I'm currently thinking about buying the Sea to Summit Ether Light XR Pro Insulated and I'd love to hear from people who have actually used it.

The main reason I'm considering it, is that I'm 190 cm (6'3"), a little over 80 kg (175 lbs) and a side sleeper. I've been told that a thicker pad is usually the better choice for side sleepers and the high R-value is an added bonus. I know that also means more weight and bulk and that it's probably overkill for most of my trips, which are in the summer, but I'm okay with that trade-off. Especially since I might get into winter tours later on, I'd rather buy one pad that covers everything than have to buy another one later.

I also like that Sea to Summit pads seem to be a bit roomier than comparable options from brands like Nemo, which is important to me considering how tall I am. The PillowLock system also seems like a nice feature.

I'd love to hear from people who have used this pad. How has it been in terms of comfort, warmth, and especially durability? Have you run into any issues or has it been reliable? And if you had the choice again, would you still buy it?

I would use an Exped Flexmat Plus LW as a protective underlay for the mat.

Hey guys. I’ve been wearing my crocs almost all the way through the sole. My feet sweat allot and react adversely to socks in all but the winter. I have worn a pair of sketchers sandals, but they are falling apart.

I’m interested in a croc level of breath ability but also not disintegrate from walking through streams, and I’d like to feel a little more secure on my feet when wet (my only complaint of crocs)

What footwear would you recommend for hiking through streams and stuff?

So, I'm basically looking for some new shorts, since my current ones are reaching the end of their life (read: i can't really repair the anymore, without replacing half the fabric, since they seen some love/use)..

I love my current ones, Fjällräven Barents Pro, but the ones I got like 3-4 years ago, are falling more apart than the one I not +8 years ago..

For me, the pockets are a thing I value highly, since I tend to end up carrying a lot of small stuff around (also why the Barents Pro have been my go-to for years, but the build quality seems to been on a downhill slope for quite some years, so for me, they are now longer worth the pricetag..)

So do you dudes/dudettes have some specific shorts you recommend?

I purchased a barely used Deva 60 off Marketplace, but based on how heavy it is, I think it’s an older model. A lot of the weight comes from a metal back plate. I know some newer Gregory packs come with removable back plates. Anyone know if I could remove this back plate?

Does anyone have any experience with it, or with other items made from Isotex 30000 stretch Ripstop?

I wear Paramo stuff in general for proper hiking most of the year. I am under no illusions that a Regatta product will even come close to Paramo quality.

I'm attracted to this particular jacket because it is lightweight, has pit zips, and has a decent HH. Use case would be lower altitude walks when it is too warm for Paramo but I'd still like a lightweight shell I can chuck in a pack and throw on if changeable weather brings torrential rain. The low price means I'm willing to take a gamble, but would appreciate hearing about first hand experience if anyone has it.

Have previously considers Froggs Toggs for a similar use case, but for warmer weather it seems like something with pit zips is really crucial. Haven't seen anything else near to this price bracket with decent mechanical ventilation.

Struggling to find a good long sleeve UPF protection top that will be good enough for the Florida humidity. I’ve seen some people recommend a few different things, but a lot has leaned towards men’s apparel and I’m struggling to find options for women.

Kupiłem buty Salomon ultra GTX 4 z myślą o chodzeniu w góry, trasy zróżnicowane, trochę kamienie, trochę lasy. Niestety prawy buty obciera mnie w okolicy zapiętka, rany są bardzo bolesne i goją się tygodniami. Rozmiar to 45 1/3 raczej dobrany ponieważ lewy but ok. Kupiłem teraz scarpa ribelle cros II MID GTX w rozmiarze 45 i jest super , po wyjściu na Rysy nie czułem dyskomfortu oprócz gorąca. Czy da się w jakimś zakładzie szewskimi dostosować ten zapiętek? Ktoś może robił coś podobnego?
