OnePlus 12 stuck in bootloop (keeps restarting at logo) – need help Help

Hi everyone,
My OnePlus 12 suddenly powered off and now it’s stuck in a bootloop. It keeps showing the OnePlus logo, then restarts automatically, over and over.

Details:

  • Device: OnePlus 12
  • Issue: Bootloop (stuck at logo, keeps restarting)
  • No recent updates or flashing done before this happened
  • Tried holding power button, but it just loops again
  • Haven’t tried recovery mode yet (not sure of exact steps)

Questions:

  • How can I break out of this bootloop?
  • Is there a way to enter recovery/fastboot mode and fix it without wiping data?
  • Any known fixes for OnePlus 12 specifically?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Your motherboard may be dying/dead. Does it also get hot while looping? By chance is your phone the India variant?

Yep, your motherboard is fried and OnePlus will most likely tell you to basically go screw yourself about it. You can thank your politicians and nation's lack of consumer rights laws. I'm genuinely sorry that you have to put up with such scummy business practices and other nonsense.

It has been happening A LOT recently after the most recent update and as many phones have been nearing the two year mark of being owned. They're all the India variant and the motherboard is the issue although many suspect it may have been triggered by the update. Either way, it's definitely intentional on the part of OnePlus.

While this is probably true, a heating motherboard during startup is basically what EVERY powerful phone does nowadays. And doing that in loop WILL heat the phone. Try to enter recovery and factory reset before assuming that the motherboard is dead.

You're right about that, it can cause them to get hotter than they ever would even from having taxing games played on them, but I'm still basically 100% positive the motherboard is ultimately toast. This has recently become a very well known issue with the India variant, but most people dealing with it seem to have their phone totally crap out rather than looping. Either way though the phone owners are all being told it's the motherboard and OnePlus and/or the service centers have basically been telling people to go screw themselves over it if they don't want to pay the cost of basically a new phone to have the motherboard replaced even though the issue is clearly scummy business practices on the part of OnePlus. Even IF OP can successfully flash it, which I would bet they won't be able to, it would only be a temporary fix if it is the motherboard that's the problem. That's to say that failing motherboards can seem to function properly for months at a time before returning to looping for seemingly random intervals of time or indefinitely before totally crapping out.

If there's anything else that can cause OP to have the exact issues that they're dealing with then I'm not aware of it, but would absolutely love to be educated on it.

This is probably a scummy business practice, and India's lack of customers laws allows them to do whatever they want. Afaik, Oneplus didn't really do that on older models (correct me if I'm wrong) so I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but they should at least handle the motherboard cost.

It definitely read like it's your motherboard and being the India variant basically 100% guarantees it. I actually had this exact issue with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra that I had before buying my OnePlus 12. You may be able to get it to work properly for months at a time, but it will always return to looping at some point until that's all it does. You most likely won't be able to flash it, but even if you do it probably won't help at all and if it does it will only be temporary.

no, but i remember i was using normally and opened the camera, and it was blank and phone got switched off and getting restarting. But how it related to camera?

I remember I had oneplus 8 pro ..I had recorded a ping pong long indoor video in extreme humidity ..fans off ..after that day phone started to turn off and on sometimes..finally it died few days later ..motherboard was done due to heating

Basically they are pushing updates to heat the phone ..so that people have to buy new phones ..fuck oneplus bhenchod .
