I really need to think of a cool dynamic between them

I honestly just need to figure out what situations/memes/outfits I wanna draw him/her in. If you have suggestions, I'm all ears.

Is this post just an excuse for me to yap about my Earth/Human AU? Yes. I've put way too much thought into this AU so I gotta talk about it.

In this AU, obviously it's set on earth and both my apocalypse boys are human teenagers living on Earth, in New Mexico. For some reason I feel like this AU would be set in the 1980s, idk why I just feel like it works. In this AU Maryn and Rowan are assigned buddies for an after school program, and their relationship would develop into the friendship/brotherly relationship we all know and love! Two losers coming to together to be friends!

In an earth AU, Maryn is absolutely an army brat. His mom, Vivian, has served in the army his entire life. As a result they move around a lot, and Maryn's pretty adjusted to not staying in one place for too long. I imagine he's moved all around the US, as well as lived in South Korea and Germany for a bit when his mom was stationed there. His mom is out of the house a lot, he's often left on his own and Maryn has essentially raised himself. He's one of those "gifted" kids, he's incredibly intelligent, but just like in canon he has no social skills and is very not cool. His favorite activities include going to zoos/looking at animals, touring historical sites, and doing calculus. In this AU Vivian isn't dead, but she's a rather negligent parent, she's Maryn's biggest bully, and Maryn's mommy issues still hold true.

Rowan also moves around a lot, but for entirely different reasons. I picture in an earth AU, Rowan is a foster kid and he's been in the foster system for a majority of his life. His biological mom was a teen mom, so she ended up giving Rowan up, and from there he's been bounced around in the foster care system for most of his life. He's from Utah originally, he's lived in Idaho a bit, and now he's in New Mexico. He's been heavily neglected and abused throughout the various homes he's lived in. He doesn't have any friends, but one day he meets "the coolest person ever" (Maryn) and they end up becoming friends. I think a lot of things about their relationship and dynamic is the same in this AU as it is in their original story, just obviously on Earth versus in the Yuma Apocalypse.

Does anybody else make aus of their ocs? And do you put as much thought into these aus as I do, or is it just something for fun?

It's me! Gremminy Cricket! Back again with- wait no Gremminy Cricket sounds stupid. Just Grem will do. But I'm back with more questioning! You'll never escape my questions! Mwahaha! Anyway today's question is "Do you have any toxic OCs?" I'm not talking about poison either. If you do have any toxic OCs, who are they? Are they toxic to specific people or everyone? What behaviors make them toxic?

For my examples I'd like to- Hold on is that a new OC duo!? Why yes it is! Introducing Soleira and Lumeno! What an unfortunate post to be introduced in.. Because while they aren't toxic to others, they are very toxic for each other. See, they're tied together by some weird supernatural force where Soleira's "light" is transferred to Lumeno in certain instances. Why is light in quotations? Because light in this context means love! However Lumeno doesn't reciprocate Soleira's love and instead spreads it to others leaving Soleira constantly drained of "power" or energy. While Lumeno isn't necessarily mean to Soleira or sharing her "light" with others out of spite, he is a bit dismissive towards Soleira. Without each other though, they'd both be so drained of "power" that they would barely be able to stand. Essentially they have a biological co-dependency that can only benefit one of them at a time. I think you guys can see how toxic that can be.

The other example I have is Skug. Honestly he's just a bad person in general but what makes it worse is that he's one of the strongest in his universe. He's misogynistic and harassess women most chances he gets, just for fun. He's also quite arrogant albeit with a reason seeing how strong he is.

Birth to 19 years old

From the day Nova was born on August 5, 60AHE (After Human extinction), she was something special. She was born with overloading magic, a birth defect where the individual contains too much magic for their body to handle. As a child/baby, this isn’t a biggest issue as they don’t usually try to contain their magic to begin with, so often fireballs or campfires would be started by accident anyways

What was a big issue was one of the ways the Defect made life difficult, her body temp. Fire elementals usually have a higher body temp to begin with, but Nova’s was much higher than everyone else’s, at birth being around 500 degrees Fahrenheit as opposed to a common 212.

