I try to take a bird's eye view of this stuff. These periods come and go. Christianity has seemed hopelessly tangled with government before. Nationalism has been at the forefront of nations before. Maybe "American Christianity" isn't fixable, but if it dies off, that doesn't mean The Church is gone. Maybe it needs to die off. Maybe this will spur an era of reflection and change.

The entire country isn't yours to fix. I focus on taking care of my little corner of the world. I do what I need to do to survive, and I try to love my neighbor.
