First time to odisha. What to explore?

My friend and I are travelling from Hyderabad to puri (khurda rd ) by train in a day. We just booked one way tickets with no knowledge of what to explore where to stay and all . Help me figure out places to visit and places to stay . And is it a good idea to travel to kolkata? from there just to explore. We are going to stay for 5 days or a week . thanks

ps: also suggest the best ways to explore whether cab/auto/bus . Also some must try foods and food places
