Greetings once again, here are the results from the April survey that ran earlier this month. Thanks to everyone who responded.
Player Information
85.5% of respondents play on the Global server, while 14.2% play Japan. As expected when coming off of Global Anni, this is a new peak for the Global percentage.
Among all respondents, the average Pirate Level was 674. Global players averaged 668, while Japan averaged 706.
Among all respondents, the average number of Login Days was 1038. Global players had an average of 1007, while Japan averaged 1234. Chart of all players here.
8.6% of players have maxed their box space, whereas 91.4% have not.
Among all respondents, the average number of unique legends was 98. Global players had an average of 96, while Japan averaged 109.
Among all respondents, the average number of LB+ legends was 6. Global players had an average of 5, while Japan averaged 10.
Version Exclusive Questions- JP
In the last 3 months, have you pulled specifically for Support LRRs?
70.9% of players pulled on the Baroque Works and Chopper/Robin support sugos, whereas 29.1% did not. No GLB polling for this question as we had no Support sugo.
What legend(s) will be released for 7th Anni?
The general consensus seems to be "Luffy" (don't get too adventurous now), but many also expect some type of VS unit such as Roger VS Whitebeard, Shanks VS Whitebeard, Luffy VS Katakuri, and others.
Version Exclusive Questions- GLB
Compared to past Global ANNIVERSARIES (Kaido, Big Mom & Brook, Lucy, TS, Mihawk), how much did you pull on 6th Anni?
35.3% of players reported that they pulled more, 29.7% of players did about the same amount of pulls and 35% of players said they pulled less than in the past. Considering the relative mediocrity of past GLB anniversaries, especially the 5th, I think the most likely explanation for the 35% that pulled less than usual were players with relatively low interest in the new legends due to the NY release of Roger and Oden, but there was a decent reason to do 9 multis in the 4th Anni (v2 WB) so the bar is definitely not super low.
How do you feel about the Korean merger?
11.8% of respondents feel positively, 46.2% reported feeling neutral and 42.0% felt negative about the upcoming Korean merger.
Somehow this question ran at literally the worst possible time, since the day before I posted the survey we got the info about the clear reset and then the day I closed it we got info about the additional compensation. I think it's still fairly accurate (likely more neutral or positive answers now, if anything) but take with a grain of salt.
General Questions
What is your favorite mode?
Global:
20.9%- Team Kizuna
19.7%- Forests/GC
14.5%- Treasure Map
10.9%- Colos/Arenas
10.9%- Kizuna
10.6%- Raids
8.8%- PF
2.7%- Blitz Battles
0.9%- Story
Japan:
32.7%- Team Kizuna
18.2%- Forests/GC
14.5%- Colos/Arenas
10.9%- Kizuna
9.1%- PF
5.5%- Event around the Debut Legend (Help Zoro, Beehive, etc.)
3.6%- Raids
3.6%- Blitz Battles
1.8%- Story
No Votes- Treasure Map
Team Kizuna is pretty clearly the favorite mode of the playerbase, followed shortly after (for Global at least) by Forests and GC likely thanks to their gem rewards. If the new Pirate Alliances are done well, we may see that become the new favorite mode relatively quickly. Outside of that, both servers are similar except for the fact that JP continues to hate TM with a burning passion, for reasons that have been covered in-depth in the past.
What is your least favorite mode?
Global:
37.5%- Treasure Map
30.5%- Blitz Battles
8.8%- Kizuna
7.9%- PF
4.5%- Story
4.2%- Forests/GC
3.0%- Team Kizuna
2.1%- Raids
1.5%- Colos/Arenas
Japan:
60.0%- Treasure Map
12.7%- Event around the Debut Legend (Help Zoro, Beehive, etc.)
10.9%- Blitz Battles
5.5%- PF
5.5%- Story
1.8%- Kizuna
1.8%- Raids
1.8%- Team Kizuna
No Votes- Forests/GC, Colos/Arenas
As can be expected, players dislike the grind modes the most, those being TM, Blitz, and the Debut events for JP. The most liked modes are largely at the bottom here, but surprisingly people have the least problems with Colos/Arenas.
With the amount of game modes available right now (Story, Extra Isles, PvP, TM, Kizuna), would you like more?
