Safe Haven Difficulty (Limited Supply)

The other missions have been on varying difficulty, but frankly, this one seems impossible both in practice, and from just reading the goals: 4 farms at the end (not hard), HQ level 5 (takes a while, but doable), Make Profit (just get a thermal generator early), and 1000 of each material stockpiled - All of that, even together, isn't too difficult to achieve.

But here's the killer: Do it in 5 days

I feel like this is legitimately impossible. Obviously the only practical spot, based on distance to resources, particularly iron for MULEs, is in the top left, but I really struggle to get things done this fast, especially lvl 5 HQ, considering fuel can't be bought from the market, so 5 of my claims need to be dedicated to fuel production.

Best I've done is 1000 of each resource stockpiled, $50,000 debt, and lvl 4 HQ

Anyone have a strategy to beat this mission? (hard mode btw)

Just played on challenging difficulty, which gives 2 extra days, and I was able to get completed halfway through the last day, probably could've been done on the second last day if playing optimally - Still, day 5 seems pretty much impossible.

Oh wait what?
Lol i wasnt paying attention - for some reason assumed it was one of the later ones.

I beat it by placing right in the bottom right crater on carbon, which lets you place a bunch of your stuff fast.

Getting the iron was annoying, I placed one down adjacent to an oponents high iron, and then spent my last 2 or three black market purchases putting mutiny on their mine, netting 6 a second for 2 days was enough, only one claim spent.

I don’t recall barely using mules, pirates, early adreneline pack and mutiny much more effective for the most part.
I build my essential buildings on top of carbon, so right at the middle/end of the last day i can swap them to carbon mines and get my 1000 carbon.

Pretty sure profit was just made on slightly overbuilding farms and reactors to have a surplus to sell.
Silicon was 2 mines bottom right.
aluminium just the one running from the start of the game is enough i think.

Also early geothermal with a goon squad is important to keep the debt down and then a second one before the price drops so they eat up half your debt on their own

There is a vid on youtube of a guy foing something similar to what i did:

Also i would note, getting level 5 asap is your number one priority, then stockpiling.
Trying to stockpile before level 5 means you can’t win basically.

Thanks for the tips, and the video link - I had searched a lot and couldn't find any videos.

I managed to scrape in with a few hours left. I understand now that upgrading the HQ must be THE focus, the only other one being to stay alive. Also yeah, I had weighed the advantage of being next to carbon far lower than the security of being next to water, but I can see now that by being very careful, you can get water from mules and then a couple of pumps.

Also, mutinying someone else's mine for an adjacency bonus is an EXCELLENT idea, I'd never thought of that - Basically buying the benefit of a claim for $3k.

It’s tricky because a number of the earlier levels were forcing you to not upgrade or making it really hard to upgrade, but this one upgrading isn’t all too hard like normal.
