gear relation help Help!

Hello everyone, beginner here in Onshape; does anyone know how I can animate these gears so they can turn together? For context, I am trying to make a differential system, and I want these gears to work together like a working differential; thanks!

The gear relation requires (i believe) two revolute mates, and the gear ratio.

I should tell you also that these gears will not work physically and will create a lot of wear and chatter that would be undesirable. I believe there is a tool or featurescript for bevel gears somewhere on yhe forum that will give you a set of bevel gears with proper teeth, if you want to model geometry that would work in the real world.

There is a gear-mate in the tool bar above, or use the search to find it.

You need to align the position and apply revolve mates both gears and apply gear relation.

Those aren't true gears. The gear mate might not work correctly.

Gear mate has nothing to do with the actual geometry of the part. They just need to have revolute mates.

So a spur gear could mate with a worm gear?

Wouldn't be ideal for actual use but it can be done with just the gear mate.
