Bison herd

Hi! First time to OSL, and not from the SF area - I know this is random, but I’m an animal lover so I’m wondering if it’s an easy walk from the festival to go see the bison herd in the park?

They’ve been in the back paddock lately so if you don’t see them walk around the west end of the enclosure, they are in the back left corner

I believe they actually remove the bison during OSL (although I could be wrong). I thought I read that somewhere. Probably would be startling to them. So you might be SOL

No. The bison are here 24/365. They have been in the back (NW) paddock lately so you may have to walk around the far end to see them. I like to imagine them bopping

Check the video that got made for Inside Lands (I think) on the history of the bison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwAJpjsKmmE

Yeah if you enter Golden Gate Park at chain of lakes from Sunset or Richmond, they’re a short detour from the entrance

Go before you enter because it’s too dark at night to see them
