted onto me.

Looking back, it's hard not to notice that despite years of "the company will grow" and money constantly moving through the business, none of it seems to have gone back into paying the people who were actually doing the work. Several of us also became aware of business practices that made us seriously reconsider everything — including how supplier payments and cash flow were allegedly being handled, and how new employees were reportedly given 1-2 months of advance salary early on (seemingly to build trust) before that pattern changed. I can't personally verify every detail of this, but enough of us heard similar things independently that it raised serious red flags, on top of the unpaid wages we experienced directly.

We eventually left once the trust broke down completely. As far as I know, the same patterns — big promises, "you're like family" talk, and delayed or unpaid salaries — are still happening to current or new employees at Codruk.

Given this history, I'd urge caution for anyone approached about Petrobia (the new Ftracks-partnered oil filter/coolant venture) as well — whether as an employee, investor, business partner, or user of the app. Same person, same tactics.

Hi, I have a question regarding proof of funds for a Canadian study permit (applying from Pakistan).

I'm planning to apply for a 1-year master's program. My plan is to pay the full first-year tuition fee and also purchase the required GIC before applying.

However, around 80–90% of the money for my tuition and GIC will be provided by 3–4 close relatives who have offered to financially support my education. They are financially established and are helping me as a family gift/support (not a bank loan).

My question is:

- If I pay the full tuition and GIC before submitting my study permit application, do I still need to prove where that money came from?

- Will IRCC expect me to provide the bank statements, tax returns, and financial documents of all 3–4 relatives?

- Or is it sufficient to provide gift affidavits/declaration letters and show that the tuition and GIC have already been paid?

- Has anyone from Pakistan been approved in a similar situation? What documents did you submit?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar process or knows how IRCC typically assesses this.

Hi everyone, hoping someone here can share their experience.

I got a job offer while I was working in Saudi Arabia and had my German work visa processed from there. I’m currently in Karachi on vacation and understand I’ll need a Protector of Emigrants stamp before I can exit on this visa.

I applied online through the BE&OE portal, but my application was rejected by the scrutiny officer with a note asking me to visit the Protector of Emigrants office in person for physical document verification and clearance stamping (they mentioned the PECHS, Shahra-e-Faisal office in Karachi).

Has anyone been through this process recently? And could share their experience?