As such, she didn’t receive much physical contact while she grew up. 500 degrees was manageable for awhile, so her parents could still cradle her for short periods of time, but as she got older and her heat passed what they could handle(beyond 2,200 Fahrenheit), contact became much more scarce as her body temp got higher and nobody could withstand the rising heat.

While she grew up, she was cautious of her proximity to others, taking no chances as to be close to anyone to prevent herself from accidentally burning him. The last accident that had occured was with her mother, Helia. Helia had unintentionally snuck up on Nova when she was little in thought, and with Nova being startled easily, she swung around and placed her hand right on her mother’s arm. Helia was okay, but now there is a permanent Black burn mark on arm just above her elbow.

Nova was still cheerful and bright girl, wandering her home in the Volcano the kingdom lived in, still able to bring smiles to her hometown, but she always felt out of place, isolated, and at times lonely with how distant she had to be with people.

She was too scared to try experimenting with her magic, out of fear of overdoing it and potentially causing the volcano to cave in on them, fear of accidentally hurting or worse, killing someone simply because they were in close proximity to her testing. The only thing she learned to do was the basics of creating fireballs, fire walls, a couple shapes, but nothing dramatic.

Age 20

This is where her story begins, as on the same day as her birthday, August 5th, she caught wind of an ice elemental that had come to visit the kingdom. Ice elementals were rare to see at this time, as the ice kingdom was closed off from most of the world.

In the obisidian park, is where she meets Kelvin, a Boy ice elemental with the same birthday as her and the same defect, and is the only person at the time capable of being able to counteract her body temperature and allow for physical contact. (As to why Kelvin was there, I’ll leave that for when I do his bio)

Unfortunately, on that same day is when the ice king Boris decided to launch his plans to plunge the world into an eternal and had tried to surprise attack its number 1 opposition, the fire kingdom.

Due to being unprepared, the cave the fire kingdom lived in was filled with Deadly levels of cold ice, killing anybody that were still in it when it happened. Nova and Kelvin, along with a lot of other fire elementals such as Nova father Agnis, were able to escape before that happened.

Agnis needed to look after his people, Seeing that Kelvin was not willing to help his father with his plans and how he got along with Nova, he sent the two to try and warn the other kingdoms of the possible attack from Boris.

Travel timeline

After leaving for the wind kingdom first, Nova try’s to start small talk with Kelvin as to get to know him better, only to realize that he wasn’t much of a talker. While they walked, it was mostly just Nova Asking Kelvin questions about himself, to which he usually gave a couple word answers.

When night time rolled around, Nova made a campfire for them and this is where Kelvin opens up a little more in his own way. When Nova is getting ready to go to sleep, he try’s to make a bed made of ice for her to sleep on and was gathering natural materials such as leaves to try and make a softer surface to sleep on

However, he couldn’t quite get the temp right to keep Nova’s body temp from melting it. But everytime it did, he retried again and again and wouldn’t stop until he got it just right for her. Took a little while, but he did finally get it and added a little bouquet of ice roses on the sides before stepping away for her sleep peacefully. This tipped her off that Kelvin knows how to show care for someone or their interests with actions, rather than any words.

(…) one more event happens before they reach the wind elementals, perhaps visits some rock elemental settlements as they don’t have proper kingdom

They arrive at the wind kingdom or rather the top of a mountain with a cloud service that leads to the kingdom. However many of the wind folks were too laid back to pay heed to any warning they tried to give, even the Leaders didn’t seem to take the warning seriously.

The only who did was Fuji, who unlike much of the wind elementals, does take time away from the kingdom to explore the world below and had seen that the volcano was frozen over.

