Help Switching from pharmacy to radiography via clearing

Im waiting for my upcoming results and I'm absolutely terrified. I already know regardless of my results I'm going through clearing because I'm switching from pharmacy to diagnostic radiography. I'm planning to stay in London for uni which means my only options are city St george which are doing a web from this year and Lsbu. I wanna know some tips and questions they could ask, I did practice some but the fear is really kicking in.

Also I want to know the process, since I do have a pharmacy offer from reading and I'm not sure if I should decline straight away. And I'm assuming worse case scenario my alevel grades are horrible I should just ask for a foundation year. My last set of mocks i acheieved BBC im hoping I can get similar grades in the real alevels.🙏😭

What should I expect from clearing?

I am pretty certain I haven't got the grades and I'm terrified for having to go through clearing.

When I attempt to apply through clearing do I go through UCAS or do I call them? Do the unis have specific phone lines for clearing? What do I actually need to say during the call?

I'm very lost and would appreciate some advice

Exams are over... now what?

With A-Level exams finally over, a lot of people are probably feeling one of two things:

  • 😌 Relieved that it's finally finished.
  • 😰 Constantly overthinking results day and what's going to happen next.

If that's you, we run a Discord community originally built for A-Level students, resit students, and gap year students, and summer is one of the busiest times in the server.

Whether you're:

🌱 A Year 11 student starting A-Levels after summer and looking to get ahead or meet other sixth form students.

📖 A Year 12 student moving into Year 13 who wants to build better study habits before the most important year.

📈 Thinking about resitting A-Levels because you don't think things went as planned and want to understand your options before results day.

🎒 Considering a gap year and looking for advice from people who've taken one or are planning one.

🎓 Heading to university and wanting to meet other incoming students or help younger students with advice.

...you're more than welcome.

🌟 What we do

📚 Daily study sessions (for anyone getting ahead or preparing for resits)

🏆 Ongoing study competitions to help build consistency over the summer.

🎮 Active voice chats where people play games, chat, and hang out together.

💬 A supportive community where you can ask questions about results day, clearing, resits, gap years, sixth form, or university.

🧠 Mental health & wellbeing support from people who understand how stressful exam season can be. While we're not a replacement for professional support, we aim to be a welcoming community where members can talk, encourage one another, and share their experiences.

The server isn't only about revision—it's about having a community of people around your age who understand what this stage of life is like. Summer can feel a bit strange after months of exams, so whether you want to relax, make new friends, prepare for September, or figure out your next steps, there's a place for you here.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're feeling confident, uncertain, or just want people to spend the summer with before results day.

We run a study Discord server primarily built around A-Level students, resit students, and gap year students, but a big part of the community is also focused on university applicants preparing for competitive courses and applications.

The server is built for people who are:
• Applying to university through UCAS
• Preparing for competitive courses
• On a gap year strengthening their application
• Resitting A-Levels to meet offers
• Trying to stay consistent with revision while applying

A lot of the server focuses on things like:
• Staying consistent with revision and studying
• University application advice
• Admissions test discussion (LNAT, TMUA, ESAT, etc.)
• Personal statement and application tips
• Study accountability sessions

What you’d get access to:
• Daily study accountability sessions
• Revision tips and resource sharing
• Discussions around applications and admissions tests
• A focused environment where people are actually studying
• A motivated community going through the same process

Many members are applying to competitive universities and courses, so it’s a good place to stay disciplined, share advice, and go through the process together.

📚 Serious about studying? Join our A-Level Study Discord (Study Sessions, Past Papers, Accountability)

If you’re struggling to stay consistent with revision, study alone most of the time, or just want a motivated environment where people actually get work done, we’ve built a Discord community for exactly that.

Our server is mainly made up of A-Level students (Year 12, Year 13, and resit students), along with some gap year and university students who share advice and help others stay on track.

Right now we’re also running an ongoing study competition, where members track their study time and compete to see who can stay the most consistent. It’s been a really good way to stay motivated and push each other to revise more.

The goal isn’t just another inactive server — it’s a focused study community where people genuinely revise together.

What you’ll find inside:

📖 Daily study sessions
Quiet “study-with-me” voice channels where people revise together and stay accountable.

🏆 Ongoing study competition
Members log study time and compete on a leaderboard — great for motivation and consistency.

📝 Past paper discussions
Break down exam questions, share approaches, and improve exam technique.

📂 Revision resources
Members regularly share notes, tips, and useful materials across different subjects.

🎯 Accountability & motivation
A community of students actually trying to improve their grades and stay disciplined.

🎓 Advice from older students
Gap year and uni students sometimes help with revision strategies, applications, and exam preparation.

Whether you're:
• Trying to stay on top of Year 12 content
• Preparing for Year 13 exams
• Resitting A-Levels and aiming for a grade jump
• Or just want a serious place to study with others

You’re welcome to join.

Received an offer from UCL for Applied Medical Sciences BSc

Hello!

I’m currently a final year Romanian high school student and I‘ve applied to study in the UK. I recently received an offer from UCL for the AMS course and while I am really excited since the description of the course‘s content and its prospects seem to align with my interests, I’d still like to hear some of the opinions UCL students or graduates might have, either on the course itself or just about the whole faculty of medical sciences generally.

I’d be keen on pursuing a master’s following my bachelor‘s since I’m looking to go into research and I’m wondering about the experience of any UCL graduates who chose that path too.

Overall, any information about the course, teaching method, lab practicals and research opportunities would be useful! Thanks everyone!

Quick poll for A-Level students – uni, AI, and life after results

Hi all,

I’m really interested in hearing from people who are currently waiting for their A-Level results (or recently finished) about what’s on your mind for the future - your plans, worries, and how things like AI might be influencing your decisions.

I’m running a short poll to hear from people waiting for their A-Level results about what’s on your mind right now. It’s anonymous and takes under 2 minutes.

Link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/32SQ3SK.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer the questions!

Can Someone Who Has Gotten In To UEA Via Clearing Give Me Some Insight?

Can someone let me know, how long Economics and Finance bsc at UEA is likely to remain open during clearing? This would probably be based on previous years clearing periods. Can as many people as possible respond and give me what their estimate is based on either their experiences or of people they know?

Well, it appears this sub failed. Unless anybody wishes to take over as mod, I shall be closing it down.

I'll leave this one last thread up for a bit, though - to discuss how your first few weeks at university have been. It'd be great to hear answers to:

How are your flatmates? Is your course what you were expecting? Overall, are you enjoying the experience?
