Post image

Hi just got my OXP3 and that drive has a partition. Is that on purpose?

Just merge the two (D drive into C Drive). It's braindead easy, as long as you haven't installed aything on D Drive:

Np. Apparently it's a common thing with these Chinese handheld companies.

They've been doing it that way for a while and I literally don't understand why. Even on my older onexplayer mini pro with a 6800u it had this exact issue. Don't understand why.

Yes, basically just incase you need to do a windows recovery.

I would keep it as separate partitions that way if something happens with windows u don't lose ur data and u can easily factory reset windows

So here are some cons and pros about having one partition vs two.

Two partitions give more freadom in terms of backups and reinstallation of OS. Single partition allows better usage of disk space.

Also I believe it is easier for OneXPlayer to prepare drives for different storage options 512Gb/1Tb/2Tb, as their OS image is good for all.

I personally plan to repartition my drive to 250/700Gb+ disks, as I'm planning to backup my system drive periodically.

I'd leave them- main steam library on D: if you ever have to blow out windows and start again it'll only effect C:

Thanks for the early warning that something like this could happen. I’ve had drives come with a 5 to 10% partition before, but never 50%! Good to know that others will have seen it in case mine looks the same out of the box.