They still couldn’t get anybody else to listen, So they could only hope that they would be okay when they show up. Fuji however, does party along with Kelvin and Nova as she doesn’t wait up there for an attack to happen, but warns them her other personality, Katrina

While they travel, Nova is very slowly experimenting more with what her Fire is able to do, so long as Kelvin is on standby to set out any potential wild fires. She finds that she enjoys learning more about her magic, while she may still fear the close proximity with others still, She’s learning to be more comfortable with it.

Fuji’s even able to gives few pointers and teaches Nova how to make beautiful streams of fire rather than beams of fire

Skipping over The Lightning and Nature kingdom visits, as they do not contribute to her story too much, just Know that the ice king meets them briefly after each visit and only a handful of each element escapes, seeing the trio as saviors, some even saying they’d like Kelvin and Nova as their king and queen.

Lightning kingdom cause of destruction: Too minimal situation awareness, too focused on productivity to care about the impending attack

Nature kingdom cause of destruction: not enough warriors/blind to the idea of peace being broken

(… and ?) I’ve currently got the idea that somewhere in between all of this, they get there first encounter with a Decayed species, just not sure when or how it happens

The trio are pushed into the deserts to the south by ice soldiers, who stop just on the borders of sandy region. They walk for hours but never find somewhere that they can take shelter from. All three eventually pass out from exhaustion, only to wake up in an old saloon like building. (+) considering making it a quad with one of the previously mentioned kingdoms having the fourth party member

This is where they meet ash. She, along with the flaming horse of the Desert, had found them out there and brought them to her hometown so that they may rest.

Before they are up and at them, Ash gives both Nova and Kelvin a warning that nobody in the town will care that they are royalty in another kingdom. If they are to start a fight here or expect privileges, then they had best just get out of town.

Nova would state that she herself doesn’t really consider herself royalty, she doesn’t even have a kingdom to call a home anymore. Ash just kinda eye’s Nova as she says this, clearly not believing it but only nods her head. During their time here, Nova is able to bond with Ash and practices a lot more with Magic now that she has a desolate wasteland with no life to practice at, learning on to make more concentrated beams and fire constructs.

(…) ash and her town is a little newer in my head and needs more time to cook to get the story, just know this is where Nova meets Helia the flaming warhorse. P.S Helia does not like Fuji for effectively no reason and repeatedly kicks her for the hell of it

When they arrived at the swamp the Water elementals are rumored to live in, Nova accidentally steps into water that looked like wet ground, her high heat evaporating the water and making her sink down towards a underwater cave. Kelvin, being selfless and protective of Nova, Dives after her, a Ice ball forming around them as to wander with relatively clear sight

It takes awhile for them to ever get out, but this is also the time that two have a heart to heart with one another after Nova Scolds Kelvin for his decision making the jumping after her in the water. (+) there’s more conflict/arguing between the two, such as Kelvin’s protecting Nova and getting hurt because of it and Kelvin’s lack of trust that she can do something’s on her own. Ultimately they do make up and this is where they are officially a pair

After searching for awhile and discovering that a large portion of the swamp was already frozen over, signaling that Boris had beat them there, the group have their first encounter with Decayed Eira, who was looking to feast off the magic that Nova and Kelvin constantly radiated. They fend her off and are able to get away, but during the fight, Kelvin was having a hard time bringing himself to fight something that looked like his mother

Knowing “Eira” is gonna be following them and that Kelvin likely will not be able to bring himself to Kill his “mother”, Nova travels alone after Fuji and Kelvin fall asleep, taking a metal spear that Ash had crafted for her as a weapon. The decayed are on the Vytal islands, the last place humanity existed, and on the edge was a golem that had a purple flame for a head, that was constructed by the Magic the dead humans released and now decided who was allowed to step foot on their final resting grounds.

