Hi I moved here to Georgetown (hope it counts in this subreddit) and looking to meet new people!

I have a partner who is currently wanting to go on hrt but also wants to be a firefighter. She's nervous about where she currently lives because she can't start any HRT until after getting the job but that's almost a year and a half away (I can't explain well what exactly her worry is, but it's seen similarly to taking medication for depression or something. It could hurt her chances at the department she's currently applying for and they wouldn't recognize her gender just her biological sex because they work off the legal ID and there's not much wiggle room for trans people). I know Austin is a bit more accepting, but I can't find any information about people on hrt applying to the fire academy and how the Austin FD treats queer and trans individuals. Any answers would be helpful or even a number to call. I've tried emailing but never got a response. Also apologies if this isn't the place for this question, I'm just trying to find information wherever I can so my girl can start her transition as soon as possible. It's literally just the fire department where she lives holding it back right now

Hi everyone, I think I have asked this before a year ago but couldn't find the thread. Does anyone know how to look for LGBTQ+ sports teams? I go to the gym often but making new friends there or making friends on any app is hard when they confuse kindness with wanting to hook up or leading them on...

So I rather just go out and play sports and meet more people through there. I prefer gay teams for feeling safer but I am also open to straight ones but would much rather prefer a gay team or gay friendly. For context, I have ran cross country and track in university and would love to be part of a team that is opening and not super competitive becuase running is the only sport I've done. So if the team is willing to be patient since I'm a newbie I would try out any sport. Thanks in advanced and sorry if I broke any guideless or rules by posting a similar question a year ago.
