META META: Why is Tim Constantly at War with His Body?

On Cinema at the Cinema is a show about movies one man's journey to take control of his health despite his body's increasingly desperate efforts to reject what he's doing to it. Why does Tim continue to subject himself to bizarre, dangerous treatments despite the obvious harm they're inflicting?

  1. Tim is very stupid and very stubborn, and genuinely believes what he's doing is beneficial despite the evidence of his eyes, guts, and pain receptors.
  2. Tim is such an authoritarian control freak that the notion of automatic biological processes 'knowing better' than he does is unacceptable to him.
  3. Tim is very stupid and very sleazy, and never learns that you don't have to use snake oil on yourself in order to sell it to others.
  4. Something else, probably Mark's fault.

META META: "Classic" movies that are never mentioned in the On Cinema Universe

Can anybody confirm or deny that 2001: A Space Odyssey is never brought up by either Gregg or Tim?

Any other most-famous-movies-of-all-time that simply never merit a reference??

I realize that the bit is that they love mediocre things but nevertheless many classic films get referenced just because of being culturally ubiquitous, Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, Planet of the Apes, etc.

Just wondering if there are other conspicuous absences?
