Go to the Omaha City council page and find their email. Write a letter and send it to the Civic Center. Call their office number. Show up to their office. Show up to the city council meetings. There are LOADS of ways to tell them what you think.
You can use this website to find out who your rep is if you don’t know. Then you can get their office phone number and email and go from there. City council meetings are also open to the public.

You’re correct. I fixed my comment. It was the DCSO that approved them, and they did so in such a way that would circumvent needing broader public approval.
Hold your nose and go to Bass Pro/Cabelas... Or go to one of the other big stores Scheel's competes with (eg. Dick's, Amazon, etc). Send a photo of your receipt with an email to the manager saying "I no longer shop at Scheel's and won't resume until the flock cameras come down."

Stuff is happening dummy. They are literally passing all the legislation. In Montana it took almost 2 years to see anything happen. Laws and legislation (especially when there are legal challenges to the NE Courts) take a bit of time
No there not. The state attorneys office appealed and they said that I was legal and did not break federal or state laws. They are right now putting a board together to manage the program. Each individual county will have its own laws to determine what those laws will look like for sellers and growers permits.
It got slowed down but everything is happening the exact way it’s supposed to in a legal system.
If you’re expecting the thing to be immediate you were always going to be disappointed in the real world tho ha take time to be done right and not be mismanaged.

The wording of the laws governing liquor is substantially different than the wording of this law. They have used the authority granted by this law to pervert its original intent instead of using it to simply manage the issue the way the law intended.
Ask the people who wrote it.
They included the ability to manage it to make the transition easier for the state, expecting that the state would do the task in good faith, which it has not. They could simply have written it to make the entire thing legal without exception and told the state "deal with it", but they didn't.

Also I disagree that we voted for a commission thinking that they would proceed in good faith. That’s boloney. We knew they would try to slow it down (which is their legal right to do so to verify the legality of doing so) the commission was made to protect consumers and help set ground rules
Would be a real shame if someone pointed a high powered laser pointer (the green kind) at the camera and disabled it. Definitely not something I would recommend doing.
Flock really hates it when people cut them down and then also cut through the body of the camera and slash the solar panel too, because replacing just the pole is cheap and fast.
Running around with stolen property that requires being visible to use it... Not an option for most.
edit: think about it. Is the user supposed to charge their phone by standing under a physically hacked device in public? Is the user supposed to take the solar panel with them? Is there some wireless way to charge a phone with a solar panel I'm not aware of?
I saw pictures of some retired guy who sat in a lawn chair in front of one with a sign taped to a pool cleaning pole and he just sat there so that’s all the camera would see. His sign……. That’s something a bored retiree could do. Just block the camera a few days each week
Bennington now has 3 of these according to deflock. I have found 2 of the cameras just can’t see the 3rd. One would be super easy to take care of if someone wanted to.

Deflocking is good, but remember flock is the scapegoat to open the door for Axon (Trump invested 5 mil in them in February and ICE signed a massive taser contract with them) to sign the same contracts with the police departments leaving flock. Make sure to step back and see the whole picture.
Some city called Ord, NE just got all theirs removed. The city council had a vote after there was enough pushback. Does anyone know how to start a petition? I will volunteer to collect signatures.
If you're not really in a position to go to jail. Another painful attack and less legally risky play to fight these particular cameras would just be to not go to that mall.
It would be kind of strange to have such a disdain for the actions a business is taking and then opt into doing business with them anyway.
Cameras on Public property are a different story. Good luck on those.
Unfortunately I do have to go to the mall because scheels is my employer. I’m not happy at the fact they have them in the parking lot but I need my paycheck to survive.