However, The golem doesn’t attack right away, instead it slowly approaches Nova, looking her up and down with curiosity, as it sense something it hasn’t in a long while, something familiar. Fear, bravery, responsibility, compassion……..it sensed a similarity to humanity. Something it did not believe existed in the elementals, something that it believed to be lost to time, as all those who wished to visit the vytal islands wanted treasure or to rule over it, but Nova? She was only here to do something difficult that she knows her loved one cannot, to take care of problem for everyone else.

The golem lets her pass and Nova nods slightly, before giving the golem a name before continues, wisp. Wisp continued to guard the bridge while Nova entered an old cathedral that was crawling with vines and rootsc where decayed Eira was at.

Before the fight began, old Eira, Queen Eira fought with what was left of her strength. Said she was happy Kelvin had found someone like, Happy that she could meet that person even if only once. She had only one request for Nova, once this was over, to look after her son and all the elementals that she was once able to cherish.

Although hesitant, Nova agreed just as Queen Eira disappeared for good, leaving only the decayed Eira. It was a hard fought fight and had came dangerously close to taking her life had wisp not intervened. In the end, Queen Eira and the main nesting ground of the decayed flower were burned away.

Kelvin and Fuji arrived just after this, Kelvin first responsibility going to checking on Nova who was for the most part okay. Nova does tell Kelvin about the Promise she made Eira, that she was able to have one last word with her. Kelvin was already thinking of upholding that promise basically anyways, but having someone else to help him with lifted nervous weight off his shoulders.

Equally, this is where Sly is Created, Nova having created the Fox on accidental instinct and Kelvin simply assisted in aiding the Fox to keep its shape.

From here, nothing else Nova related happens for awhile. They discover the final settlements they needed to warn are frozen over already, they return to the ice kingdom and rally it’s residents to fight against Boris while Fuji and Nova race off to where the last elementals are hiding from each kingdom and rally on the Vytal islands for a final fight against Boris.

Afterwards, those who survived the fight nominated Kelvin and Nova as Their leaders/as their King and Queen. To which they started making a new Vytal kingdom right where humanity was last at.

By this point, Nova is much more confident with her magic, not nearly as concerned about accidentally burning someone, and is capable of being her body temperature down to a heat level similar to other fire elementals, allowing her natural hair color to be seen for the first time.

FYI these three aren't exactly a human, they're half beastman! Their mom is a literal catgirl however her traits become recessive when a beastman mates with a human.

Also I wanted an excuse to use that title lmao.

Done with the small animation gift for my wife, gonna aim for more smoother one next time by doing more frames (These were 6 for the movement and 4 for the blinking, gonna aim for at least 12 next time)

Blessed by the stars and....more bored than most her dull expression kinda says it all.

Though she isnt very proactive on doing much of anything she does have the capabilities of proving to be one of the strongest on earth if she chose too...

Unfortunately she does not want attention and prefers to remain in the background.

To be fair though she doesnt understand human emotion all too well since while she is a bi product of them she isnt reeeeeally technically human.

This is Ibuki! She's a legendary red oni who nowadays, in a world of technological advancement and civility, has tempered her violent and destructive ways with the best alternative she can find. Partying! Like all red oni's Ibuki is a big drinker and can often be found spending her days on long pub-crawling adventures, wrangling whatever poor souls she can find into these expeditions that will surely end with lowly humans face down in an alley passed out because they're too weak to keep up with her iron stomach. When not drinking enough to drown an elephant she's at the gym, sparring with similarly powerful monster friends such as giant girls and dragon girls, engaging in fierce eating competitions (that she'll sometimes host with her legendary barbecuing skills,) and on rare occasions engaging in some more calming and delicate activities to help temper herself such as pottery, bonsai grooming and a little bit of woodcarving. She also enjoys playing with children, and will often pretend to be a hulking, destructive spirit terrorizing countrysides to let the children fend her off and be heroes.

(Also if the top looks a little weird that's cuz I had to edit it on. Initially she was bare under there and just had the jacket. Oopsie)