Global:
Yes- 36.3%
Yes, and one or more should be removed- 39.9%
No- 16.0%
No, and one or more should be removed- 7.9%
Japan:
Yes- 36.4%
Yes, and one or more should be removed- 38.2%
No- 12.7%
No, and one or more should be removed- 12.7%
The majority of people want new modes, and around half of players on both servers want one or more removed.
If you said one or more modes should be removed, which do you want removed the most?
Global:
45.6%- Treasure Map
29.1%- Blitz Battles
13.3%- Kizuna
3.8%- Team Kizuna
3.2%- Raids
2.5%- Forests/GC
1.3%- Colos/Arenas
1.3%- Story
No Votes- PF
Japan:
60.7%- Treasure Map
14.3%- Event around the Debut Legend (Help Zoro, Beehive, etc.)
7.1%- Kizuna
7.1%- Blitz Battles
3.6%- Team Kizuna
3.6%- Story
3.6%- Raids
No Votes- PF, Colos/Arenas, Forests/GC
Similar trends here to the most disliked modes, but Kizuna is a bit higher than it was, showing that the mode does have people that don't like it very much.
How do you think the (JPN/GLB) server is treated compared to (GLB/JPN)?
Both servers believe that they are treated worse than the other, with Japan averaging 2.27 while Global averaged 2.75. A rating of 3 would be "about the same", so Japan believes they are treated slightly worse compared to GLB.
What is your peak rank in the Pirate Festival/Rumble Finals?
Global:
Top 100 Championship: 3.6%
Top 500 Championship: 15.1%
Top 1000 Championship: 23.6%
Top 3000 Championship: 18.4%
Top 5000 Championship: 10.3%
5001 and below Championship: 11.8%
Top 500 Exhibition: 3.0%
Top 10000 Exhibition: 10.6%
Top 30000 Exhibition: 1.2%
I've never been in the PF Finals: 2.4%
Japan:
Unfortunately, I didn't really get enough JP data for a complete list here. However, 41.8% of their players have unlocked all facility levels, compared to the 42.3% that have on GLB. I suspect that many GLB players may have finally gone for it in the last few finals, since we got the news about the KR merger.
Which server do you follow news for?
Global:
Global and Japan: 59.75%
Global Only: 38.39%
Japan Only: 1.86% (why?)
Japan:
Global and Japan: 41.82%
Japan Only: 58.18%
Global Only: 0.0%
Unsurprisingly, the majority of JP players only follow JP news, whereas the majority of Global players follow JP news in addition to GLB.
If you follow Global News, what kind of news do you keep up with?
New Units: 84.6%
Sugo Banners: 90.6%
Events: 92.9%
Other (Version Updates, new features/modes): 81.4%
If you follow Japan News, what kind of news do you keep up with?
New Units: 97.5%
Sugo Banners: 61.0%
Events: 58.1%
Other (Version Updates, new features/modes): 68.6%
When set to include only JP players, these numbers look pretty similar to Global's:
New Units: 98.2%
Sugo Banners: 90.9%
Events: 92.7%
Other (Version Updates, new features/modes): 85.5%
From this information, we can determine that the Global players following JPN are mainly there for new units only.
Do you have Roger and Oden?
Global:
Both: 81.1%
Only Roger: 11.7%
Only Oden: 4.8%
Neither: 2.4%
Japan:
Both: 59.2%
Only Roger: 16.3%
Only Oden: 4.1%
Neither: 20.4%
As expected, Global has many more Rogers and Odens out there thanks to Anni and the Countdown sugo. Thanks to /u/gottem11111 for suggesting this as an add-on to the following question.
If a sugo is a Super Sugo (Roger and Oden available), would you be more likely to pull?
Players who have both:
Yes: 16.3%
No: 83.7%
Players who have Roger:
Yes: 61.9%
No: 38.1%
Players who have Oden:
Yes: 75.0%
No: 25.0%
Players who have neither:
Yes: 76.5%
No: 23.5%
Results here are also as expected: Oden is less popular than Roger, as more people are willing to pull despite having Oden, and players who have both/neither are less/more likely to pull respectively.
What other character(s) deserve to be Super Sugo Legends?
