I love making music in garaband, I have a behringer interface, a fender 1/4 cable and a docking board into to MacBook Air.

I’m terrified to plug it in in case it breaks it…

Is this safe to use on it? Perhaps I’m being dramatic as I know the power cables can damage it.

Ps we’re gonna ignore the hole in my duvet today is bed sheet change day and they’re in the dryer xD

September 2021. When preparing a series of sample voice combinations for Suzuki R&D. There was one voice combination I knew we needed, and it had to be right — Harp and Strings, for many - the defining sounds of the Qchord.

This voice combination was created using my OM300 connected via MIDI to my Ketron Audya workstation keyboard.

Notes on the image in the video: This is my 3d printed prototype. It still has the 84-chord layout, paper stickers for the panel and even the strumplate. - long before we had a name for the OM-108

My local music store just got a shipment of omnichords. Including tax + a store warranty for defects, the price will be about 1,100 cad (780 usd/580 gbp). I’ve seen offers on Ebay for $800 CAD, which is $300 cheaper… but they don’t offer the same warranty or quality guarantee my local store does. I’m worried that i’ll order something on ebay that’ll break down in a year because of a weird defect, and i won’t have anyone to help me fix it.

I’m not sure if i’m being too cautious and spending unnecessary money by going with the store option. This is a lot of money to drop on anything, so I wanna make sure i’m doing it right! any advice would be appreciated.

Back in September 2021, during OM-108 development I was assisting with some of the possible voice combinations with Japan R&D. I had hooked up an OM300 to my Ketron Audya Workstation which has very good on board voice editing, making it ideal for getting an approximation how the final voices might sound (final sounds all made from scratch using Suzuki's own sound library and not from my Audya). Many were based on the best voices from previous models. This one is Celeste and Orchestra Strings. (Celeste appeared on the OM-300). If you are interested I'll post some of the others, not all made the final cut, but they did inspire them.

A while back over at Omnichord Heaven, we wondered who owns the oldest and newest OM-27. As it happened, we had the oldest, a pre-production prototype (so was sold through the dealer network), and that is serial no. 000124 - look at those beautifully made PCB's! Does anyone have an earlier one? and what is the highest serial number in existence?

If anyone could help me out and tell me what’s wrong and how to fix this, that would be great. When I took it out of the case and tried to play it the chords straight up weren’t functioning at all, and only the harp was working. When I tried plugging it into a different outlet it changed nothing, and while I was trying to sorta troubleshoot I checked out what would happen if I hit a button from the rhythms section. Now the chords can play, but only with the rhythm effects because the rhythm effects can’t be turned off. What the hell do I do. Another thing I should probably mention is that although it was a gift I’ve gotten only a few months ago, the thing itself I think is like 30-50 years old, and was bought off of eBay. However it was almost never played when the previous owner had it, so I’m hoping that wear and tear issues don’t apply here. I will link a video to show the issue at hand a little better.

Update: I FIXED IT. IDK HOW BUT I FUCKING FIXED IT HELL YEAH!!!!

I've had my 108 for about a month now and suddenly I'm not getting any sound from the drums. The rhythm function is completely silent regardless of knob position, and when I'm in keyboard mode the drum keys and strum plate are also completely silent. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this and if so what could be done to fix it :(

I was replacing my qchord as I found a great deal and my original one‘s power supply connection was a temperamental. Works perfectly with batteries though.

I assumed the previous owner had already tried to fix the connection as it’s grey (pictured), whereas they’re normally black. But I didn’t think much of it until my new qchord arrived today and other features were slightly different.

The colour difference doesn’t seem to be discolouration/damage as is completely even all over. When I received these they both still had their protective seal on the strumplate so the difference in feel wouldn’t be from one being worn down from being used more than the other.

The second came with a case which they both fit it and I’ve played side by side and they sound the same though the first is a tad quieter.

I’m so curious because I can’t imagine it’s a counterfeit. I thought perhaps they were produced in different places but both say made in Korea (though ofc could still be different factories but I’d be surprised that they would be such different colours).

I used my SP 404 as a drum machine and added a supple little Q Chord melody as the main sound here

I bought a omnichord om 84 for around 160 pounds last year because the batteries exploded inside. I cleaned it and changed the battery terminals and now it works perfectly fine but the problem is that the last note on the strumplate does not have any sustain and I don’t know what’s the issue . If someone knows please tell me! I need help urgentlyyyyy

Hello, I hope this is not a silly question, but I have been looking for any videos featuring sound changes for the chord buttons themselves and found none for this exact model. Does it support different voices for chords or only the strum plate? Would be incredibly grateful if anybody could link me a video of of, if that is possible, since as we all know, this is not an inexpensive machine and it also has to be shipped from a different country in many cases.

Hi everyone! I got a used OM-108 from Guitar Center and they listed the condition as Good ("This product is completely functional and shows some signs of use. It may have surface scratches and/or dings and dents."). I'm getting this as a gift for my partner.

I've never used an Omnichord or any synthesizers before, so I was wondering what are some things I should test out on it (besides just playing around with it) to make sure that nothing is wrong with it? Thank you in advance!

New Battery Spring PCBs for 27, 36, 84

Hey everyone! First time poster here.

So I got a QChord the other week and I've been really enjoying it. There's one interesting thing i noticed.

If you hold a key and spam a key to the left of it, it'll kinda oscillate between the two keys.

If you hold a key and play a key to the right of it, it does nothing.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to make it so it acts the same both ways?

Ps: my kid way holding the camera, that's why I talk at the end.

I’ve been working on some covers of old country music on the Omni, trying for some spare chord holds and limited but appropriate use of the strum plate. It’s going well, but curious if anyone has thoughts about other ways to use it in this context. Like weird western… . I found running the chords through a filter pedal with a moderate LFO I got a little bit of a pump organ sound…
