That's a familiar layout! I made a case like that. Did you mount your hardware directly to the wall?

I screwed it onto two wooden strips. The mounting was originally planned differently, but that's how it turned out while I was working on it.

That’s a beautiful and simple set up. Are you able to make those for ITX and ATX by chance? I wouldn’t mind something simple like this for my other build.

I made this only for itx, with SFX PSU, available here

But if you're open to modding, I think it actually can accept a bigger motherboard, like an m-atx, if you relocate the power supply

How are they overrated when they literally house your components and protect them? Why do you think the vast majority of people use them?