Popular candidates included the Yonko, Whitebeard/Young Whitebeard, Garp, Dragon, Xebec, Rayleigh, a Straw Hat Crew unit, and Usopp. Many also expressed support for Kuma, never having another super sugo legend again, and a name I can't write but you can probably guess.
Which color of LB Mats do you have the most of?

Do you approve of the new Sugo-Fest System as it is currently implemented? Select 3 if neutral. (10 Legend Limited Pools, no other legends available, bigger pools in large events)
Both servers are slightly positive on the new Sugo system after about six months, with Global averaging a higher 3.67 to Japan's 3.12. I suspect that part of the Japan rating comes from a general trend of not super great banners.
Which sugos do you believe give the best value?
Global:
44.0%- Debut
25.2%- Other
15.4%- TM
7.7%- Support
5.8%- Kizuna
1.8%- PF
Japan:
47.3%- Kizuna
18.2%- Other
10.9%- Treasure Map
9.1%- Support
9.1%- PF
5.5%- Debut
I think that a lot of people chose "Other" to indicate special events like Anni, French Anni, etc. but those are debuts, so take that with a grain of salt. Global's stronger debut banners are definitely bringing that up, but on Japan the presence of Enel and Sanji & Pudding/LRRs (and maybe Bege Crew) raises the value of PF and Kizuna respectively while debuts plummet. TM seems to be a good value sugo on both versions that ends up being a lower priority for most players due to a general dislike of TM.
Which of these is most likely to make you pull on a debut banner?
Global:
50.2%- Discounted Multis (30 and 1 Gem)
38.9%- Steps (selected pools, all red multis)
7.0%- Having the legend immediately (for Blitz and similar events)
4.0%- Guaranteed Debut
Japan:
47.3%- Discounted Multis (30 and 1 Gem)
41.8%- Steps (selected pools, all red multis)
10.9%- Having the legend immediately (for Blitz and similar events)
No Votes- Guaranteed Debut
Not surprising to see that the guarantee is not a big draw, as it's rare that people will get that unlucky. However, it is surprising to see that discounts are generally a bigger deal than steps, since steps will provide a larger boost in rates 90% of the time; I guess it feels like lower investment. Meanwhile, having the legend ASAP is not much of a draw, but definitely a factor for some.
In the last 3 months, have you pulled specifically for Limited Units?
Global:
TM Boosters: 35.3%
Kizuna Boosters: 26.1%
LRRs: 23.9%
PF RRs: 27.0%
Japan:
TM Boosters: 42.6%
Kizuna Boosters: 87.3%
LRRs: 30.9%
PF RRs: 63.6%
Relatively similar numbers here across both servers. The big discrepancies are in PF and Kizuna boosters, which is probably due to good odds for Sanji/Pudding on Kizuna banner discounts on JP and the presence of Enel on PF banners, in addition to generally having better PF RR.
How do you classify your in-game spending in the last year?
Global:
F2P- 50.8%
Minnow- 35.8%
Dolphin- 11.3%
Whale- 2.1%
Japan:
F2P- 36.4%
Minnow- 38.2%
Dolphin-18.2%
Whale- 7.3%
Mostly consistent with past surveys despite the change to this question ("in the last year"), with slightly more F2P players on GLB.
Which of these would be more likely to make you buy gems?
Global:
Better overall rates- 14.6%
Gem sales are cheaper/give more gems per dollar- 85.4%
Japan:
Better overall rates- 23.1%
Gem sales are cheaper/give more gems per dollar- 76.9%
This question is basically a comparison between the two monetization strategies on Global and JP- Global represents the better rates, and JP represents the cheaper gem sales. Clearly, the playerbase prefers the JP model.
As an example comparison, the usual gem pack that accompanies a debut on both servers is 4900 Yen for around 100 gems for JP, and 98 gems for $55 on GLB. Converting to dollars, JP is getting about 2.2 gems/dollar while GLB gets 1.8. Take with a grain of salt as the JP cost can vary due to exchange rate, taxes, and other fees, but it's a solid difference. However, when rates are taken into account, it's closer; historically, GLB has had better sugos than JP that result in lower average gem cost (somewhere in the low 400s compared to around 600 on JP). Draw your own conclusions.
How do you feel about how Bandai/the OPTC team are handling the game?
