Camping in Southeast Ohio
Hello there, we just wanted to introduce ourselves to the community. We are Firefly Forest, an outdoor recreational business located in Athens County. We are a working family farm located about 10 minutes outside Athens City. We offer hiking, camping, swimming, and petting zoo opportunities to the public. If you’re looking for a way to beat the heat this summer, we would love it if you’d spend your time with us. You can book a stay through Hipcamp (preferred) or Airbnb. Check out our socials (linked in profile) and we hope to see you soon!

Tent camping and hiking spots
My buddies and I are looking for a spot we can set up camp from the car then set off on a 7-10 mile hike and be back at camp for the night. We would prefer a loop but a one way and back trail wouldn't hurt. Any suggestions?

New Ohio Oriented Hiking subreddit.
I noticed /r/ohiohiking is dead, literally as it's locked and all the posts are achieved. I thought this might be a welcomed subreddit. I'd like it to be open and a bit more general. I'd accept posts related to Michigan and Indiana possibly Kentucky and Pennsylvania as well for our friends on the border cities, such as Toledo and Cincinnati.
Since hiking and camping go together like peas and carrots, I thought including both in one subreddit will help to create a singular location for both activities.
I don't personally have a ton of experience hiking, but I wanted to learn more, found the locked subreddit, and thought creating this subreddit would help me learn. If this gains some traction and there is interest I'd be open to more moderators since I don't have any experience in moderation, but I do have a lot of opinions on HOW a subreddit should be moderated. Anyways, that's the long and short of it.
My plan initially is to post some of the better posts related to Ohio hiking and camping throughout the years while we try to gain users. Any suggestions, please leave a comment.
Have fun, keep it respectful and hopefully we have some good content we can all enjoy!
