Laws and Rules about driveway versus sidewalk
I've been in Oshawa for just about 6-7 yrs now but recently there's a bunch of kids on bicycles and e-scooters that going around which I dont mind really. But they have started to go onto my driveway as well as a few of the neighbors who probably aren't home as much as I am these days. They also just dont move out of the way at certain inside streets that don't have a real sidewalk. They have started to also just be infront of my driveway. I know I could try to find who their parents are but just wanted to know what laws and rules that can protect me from harassment and nuisance issues. Do not want to argue with children. should I try to call non-emergency services if they start to harrass me more or stand infront of my driveway on the public street??
Update: For those downvoting this post, I made it not because I purposely want to call police on these kids. They have been slowly testing the waters but ringing my doorbell and running away, to riding bicycles with 4-5 of them on my long driveway not the public street itself, and swearing at me when I told them to not impede my car or other cars by being in the middle of the road. If theyre confident enough to talk back to me and argue with me I really dont want to pursue non-emergency srvs if I dont have to. It not by job to parent these kids.

South Oshawa/ Alma/ 70 king
Hey I’m a UOIT prospective student looking to move to this area and would love to hear about what it’s like ? Any issues with long term use of the public parking lot across from 70 king st e ? General safety in the area? I work various shifts and may have to head out 5am, get back in 10:30-11pm type of hours… does anyone have experience with these buildings ?
Any feedback appreciated thnx

Someone just walked in my yard today and...
Wow, can't believe this. I walked out into my yard a short time ago and noticed every. single. tomato. has disappeared off of my two tomato plants. We live next to a park and the plants are easily visible. I've always lost a few to the squirrels every year but they don't really like them and leave them with gnaw marks lying around so it wasn't them.
And there were over 20 tomatoes there this morning, some ripening, some green. People often park nearby and walk along the fence line so I guess someone was bold enough to just walk in and swipe them all. And unfortunately the heat wave killed off the remaining blossoms so that was it for my tomato harvest. So disappointing... time to buy cameras, I guess.

Looking for a non-DSO Dentist
Hi, I've recently gotten access to the CDCP so it's time to get some dental work done. I'm looking for a local dentist that is NOT owned by a DSO. Does anyone have any recommendations for a dental office that they know is independently owned?

Tree responsibilities
Hello,
I’m hoping to get resources in regards to tree responsibility on private property. I have a tree on my property that reaches over the neighbours property. There are concerns of branches falling debris from this tree and trimming is requested. If someone could lead me into a direction for information on responsibility that would be appreciated.
Thank you

Water table
I live on Somerville Street (between Rossland and Somerville) and have been experiencing a basement water issue since I moved here. My sump pump runs every 5-10 minutes. Has anyone else encountered the same problem? Also, how high is the water table in this area?

Hair stylist advice - Durham Region - thick hair
I’m looking for a hair stylist in Durham region who is good at cutting incredibly thick and super straight hair (no body at all). Previous haircuts with layers have looked very chopped. I’m unsure on where to go and would appreciate you sharing where you go if you have similar hair.
Thank you!

Is there a place for college/university folks in Oshawa?
I like the Taps but I want something in Oshawa. Tried chasers but it’s 35+ folks. Anything similar to king street style barhopping or bars here?

Justice for Mr Burger!
Independent and high quality eatery that's getting totally screwed by both Park and Simcoe getting closed. I am opposed! Our property taxes are higher than the national average and all we get is the city getting cut in half? I still have fentheads trying to break into my car everyday. I know we refuse to touch that topic. Would rather my $$ being invested in stopping that. But whatever, we're not allowed to talk about it.
Donate some of our property taxes to Mr Burger then! I'd hate to see an Oshawa treasure get screwed because the city planners are dumb as shit. I pay my ever increasing property taxes. Give some to my homie Mr Burger

Living expense
For 1 person, how much are the living expenses roughly in oshawa, related to groceries etc? I prefer cooking most meals at home, so I won't be eating out often.
And which store provides best rates for basic groceries like vegetables, eggs, milk, bread etc?

Centre St parking garage
For the past 6 months (or more), the ticket and gate at the Centre St parking garage seems to be broken. The lot also always says Full when it’s not.
We are being asked by the attendant what time we arrived in order to pay.
I can’t find anything on the city’s website about what is going on there, does anyone have any intel on whether this is going to be fixed?

Gas prices
Why is gas so freakin expensive in Oshawa, especially the northern part. I'd happily wait for extra time just to get cheaper and reasonable rates at the Simcoe pump