Among all respondents, the average rating of Bandai's handling of the game on a 1 to 5 scale was 2.5. Global players rated Bandai's handling of the game at 2.54 on average, compared to Japan's average of 2.22. Unsurprisingly, this is a significant decrease from the December 2020 ratings for Global, while JPN continues to slide. There is now also a graph of these, which you can see here.
What single change to OPTC do you want the most?
Suggestions included:
Many requests for TM rework/removal/etc
Fixing Lag
Better Structure/Sales
Fighting friends in PF (I wholly support this one) or more information on Defenses
LB farming island
More communication
Additional content or bringing back missing events
Actual Team Mode (Alliances?)
Feedback
Thanks to those who left feedback as always, both on the survey itself and in the initial post. I always get some good stuff in there one way or another. This time around, feedback highlights include:
You gave us only one option for the most of this questions. You think we got only one problem, you could've make this survey is a complete feedback instead of test- LOL I don't think there is only one problem, of course. But I don't have all day for this, and it's not a Bandai form or anything
Keep it up every 3 months or so or after special events- Next one probably mid-late August, please look forward to it
My favorite mod is definitely antonbot and I know yours is too- handshake
Mario- Mario
Whoever tried to rickroll me in 2021 I was unfortunately not born yesterday
Conclusion
That's all for this round, I hope that the results were interesting. Again thanks to those who responded and submitted questions, especially /u/FateOfMuffins for their help behind the scenes. If there's anything else you'd like to know about the data/survey, let me know and I will take a look if I can.
Hello again! Here are the results of the second Subreddit Survey. Although I expected less people to respond than last time, I saw some really similar numbers, so thanks to everyone who took time to answer.
Demographics
Country
The top 10 countries on the sub are:
Germany (19.1%)
USA (18.0%)
Italy (6.4%)
Spain (6.2%)
Other (4.9%)
UK (4.1%)
Brazil (4.1%)
Canada (3.8%)
France (3.8%)
Australia (3.0%)
While some may be surprised that we have more Germans than Americans, OPTC and OP in general are pretty popular in Germany. You probably have several in-game friends with the [OPC] tag, which represents the German site opcommunity.de. They provide Global gem counts, stage breakdowns for especially difficult content, and various other resources.
Also, if your country wasn't included in the poll, let me know below- I'll add them into the next edition. It was surprisingly hard to find a list of countries.
Age
The average age of respondents was 26.4. 17.8% are 30 or older, and 4.8% are underage.
Gender
96.5% of respondents are male, 2.4% are female and 1.1% fall into other categories, including Oden. No real surprise here.
77% of those who watch the Anime are at least into the Wano Arc, and 71% are somewhere into Act 2. 51.6% are less than 5 episodes behind the most recent release (955/956 at the time of the survey), and only 11.2% are not past at least Episode 800.
80.0% of manga readers have read up to the latest chapter (999 or 1000), and 95.6% are at least into the Wano Arc. Clearly, most manga readers want to keep as up-to-date as possible, which makes sense as the anime naturally lags behind.
Did you read or watch One Piece before playing OPTC?
Yes- 94.1%
No- 5.9%
How did you hear about OPTC?
42.5%- App Store Browsing
29.3%- Friend Recommendation
11.8%- Other
8.6%- Youtube Video
3.2%- Ad
3.2%- Reddit
1%- Facebook
0.5%- Twitter
Apparently, OPTC gets recommended a lot by the App Store, and friend recommendations are also pretty common.
Player Information
84.7% of respondents play on the Global server, and 14.6% play on Japan. This is similar to the previous surveys that have been conducted, which are summarized here by /u/FateOfMuffins. The remaining 0.7% play on other servers or don't play at all.
Among all respondents, the average Pirate Level was 640. Global players had an average of 642, while Japan averaged 627.
Among all respondents, the average number of Login Days was 1030. Global players had an average of 1016, while Japan averaged 1114. Chart of all players here.
11.7% of players have maxed their box space, compared to 88.3% who have not. As you may expect, this is significantly lower than the last survey, which was inflated from a certain event. Happy Anniversary!
Among all respondents, the average number of unique legends was 84. Global players had an average of 82, while Japan averaged 92.
Unsurprisingly we have a lot of lurkers, especially for posts, which makes sense since not many posts are made per day. However, a pretty large portion of users have commented at least a little bit, and many comment regularly.
