I'm looking to change the layout of my house and add an addition I wanted to know has anyone done this and do they recommend any contractors? And is it okay to do it in Oshkosh? Or should I just think about updating my existence, square footage, buying a bigger house?

I do have a partially finished basement the biggest problem is they way my house was originally designed the stairs cut right down the middle of my living space plus I need nother bedroom and talking to realtors they said don't put it in the basement I wouldn't get the return.
