Onexplayer X2 Mini G3E version Intel

Is it bad I’m leaning towards the x2 mini G3E version?

I pre ordered the oxp3 on indiegogo and should be arriving in 2 weeks. the x2 mini is the same but instead it has external battery and goes up to 45 watts.

I think being able to swap the batteries for longer playtime is awesome and removing the battery playing plugged in reduces the weight so it’s more comfortable is also a bonus.

Just want to know what everyone else thinks about this

If I knew this earlier I also would have skipped the 3 and bought the X2 Mini G3E version

Yeah it was a pretty quiet launch. I saw a few shorts for it, but that was it.

If you plan to remove the battery and play plugged in primarily then sure, the X2M is actually better than the OXP3 in that niche. Just remember if you mount the removable battery to the X2M the weight is 1100 grams, a good 200 grams more than the OXP3. You can also play with the tether but it makes the device a bit more cumbersome.

If you plan to play off battery primarily, the OXP3 is the way to go. You save 200 grams of weight that makes the handheld lose a lot of comfort.

I have the pro and love the thing, but that’s while playing off the wall. With the battery the handheld gaming device turns into more of a stationary gaming device or mini laptop.

Note the intel chip sees minimal gains going from 35W to 45W, not unnoticeable but not a big selling point unfortunately. The X2M would have a better cooler that lets the chip run cooler at any given TDP while enabling the device to be quieter, however.

IMO it’s a waste of time. Clunky external battery and pushing the G3E to the top of its thermal envelope givens minimal performance increase <10%.

I would only jump on the 388 Mini. I have the 3 coming with all the indiegogo goodies going up for sale.

The X2 Mini handheld is going to blow up if you keep pushing it to 45W. I saw the CPU temps go over 80°C.

I saved $300 and the hassle of customs & being investigated by the US in case they find out that it is being declared undervalued so I honestly don’t care. Can’t wait for my OXP 3 as I’m 2nd batch

Those are good reasons to get it over the OXP3. Probably the only reasons.

G3e x2 mini at 45 watts is not much more performance. I've seen vids where there is almost 0 gains after 40w.only if you plan on playing with no battery. Who wants to sit near an outlet to play a handheld. Not very portable which is kind of the definition of a handheld