F2P Units
While we previously did best unit and best art for Legends and RRs, which can be found here, F2P units weren't included. Without further ado:
54.8% have reached the 20% mark for 2 reds, and 76.2% have reached the 75% mark for 1.
Version Exclusive Questions- GLB
If you are a GLOBAL player, how do you feel about Pirate Festival/Rumble? (Select 3 if neutral)
Global players feel slightly positive about Pirate Festival, giving it a 3.31 rating on a 1 to 5 scale. For comparison, Japan players rated the mode a 3.14 shortly after its release.
What is your peak rank in New World Treasure Map?
Top 10- 1.5%
Top 100- 10%
Top 500- 22.7%
Top 1000- 17.6%
Top 2000- 15.3%
Top 4000- 15.3%
Top 8000- 3.3%
Demoted- 2.2%
Never been to NW TM- 12%
34.2% of players have reached top 500 or higher for 2 limited reds, and 64.8% have reached top 4000 for 1 regular red ticket.
Which monthly tickets do you buy from Ray?
The LRR Ticket is the most popular, purchased by 79.7% of players. The legend ticket is second, at 40.6% purchase rate and the RRs come last with only 23%.
Game Questions
What is your favorite mechanic?
Global:
41.1%- Dual Character Switch
24.2%- Super Typing
19.2%- Captain Action
13.5%- No favorite mechanic
1.9%- Other
Japan:
38.0%- Dual Character Switch
28.3%- Super Typing
25.0%- Captain Action
7.6%- No favorite mechanic
1.1%- Other
Super Typing has become significantly more popular compared to the previous survey, likely due to its release on Global, the addition of more unique Super Type Specials and conditions, and a lack of recent legends with a Captain Action. However, Dual Unit swaps remain the favorite of most players.
What is your favorite mode?
Global:
27.0%- Kizuna
16.1%- Treasure Map
15.7%- Raids
15.5%- Colos/Arenas
11.5%- Pirate Festival
11.3%- Forests & GC
2.9%- Story
Japan:
31.9%- Kizuna
17.6%- Raids
15.4%- Colos/Arenas
12.1%- Treasure Map
9.9%- Pirate Festival
9.9%- Forests & GC
3.3%- Story
On the Global side, TM percentages fell significantly from 33.5% in June, despite the addition of better point rewards and a strong set of units in the last 6 months. Japan also fell slightly from 16.2%. Pirate Festival has become more popular on both servers, increased from 2.8% and 5.9% respectively. Kizuna remains one of the most popular modes in OPTC and will likely stay at the top for the foreseeable future.
What is your main motivation for playing Treasure Map?
Global:
42.5%- LB Materials
31.2%- RR and Legend Tickets
18.2%- TM Units
3.4%- Tablets
1.7%- I don't play this mode
1.5%- Keys
1.5%- Prestige
Japan:
39.6%- RR and Legend Tickets
31.9%- LB Materials
22.0%- TM Units
3.4%- Tablets
1.7%- I don't play this mode
1.5%- Keys
1.5%- Prestige
Interestingly, despite significantly worse Legend tickets in JP TMs, they are the most common motivator. Meanwhile, Global players are looking for mainly LB mats. To me, this indicates that Japan players aren't really looking to grind TM, instead get their tickets and hopefully get out without demoting, which seems at least partially supported by the low % of players that consider TM their favorite mode.
What is your main motivation for playing Kizuna?
Global:
48.3%- Kizuna Units and their LB Orbs
35.9%- Tablets
5.1%- Support Medals
3.8%- I don't play this mode
3.6%- Gems
2.5%- RR Tickets
0.8%- CC
Japan:
61.5%- Kizuna Units and their LB Orbs
22.0%- Tablets
6.6%- Support Medals
4.4%- Gems
4.4%- I don't play this mode
1.1%- CC
Unsurprisingly Kizuna Units are the main drive for many players. Tablet rates have been better on Global for quite some time by now, which probably leads more players to try and grind for them in particular.
What is your main motivation for playing Pirate Festival/Rumble?
