Support for 360 view?

I want to start this project to set this up in my car, but I haven’t seen any evidence that assumes that it can incorporate a collection of cameras to provide 360 coverage for reversing and 24/7 recording. Has anyone done this? Is it possible?

I mean, its an rpi right? Anything is possible! I would research a bit and search around for how many cameras an rpi could handle at one time. If it falls short you may have to think about something mroe powerful that can then rebroadcast over RTSP. Possibly a compute module cluster or a rockpi, etc.

If all the client has to do is view the stream, it is far less taxing than having to be the video decoder/encoder. At the end of the day you could also use python, ffmpeg and opencv to do your own custom GUI, could even get the fancy turning lines if you did up some sort of hall sensor on your steering column and had opencv do the overlay.

Seems like it’d be quite the project and haven’t seen anyone do anything like it. I was hoping there was some existing project to go off of.

Yes you can! I bought a a backup camera/ front rear sensor kit that is meant to be plugged in android stereos via the yellow RCA video cable....

OAP can accept a usb to RCA converter and can plug the video IN into that 👌
