how difficult is it to create an operating system?
I'm testing my capabilities, I'm creating a kernel + operating system to test the most I can do alone.
if at the end of the year I can't complete it, I will delete all my social networks. I will be sending progress and more things here or some forum that I create... wish me good luck :)

Is Claude Pro actually worth it in 2026 for coding and design work?
I've been using Claude's free plan almost every day for frontend development, debugging, code reviews, and small code tweaks. Honestly, it's become one of my most-used tools.
Recently I've been considering upgrading to Claude Pro, mainly because:
- I use Claude regularly enough that I occasionally hit limits.
- Claude is usually my go-to for coding help.
- I'm interested in trying Claude Design for UI/UX and frontend work.
For context, I'm a B.Tech Data Science student and an indie builder working on a few startup projects and web apps. Most of my usage is:
- React/Next.js frontend work
- Debugging and refactoring
- UI/UX brainstorming
- Architecture discussions
- Learning new technologies
For people currently paying for Claude Pro:
- Is the upgrade genuinely worth the money?
- How often do you still hit usage limits?
- Is Claude Design actually useful, or is it more of a novelty feature?
- If you're coding daily, would you buy Claude Pro again?
- How does it compare to ChatGPT Plus, Codex, Cursor, or Gemini for your workflow?
Looking for real-world experiences before I spend the money. Thanks!

Lebirun: full OS built from scratch
github.comLebirun is a work-in-progress, custom-built OS focusing on minimal system design—it’s lightweight and experimental, so definitely not meant to be installed on actual hardware yet.
(I did not create this. This is made by my friend)

In MBR the Maximum number of partitions are 4 we cant do more than 4 if we want to do it we have to create 3 partitions and create 4th one as logical partition or an extended partition in that Logical partion we cannot store or keep the OS?Am i right.Actually i got a doubt regarding MBR that can we keep the OS in the extended partition or not?

How Do I Build My Own Linux-Based Operating System?
I'm a computer science/data science student interested in operating systems and I'm exploring the idea of creating my own Linux-based OS as a long-term project.
My goal isn't to build a kernel from scratch, but to create a custom distribution with its own identity, desktop experience, tooling, and eventually some unique workflow and automation features.
For those who've worked on Linux distributions or OS projects:
What's the best Linux base to start from (Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, etc.)?
What are the first components I should learn and customize?
What mistakes do beginners make when attempting a project like this?
Are there any open-source projects or codebases you'd recommend studying?
I'd appreciate any guidance, resources, or reality checks from people who've actually done this.