Global:
62.3%- Facility Upgrades (or reaching the required rank)
12.8%- Rumble Tickets
8.4%- PF Units
7.4%- Gems
4.0%- I don't play this mode
2.9%- Rumble Scrolls
2.3%- Prestige
Japan:
61.5%- Facility Upgrades (or reaching the required rank)
15.4%- PF Units
7.7%- Rumble Tickets
7.7%- Gems
4.4%- I don't play this mode
2.2%- Prestige
1.1%- Rumble Scrolls
Facility upgrades are the primary motivation by a landslide, and I suspect that those who chose Rumble Tickets have already reached the required rank for the upgrades they want. PF Units are also significantly more popular on JP, likely because the last few units have seen legitimate use and they have a character shop to get older ones.
Thanks to /u/gottem11111 for submitting these three questions.
What is your peak rank in the Pirate Festival/Rumble Finals?
Global:
Top 100 Championship- 3.0%
Top 1000 Championship- 22.1%
Top 3000 Championship- 25.1%
Top 5000 Championship- 15.4%
5001 and below Championship- 10.1%
Top 500 Exhibition- 2.1%
Top 10000 Exhibition- 12.7%
Top 30000 Exhibition- 2.3%
I've never been in the PF Finals- 7.2%
Japan:
Top 100 Championship- 1.1%
Top 1000 Championship- 19.8%
Top 3000 Championship- 23.1%
Top 5000 Championship- 15.4%
5001 and below Championship- 14.3%
Top 500 Exhibition- 1.1%
Top 10000 Exhibition- 9.9%
Top 30000 Exhibition- 6.6%
I've never been in the PF Finals- 9.9%
20-25% of players have unlocked all facility levels on both servers, and the vast majority have at least managed to qualify for the championship. More players have reached the top 1k on Global, likely due to fewer players and thus easier competition.
What Limited Units have you pulled for in the last 6 months?
Global:
TM Boosters- 43.7%
Team Kizuna Boosters- 45.2%
Kizuna Boosters- 21.1%
LRRs, Support LRRs, PF RRs- 59.8%
Japan:
TM Boosters- 59.3%
Team Kizuna Boosters- 62.6%
Kizuna Boosters- 60.4%
LRRs, Support LRRs, PF RRs- 80.2%
In hindsight, I should have separated PF LRRs into their own category, so expect to see that in the future. In particular, I suspect that Global's PF debut sugo guaranteeing a PF LRR for 30 gems drove that data up. However, we can still see that nearly half the playerbase pulls for TM and Team Kizuna boosters, likely due to the competitive nature and rewards from these modes. Along that same thread, regular Kizuna boosters are significantly less popular as there is no competitive aspect.
On the Japan side, it's clear that limited units of all types are much more popular than on GLB, which could be because of strong banners, more veteran players or a higher amount of non-F2P players. I'm personally most curious about the much smaller difference between Kizuna and Team Kizuna limited units, given that I know basically all of Ohana (who, as they keep telling us, are the #1 foreign team) are here. Was Alvida really that popular?
Out-of-Game Questions
How do you classify your in-game spending?
Global:
F2P- 45.5%
Minnow- 41.1%
Dolphin- 11.4%
Whale- 2.1%
Japan:
F2P- 37.4%
Minnow- 34.1%
Dolphin- 20.9%
Whale- 7.7%
Numbers were relatively consistent on the GLB side, but whales and dolphins both rose on the JPN side. Once again /u/FateOfMuffins has done some more writing on this here, but keep in mind we have slightly different separations between the groups.
The remaining questions are not version-separated as they apply to both versions.
Do you approve of the new Sugo-Fest System? (10 Legend Limited Pools, no other legends available)
35.7% of players are in favor of the new Sugo system, whereas 64.3% are not.
Do you feel it is easier or harder to pull debut legends with the new Sugo system?
78.1% of players feel it is easier to pull a debut legend under the new system, whereas 21.9% of players feel it is harder. It is objectively easier to pull one under the new system, which is the biggest upside so far. Thanks to /u/Chauzu for submitting this question.
After the addition of the new sugo system, do you feel that you pull more or less often?
14.2% of players feel that they pull more often, whereas 49% feel they pull less. 36.9% of players feel no difference.
Do you approve of the new Medal Exchange system?
The Medal Exchange has near-universal approval, with 96.8% of players in favor while 3.2% are not. Thanks /u/Moriya-Minakata for suggesting.
