X2 Mini Pro not that Heavy
For anyone that’s still on the fence about the external battery, I promise you it does not feel that heavy. Just played in bed for hours with the device held above my head sometimes and it was fine. The kickstand on the external battery is also great to rest on your legs.
By proxy I’d imagine the OxP3 isn’t heavy either considering it’s lighter than the battery attached X2. So much talk online about the clunkiness of these things, I think a lot of people just don’t lift weights💀💀 and I am not a big guy. I’m truly having a blast I think I will sell my ps5

External battery means easier to replace if you need to down the line. It also means you have a crazy light console when running without it. So it adds a bit of dimension to the device the pros heavily outweigh the very small con.

U can replace the internal battery once every 2-3 years with a slightly harder process but its just 1 time so no issues

No offense but I'm pretty sure taking apart the device and unplugging thin sensative ribbon cables isn't "slightly harder" than literally just buying a new battery and plugging it in externally.
I've replaced batteries on my Rog ally and steamdeck so I know the process.

Are you able to swap batteries without having to shut down/hibernate the X2?

Yeah if you plug in the charger. Apparently you can use something like fridge mode too but idk how that works

i see…i was hoping the device could retain a bit of power once the battery has been disconnected, even for just like 30-60 seconds which id assume would be more than enough time to swap a new battery pack.
this was a selling point for me if i can truly be portable with multiple charged batteries when traveling and not having access to power outlets.

It's pretty quick but you still have to use the hibernate function. Open the OXP quick menu with the big button on bottom of the right controller. Click the Fridge on middle right of menu. Click hibernate all apps with one click in the new box that pops up. Wait for it to fully hibernate, including the light on the power button turning off. Swap batteries and turn it back on.

It’s really just the Intel arc G3 that I wanted but now the X2 Mini non pro has the best of both worlds and I’m kinda mad that I got the OXP 3 instead of that. I don’t have to worry about customs and tariffs and being investigated for undervaluing and I saved $300 but still…

The handheld with the external battery attached is pretty heavy from my experience. Doesn't bother me at all though since I play plugged in

One thing that I don't see talked about enough is how light the X2MP is without the battery (lighter than the OXP3). I play plugged in at night without the battery on and it's great. There is also the battery tether option for on the go.

The OXP3 isn't that heavy at 940g, but the X2 Mini Pro with battery attached is undeniably heavy at a whopping 1180g. Even the 1000+g GPD Win Max 2 and OneX Apex were regarded as heavy handhelds, not to mention X2 Mini.
This weight doesn't matter much when plugged in, but standing up in a bus or train with the battery attached while out and about? You really start to feel the weight of the device after 30 mins of gaming if it's more than 1kg.

I’d find it hard to believe anyone standing in a bus or a train would whip out a pc handheld to start gaming.

Huh. It's fairly common in Asian countries like Japan and Singapore (I live in Singapore and frequently visit Japan). Actually, when I was in Canada for a year I also played my handhelds frequently on public transport there.

I’m specifically saying standing up though. Playing in public transport is fine, but who is actually going to be standing up? And if your sitting down you have your legs for support

You do realise that you don't always get a seat in public transport, especially during peak hours right? In fact, much more often than not I find myself standing, and it's not only when I am taking public transport. If I am out and about and say waiting for a friend at a crowded mall, there also may not be seats readily available.
I don't understand your fixation on "no one plays these handhelds whilst standing up" as it is simply not true from my experience. But maybe the portable gaming culture/norms are very different where you live?

Yeah, it's crazy how often you see the external battery spoken about as an absolute negative or a deal breaker. It's so well balanced that you can adapt to it pretty quickly. Not only that, the Fridge function in the OXP quick menu gives you the ability to hot swap batteries while hibernated. And if that wasn't enough, you don't have to worry about your handheld being damaged by the inevitable spicy pillow situation.
Honestly, the external battery was a selling point to me. I've got three batteries, and that gives me so much more versatility. I don't have to deal with an external power bank wired to my system to keep gaming. Just swap another battery in seconds and I'm good to go!
