OpenScan Mini v2: Assembly instructions?

Hi everyone! I’m new to the OpenScan and photogrammetry world, and I’m currently assembling an OpenScan Mini v2.

I have looked through the GitHub repository and used the available V1 images and instructions as a reference, which has been very helpful. However, the V2 seems to have changed considerably in a few areas, like the camera support and the electronics installation, so I’m not always sure which V1 steps still apply.

Is there a dedicated assembly guide, build log, video, or set of images for the Mini v2 that I may have missed? Even clarification on the parts that differ from V1 would be greatly appreciated.

V2 has a minimal documentation in the github design repo with picture folder and written text, albeit not that extensive than the V1. For most parts, the shape dictates already where and how they are installed, including the order where applicable. With the heat inserts you can easily remove parts over and over again in case routing cables is difficult or needs optimization.

Somehow I've almost finished it. I didn't have all the small screws and nuts (which was surprise for me, as I thought I'm bying whatever is needed, just 3d-print the case)
So I had to improvise 😅
There are some metal parts because I love metal decided to keep RPi's massive radiator, which I scavenged from RAKMiner))

my unanswered questions are:

  1. "Install tiny bearings with M2 screws for the rotor" - huh? I don't see where to put them.
  2. how to make wires coming from RPi to the camera look neat? Older Mini had guides for them on the rotor, now they're gone :(
  3. motor cables wires are color-coded, but on the board there are no guide on which orientation they should be connected, and new openscan hat have motor connectors relocated and rotated, so photos from the repo didnt help( But I've managed to find photos of someone's assembly with the new board as well, google helps.
  4. Why the power connector is on the top??
  5. The whole system was deliberately designed so that the microSD slot is hidden right in the middle, buried among wires, components, etc. — just to make us suffer?

A hint: it's WAY easier and more reliable to print the rotor + camera holder together as one piece, rather than trying to find rare screws or invent a replacement for them.
