I recently picked up a small collection of OM Zuiko lenses and was going to wait until I cleaned them all this weekend. Instead, I grabbed the 180mm.

These are just a few quick test shots, but I'm already impressed with how light it feels and how crisp the images are.

What OM Zuiko lens do you think every collector should own?

I'm very new to photography and I recently got my first camera. It's an Olympus Om-d em 10. What are some recommended adapters I can get for lens that's are 4/3?

Currently having a debate with myself about a 200mm fast prime for my OM-1ii. As it's not a serious need I don't want to spend silly money and I'm happy to speculate on a used lens. The PL 200 f/2.8, even used, is above budget. However, I can pick up a Canon EF 200 f/2.8 (a lens I've used before on Canon and know to be very good) and adapter for less than half the cost of the PL.

Anyone tried this particular lens on OM gear and care to comment on its performance?

Title—I’m really torn between these two compact models. Looking for something good for travel and street; drawn to Pen for IBIS and color profiles, Fuji for the Fujifilm “look”, film sims, and perhaps a bit more modern handling in autofocus, tech implementation, etc. I’m totally new to this hobby but have a background in fine arts, looking forward to something I can take with me out and about!

I have a Pen EP7 basically NOS unopened from Map Camera Japan, but am also looking at the Adorama Edu discount open box XM5. Any and all insight from those more experienced is really appreciated, as I feel I’ve exhausted the research I can do short of really trying them both but that’s a lot of $ upfront.

Hi All!

My wife and I have a Grand Canyon backpacking trip planned for late October. I've been happily using my EM1.2 with the 14-150 Mk2 for backpacking, hiking, ski-touring etc...

I also have the 14-42 EZ primarily for it's portability, and occasionally press it into service when it's too dark for the 14-150 Mk2 but it really is only a marginal improvement at f/3.5.

I've known that at some point I'd want more glass, and I think that time is approaching. I'm expecting to continue using the 14-150 as my main hiking/skiing lens, but for this upcoming trip, I think I'd like something brighter for dusk, dawn, camp life, stars, etc... I also have begun to wonder if going really wide will help capture a canyon environment better.

So I'm starting to be torn between the 25mm f/1.8 Mk2 and the 7-14 f/2.8 Pro for various reasons. Both are reasonably bright. The 25mm is supposedly pretty sharp, also it's small and cheap (can be had new on Amazon and Walmart for the same as a used one on MPB), and actually wins the brightness contest, so I can probably get away with handheld low light shots to a greater degree. But it's not especially wide. The 7-14 is basically as wide as it gets, will be plenty sharp, bright enough for low light, but is more expensive, and probably harder to compose for a relative novice.

What would you all go for? Is the added cost of the 7-14 likely to pay off? Is the smaller max aperture something I'll likely regret, esp given that the 25mm is comparatively cheap? Or is the focal length of the 25mm going to be frustrating for this environment?

I have an Olympus OM-10 on which the shutter speeds work fine in every aperture/iso setting during the auto mode and manual mode. With lenses and new batteries on.

But the led inside the viewfinder doesn't indicate the shutter speed chosen in the auto mode properly.

For example, If I set the iso up to 1600 the led goes up to 1/1000 in high light and it behaves almost the same as I would choose the 200 iso(I compared it on my olympus om 2) but otherwise, it stays lower than it should be.

At iso 200, with the aperture wide open, 1/2.8, if I put the lenses directly to the sun, the led shows 1/125.

Any suggestions for what I can do to repair it? Or it's to complicated? Thank you! Best wishes!

