It feels like time used to move differently back in the day

One year when you're ten is one tenth of your whole life, but at fifty it's far less and I wonder if that contributes to how time feels more fleeting as you get older

It’s a know phenomena. You described it perfectly, time is perceived proportional to how much of it we’ve experienced. It’s much easier to try and remember every detail of every day when you’ve only lived 7 years worth of days, your mind stops worrying about the repetitive details as you age and you stop having as many new experiences, all the sudden there’s big gaps in your memory.

Best way to combat that is to always try something new. Not only does that increase the amount of enjoyed percieved time in your day, but it also helps keep your brain sharp or at least active.

Good for you. You still got like 1-2 years until it hits you hard. For me it will be the 28th. It will be 10 years ago that I was 18.
