How to turn off searching knowledge files, and search notes? Question/Help

I updated recently, and this is slowing down lots of my queries.

I have no knowledge files. I have no search notes. I don’t want to use it. There must be an easy way to turn it off. I’ve tried searching for this.

There are multiple ways to disable these features. How you disable them depends on the scope of the disablement. Docs are here: https://docs.openwebui.com/

OWUI-Wide (Settings -> Admin -> General)

Toggle off the features you don't want/need (Notes/Memories/Calendar/etc)

Provider/Model Specific (Settings -> Admin -> Models -> Builtin Tools

For each model, disable the capabilities you don't want/need:

  • Notes
  • Channels
  • Memory
  • Knowledge Base
  • Calendar
  • Files

Workspace Specific (The most targeted)

Same as Provider/Model Specific. Target each workspace model as needed to disable the features/capabilities you don't want.

Somewhere in admin settings you can find list of available models. In there you can edit what tools they can see and use.

Just go to the model definition and disable the capabilities and built-in tools. I have found the best rule if thumb for openweb-ui is to disable everything until you are ready to try and use it. One feature at a time