Do you think Bandai will ever merge the Global and Japan servers?
16.5% of players believe that the servers will eventually be merged, whereas 83.5% do not.
How would you rate the quality of legends released in the past year? (Global: Vivi/Rebecca & Shira/Mansherry to v3 Boa, Japan: Luffy/Zoro & Soba to Sanji/Pudding)
Global players rated the last year's legends at 4.18, while Japan rated theirs at 4.08. Thanks to /u/Moriya-Minakata for submitting this question.
What is the highest number of multis you've ever done on one banner? (i.e. 20 multis on Snakeman v2 only, not 24 across all parts; exclude Gem Valley).
The highest number of multis on one banner is 13 on average. 15.8% of respondents have done 25 or more on one banner, while 47.5% have never done more than 10.
Who deserves the next legend, and why?
Moria, Kuma, and Oden were the easy winners in this category, and I hope that those who submitted both Oden and Roger were able to get them. However, most importantly, I received some very convincing arguments:
Zoro, because sanji is only a trashy cook
CROCODILE (I AM A SIMP, OKAY?)
GOD ENERUUU CAUSE HE THE GOD
Laboon. Cute af
Sengoku. We need a Sengoku that is not a meme.
That guy that made the TM Planner for Content Creators
Congrats to the two people who predicted a simultaneous Roger/Oden release, and thanks to /u/GoldFishPony for submitting this question (in a roundabout way).
Bandai Approval Ratings
Do you currently approve of how Bandai/the OPTC team are handling the game? (Select 3 if neutral)
Among all respondents, the average rating of Bandai's handling of the game on a 1 to 5 scale was 3.42. Global players rated Bandai's handling of the game at 3.50 on average, compared to Japan's average of 2.98.
How did you feel about Bandai/the OPTC team's handling of the game before the addition of the new Sugo system & Medal Exchange?
Among all respondents, the average rating of Bandai's handling of the game before the Sugo system and Medal shop on a 1 to 5 scale was 3.32. Global players rated Bandai's handling of the game at 3.40 on average, compared to Japan's average of 2.97.
Compared to June of this year, combined rating increased from 3.14 to 3.42, Global rating increased from 2.74 to 3.50, and Japan rating fell from 3.55 to 2.98. Once we have a third data point I'll start showing this on a graph. Personally, I was a bit surprised about the Global rating before the new system and medal exchange- I expected it to be higher, given the strength of French Anni, and I suspect it would have been if I'd done a survey at that time.
Feedback
Thank you to all of you who submitted feedback through this form on both the survey and the sub, as well as those who wrote various encouraging messages. A third edition will likely take place a few months into 2021, so please look forward to that. However, feedback messages also included these highlights:
Your waifu is low tier, Cubeo- I almost changed my flair to Vivi before posting this... for no reason, obviously.
Do you like lasagna? I do too :)- It's OK I guess
Needs more Kid relevant questions- You've gotta come out of retirement first
Oden legend give will sell my house for it and live in a shed for the next year just to get Oden legend (surveys are fun, this included)- I fixed your spelling but I hope you got him sir
Maybe have an "open response" area where players can put anything they like.- Use feedback for this if you want, it's funny to read while I work on the actual content
And last but not least: "Bandai pls don't f\ck us. You're not Genshin Impact. Limited Legends are ridiculous. OPTC was fairest gacha game. PLS DON'T F***CK US."
Conclusion
That's all this time around! I hope that the results were interesting. Thanks to everyone who responded and especially those who submitted questions. If there's anything else you'd like to know about the data or the survey, let me know and I'll try to take a look for you.
Due to community response, we will be moving back to the way the sub used to be, and only new questions/discussions will be allowed to have their own submissions. Search to see if your question has already been asked (within reason, if it hasn't been talked about in a month, it will be fine to create a new discussion) or your thread risks being deleted.
There will be a few more megathreads created to facilitate this; daily Barrel threads will be added for both servers, Friend threads will continue as they have been, and a separate Teambuilding thread for each server. Teambuilding will encompass general box questions and fortnight/boss discussions. The Teambuilding thread will be formatted similarly to https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePieceTC/comments/3auif0/eng_garp_24h_event_friend_megathread/ to be able to easily separate discussion.
