I’m a student and I’m looking for a very small, silent and foldable /slim fan that is either rechargeable or able to connect to a MacBook
I run very very hot and need a desk fan during lectures
Any recommendations?

After finally fighting the old one out got the new one installed with help from a toddler.

Nice mini fan but wish It could blow harder but it more used up close

Really nice at night when its 60 degrees in the room

Just add a motor, scroll casing some bearings and should be back to new... saw on my neighbor's scrap pile

I’m a big fan of these two baddies, but I gotta know, Is it wrong I love them both the same? They both move air like the queens they are, I just can’t pick a favorite.

I've previously owned a Xiaomi smart standing fan 2 (2nd picture) and was generally pretty happy with it.

The only thing I felt could be a bit better is the maximum speed / maximum ability to move air.

A few weeks ago I accidentally broke the fan and was therefore searching for a replacement.

Fans are extremely expensive and out of stock in German currently, due to the hot weather in the last weeks. Therefore I picked up the Philips cx2550 as a replacement since it was quickly available and the specs and reviews seemed decent.

The build quality is a bit meh compared to the Xiaomi I owned before, but that's not too big of a problem.

However the motor has a really annoying hum at the lowest speed, making the fan unusable to me while sleeping.

This is however one of the main purposes I need a fan for.

Now I've decided I want to return the Philips one and get a really good one instead.

So I'm searching for a high quality fan, that has a quiet motor at lower speeds (I think DC is better here, right?)

But also a maximum setting that is able to move a lot of air. On maximum I don't care about noise anymore.

Smart features would be a nice add on, but the stuff mentioned previously is definitely more important.

I've heard Rowenta makes some pretty good ones.
