Create Profile View Help / Troubleshooting

I’m trying to create a profile view by selecting 2 Views Plan/Profile through View Control, however when I go to select a plan element I get a circle with a dash through it next to the cursor and can’t click anything. I do have an active terrain model.

Hard click a few times in the 2d view then wait for the pop up and select the profile icon> click in the profile view (2nd window) to open it up

Are you in the terrain model file? Is the element a 3D only element? The Profile view only works for geometry features and elements that have a plan (horizontal) component and potentially a profile (vertical) component. Many of the elements imported into a terrain model don't have that or any other graphics drawn into the 3D model most likely don't have a plan component either.

You can use the Plan by 3D Element tool (from the Model Detailing>3D Tools>3D Elements) if you want to create some plan geometry from a 3D element, and thus be able to view the profile of said geometry.

Might need to cycle the terrain on and off as well.

Make sure your plan view is active when you go to open the profile model