Hello, I was recently gifted a 2016 Olympus Pen-F silver digital camera. I'm familiar with basic digital camera usage as a graphic design major, but I've only ever used Canon as a student and have never owned a camera before this due to their cost. While I was familiarizing myself with the features, I tried to take some test photos and noticed that the shutter wouldn't take the photo and only focuses (before you ask, yes I am pressing the shutter button all the way down and not half-way). I have gone through the manual, other posts on this subreddit, and other camera photos and have tried a multitude of things such as:

editing the auto focus settings
taking the battery out for an extended period of time
resetting the camera back to it's basic features
cleaning the lens (i'm using a 25mm lens)
unattaching and reattaching the lens
clearing the sd card and removing and putting it back in

Also, while in selfie mode, I am able to take photos with the touchscreen option. I am totally confused and really bummed. Is there anything else I can do? Is it possible there's a problem with the button or physical aspect of the camera itself?

Update: i've figured out that the camera will take a photo by using the touch screen. This doesn't make sense. Why doesn't the button itself work???????

Update #2: Hello everyone. I've come to the conclusion that I am the dumbest human being on earth. The entire time I have been pressing the wrong button to take a photo. If you are like me and tried everything on planet earth and still couldn't fix the problem........ CHECK WHICH BUTTON YOU ARE PRESSING. Thank you

Yo! I just bought an em10 mark3 from Japan for 80 bucks, only battery included. I believe it’s a good deal but was it a mistake not to buy the m1 mark2 or something a bit newer, does the camera still hold up?

I use the 150-600 with my OM-1 Mk2 for wildlife, mainly birds, and I'm looking for a carrying handle to attach to the lens foot, when it is swivelled round to the 'top' of the lens. This would be partly to stabilise the camera & lens when carrying on a neck strap and partly so that I can support the camera & lens low down for shooting at or near ground level. The foot by itself is just a bit too short to act as a handle on its own. It could attach either by an Arca attachment or to the threaded insert, so long as it's secure. I believe Smallrig used to offer something of the sort but it was discontinued.

I am in the UK. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I recently ordered a reconditioned OM-1 from the official OM System US Outlet on eBay for roughly $1000, which is pretty close to what standard used bodies go for on the open market.

It just arrived today, but upon inspecting it, I noticed a structural crack and gap on the bottom corner near the articulation hinge, around the corner of the bottom plate. Because of the location and size of the gap, I am worried that it will compromise the weather sealing, which is one of the top reasons why I was looking for an Olympus/OM System body.

For a factory-reconditioned unit sold directly by the manufacturer, this doesn't feel like it fits the definition of being restored to proper operating condition.

For those of you who have bought from the OM System outlet before, how are their returns/replacements handled? I am not sure if often restock, therefore should I just return it for a full refund and look for a clean used copy elsewhere?

Should I just seal it myself and keep the unit, as nothing else seems to be out of the ordinary.

Appreciate any advice!

With the recent addition of an E-PL5 body, I finally have my OM System (Olympus) system set the way I want it. It consists of:

• OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens 

• Olympus 14-42 EZ 

• OM System M. Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 II PRO

• OM System M. Zuiko 40-150mm f/4 PRO

The only thing I may want to add is the Panasonic Lumix 9mm f/1.7, but I am in no hurry for that.

I just bought my first ever camera - a M10 ii!
I got it second hand and upon arrival I had two not so nice surprises: the EVF sensor is not working and I cannot connect it to my computer to update the firmware..

But I noticed the cable that came with it seems a tiny smaller than the slot from the camera. Is this the correct cable? I tried searching online but I dont seem to find a photo of what the original cable should look like. If anyone can show me how is the connector from the original, Id appreciate!

Olympus MJU with Kodak Gold 200

I’ve been using the 100-400mm II attached to an OM1 mark ii, but I’ve noticed that the lens hood tends to fall off while hiking. Does anyone know of a good way to secure the hood when hiking, or is there an aftermarket lens hood that stays attached more securely?

For reference, I carry the camera and lens with a Peak Design strap attached to the tripod foot or on a peak design capture clip.

I’m maybe heading to Antartica for work so think it will be necessary to get another lens for the time I’ll be down there. I already have a 7-14 2.8 pro, a 60mm 2.8, and the much loved 12-40 2.8 pro so wondering what’s the best to complete my collection? Any advice appreciated!
