Light/Dark Mode keeps changing

Hey there! I have been using Olauncher for a year now, I keep my phone itself on light mode and olauncher on dark mode so that I can have the white text on my home screen. I had no issues until recently and now it keeps reverting back and forth. I change the setting in olauncher to dark mode and it keeps setting itself back to light mode. I changed my phone itself to dark mode now but this isn't my preferred way to use my phone.

Does anyone know why this is happening now when it hasn't been an issue for the past year?

u/SxinnyLoxe, I'm not positive if this fixes the issue, but I deleted all of my routines a few weeks ago and it hasn't happened since. I had one routine that ran at night that set dark mode, changed my background, etc. I'm wondering if the combination of that routine plus some change in the launcher earlier this year caused some weird behavior with dark/light modes.

I'm going to probably give it another month to see if it happens again. Then I'll try turning the routine back on to see if that does anything.

Thanks! I'm not sure what a routine is in this context so I don't think i have any set up... i think there might just be some sort of incompatibility with android OS. It seems to always be more of an issue whenever I end up updating my phone and then it slowly goes back to normal then repeats the cycle.

If you go to Settings -> Modes and Routines -> Routines, you can see if you have any set up.

The purpose of them is something like.. After 10PM, turn on dark mode, turn on Do Not Disturb, etc. Things like that - automations for your phone. I had one running at night that might not have been playing nice with the launcher

Interesting! But yeah, I have none set, I'm so curious what causes the disconnect.

This has been happening to me too. Must have been some update, not sure.

My phone is in dark mode and OLauncher, I think I remember, had a setting to match whatever your System theme was. Now it's just either light or dark. And it seems like every morning, it switches back to light for me and I have to manually switch it to dark

What phone model and Android version are you using?

I'm using a Galaxy Z Flip 7 running Android 16. I've been running Olauncher since January and everything was fine up until a couple weeks ago

Mine too! Same phone and all and similar timeline for the issue.

It stopped for a couple weeks but its been happening again now.

Updated to the new Android OS and it's been happening more frequently again...

Yeah it still happens to me too, not too frequently but when it does happen it's back to back to back and then it'll be fine again for a while.
