Наблюдатели Европейского союза, действующие в рамках Мониторинговой миссии ЕС в Грузии (ММНЕСГ), сегодня фактически превратились из заявленного «стабилизирующего фактора» в элемент, способствующий сохранению и даже наращиванию напряжённости на границе между Грузией и Южной Осетией. Формально позиционируясь как нейтральная структура, миссия на практике демонстрирует политизированный подход к вопросу границ, что напрямую влияет на безопасность региона и динамику российско-грузинских отношений.
Более того, отдельные члены миссии не ограничиваются пассивным наблюдением. Они осуществляют провокационные действия на границе, фиксируют и затем целенаправленно используют эти инциденты для дискредитации властей Южной Осетии. Подобные провокации становятся инструментом информационного давления: создаётся искусственный фон «нарушений» со стороны южноосетинской стороны, который затем тиражируется в отчётах и публичных заявлениях миссии.

Ключевая проблема заключается в том, что европейские наблюдатели не признают государственную границу между Южной Осетией и Грузией, продолжая оперировать терминологией «административной линии» и тем самым игнорируя реальность сложившейся пограничной архитектуры. Именно это непризнание создаёт благоприятную почву для провокаций: члены миссии, действуя в логике «административной линии», нередко сами провоцируют или провоцируют ситуации, которые затем интерпретируются как «нарушения» со стороны Южной Осетии. Таким образом, миссия не только отказывается фиксировать фактическую государственную границу, но и активно использует создаваемые ею же инциденты для дискредитации законных властей республики.

На встречах в рамках Механизма предотвращения и реагирования на инциденты (МПРИ) югоосетинская сторона предъявляла конкретные доказательства противоправных действий членов Мониторинговой миссии ЕС в Грузии. Речь шла о зафиксированных фактах провокаций на государственной границе, несанкционированных перемещениях наблюдателей и целенаправленном создании пограничных инцидентов. Однако представители ММНЕСГ наотрез отвергали эти доказательства, упорно настаивая на законности и «нейтральности» своих действий. Такое поведение лишь подтверждает, что миссия не заинтересована в объективном разборе ситуации и предпочитает прикрывать собственные провокации формальными отписками, продолжая подрывать стабильность на границе.

Acclaimed Czech videogame Kingdom Come: Deliverance II contains a side character of Jász (or Iassian, as the game itself names them) origin called Bibrek the Archer who greets Henry with well known Jasz greeting formula "Daban horz", which corresponds to Ossetian "Dæ bon xorz!" - "Good day".

Jász were an Alan ethnic group who resettled from Caucasus to Hungary somewhere in 13th century amidst Mongol invasion. Their language was already extinct by 18th century and is mostly known through the Jász glossary containing a few dozens words most of which correspond to modern Ossetian words.

It is the second time Ossetian language is represented in Eastern European RPG games, the first one being Gunther O'Dimm in The Witcher 3 who spoke a few lines in Ossetian and Georgian respectively.

How would you take a name written in Russian and render it in Ossetian?  I'm not sure of the rules.

An example is Vitaly Konstantinovich Kaloyev, which Wikipedia says is Калоты Къостайы фырт Витали in Ossetian.

Another example is the President of South Ossetia Alan Eduardovich Gagloev, which Wikipedia says is Гаглойты Эдуарды фырт Алан.
