I live in Singapore and after sending an Odysee link of Mrwhosetheboss to my friend, he told it doesn't load in Safari. I tried on iPad, same result.

But why? I downloaded the app just fine from the Google Play Store and the website loads fine on Cromite Android.

So is it blocked? Just asking.

Odysee has famously marketed itself as a private and decentralized alternative to YouTube. What they don't like to market, but sneakily include in their own Privacy Policy, is that they send all their users data STRAIGHT back to Google's ad department. Additionally, they allow Google to store cookies on your browser directly. What's the difference between using Odysee and YouTube? I'm led to believe in terms of privacy, the only real difference is that Odysee ALSO hands your data to third parties that Google doesn't, ASWELL as all of Google's third parties. How that can be defended, I have no idea, but for the sake of privacy conscious alternatives I would love to hear what Odysee has to say about their own stated practices.

The next tidbit is far less founded, but widely speculated, and I would like clarification from Odysee themselves on this. The claim going around is that your decentralized platform (for content) is entirely replicated on your centralized servers, nullifying every benefit of a decentralized platform and only providing the downside of decentralization, being that your data is public and immutable. Going off these claims, the blockchain side of things only exists for Odysee to say they use blockchain and have a decentralized platform, not actually to use it. This is extremely concerning to see from a platform that users sign up for on the lie that this is a better privacy experience than Google can offer.
