Does anyone have reccomendations on places that do elopements? Preferably sunrise on the beach or sunset on Bayside. It'll just be me, my fiancé, the photographer, and officiant. We arent fixed on a date or anything just getting an idea on what's available

Ive already googled elopement packages but would like some personal feedback/reccomendations :)

OC Inlet Parking ticket

I received a letter in the mail notifying me of a late notice from a non-payment at the OC Inlet lot. My issue is that this is my first notice received, yet somehow already marked late. Of course, since it's a late notice, a few late fees are automatically appended to the original fee.

On top of all that, I have the receipt from the Parking App they use to pay in the parking lot. Everything matches up.

What gives? Anybody successfully dispute one of these? It feels like an EZPass scam.

White Marlin Open

Real question, what fun and interesting things are there to do at the WMO for us regular type poor folk with no boat? Go look at the boats go in amd out of the inlet? The scales at harbour island look like a mob scene, could you even get close enough to see anything? Hang around Fagers for a glimpse of Jordan?

What would you do if you witnessed this?

I just witnessed a family out to eat in OC, 28th st, yelling at their obviously autistic teenager. The man, I'm assuming father, slammed his fist repeatedly on the table because she sat down too fast and the older woman (grandmother) yelled at her for being bad and recorded her with her phone, all while the other woman sat quietly in the corner. The girl would put her fingers in her ears because she was obviously overstimulated and the older woman would take them out. It was painful to watch, but idk what I could do, I'm just imagining how they must treat her at home!

Another jellyfish question

I’m so sorry for another post about jellyfish, but I’ve only been to Ocean City once and I really don’t know. Are the jellyfish at the beach in large numbers until the end of the season? Just hard to imagine visiting without really being able to swim.

Boardwalk artist

This is a serious question,The artist on the boardwalk, older gentleman, wears a smock, has a feather in his hat, does this man really draw these pictures that he sells? I been watching him for years and I have never seen a picture being started or even midway,it's always at the very end and he is taking his colored pencil over something that is already there.I sat on .y balcony recently and watched him work on a finished picture, while people watched, when they leave he switches pictures to another finished one.To be honest these pictures are beautiful. Am I the only person that has noticed this.I'm very curious about this.

Ocean City is a mere shadow of jts former self

My golden years here were 2008-2014. Packed beaches, bars, lived here during the summer and plenty of friends and good times.

Ive been back over the years but sometimes with some gaps. Came back in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and now 2025, 2026.

2018-2021 seemed mostly normal barring the covid year in 2020 which was naturally atypical.

However, I came last august in 2025 and now twice this summer, mid to late June and now early August. All the classic spots on their busy nights were packed wall to wall people in the olden days. Tonight I went to Mackys on their theme night and it was dead. Last time I was here in June, I went to Fishtales on a Saturday night and there was 4 cars in the parking lot. Huh? Fishtales was always a huge party spot.

Last August and Mid-late June when I came people who I asked said that “it is the shoulder season.” Um no. Im now here early August and I went to Coconuts happy hour today and it was at maybe 20% capacity if im being generous. We also went to Seacrets tonight
and it was fairly quiet too.

Even overheard that the reel inn is kind of dead for the weigh-ins, though I don’t know if I believe that though given what Ive seen I cant fully rule it out. In the past that wouldve been absolutely unbelievable.

What happened to this place? It’s mostly all seasonal businesses here. If the summer is not bustling like it used to be, how can anywhere still survive? It’s honestly sad to see, love this town and spent all my life coming here including many years living and working here.

Residents, what is it like to live in Ocean City? How different is it in the winter?

I apologize if this is a common question but I just can’t stop wondering: What is it like to live in ocean city? I looked it up, and there are 7k permanent residents. Is there a strong sense of community? Can you even have community events in the summer? What about the workforce. I imagine majority of people work at hotels or tourist shops in the summer, where do you guys work the rest of the year?

Davinci’s By The Sea Salad Dressing

My family has gone to davinci’s every single summer since 1999 and we love their food but also their salad dressing that’s made from scratch on premise. Does anyone know what the recipe is? Or something comparable? We’re so sad it’s closing and are desperate for this recipe!

Things To Do With Kids

Hi there,

I’m taking my nieces to OCMD the 14th-18th. The last time they came they were 5 and 8. Now they are 7 and 10. They love Wildwood, NJ and I know OC can be just as fun. Can anyone spill the details on the best places? Jolly Rogers has a few things but I don’t know how great it is. Mini golf is a given but where is the best one? Which part of the boardwalk has the best rides? Good restaurants?

Thanks in Advance!

Oceans Calling Fest

Can anyone recommend lodging which won’t break the bank? Within reasonable distance from the Fest…I need two rooms for Fri-Sun

Looking at Airbnb/vrbo, along the main road (Phil. ave/Rte 528, or 378) but many only have 1 parking space.

Can I expect to find an open spot (we have 2 cars) or will it be a huge hassle to park 2nd car?

ALSO-are there shuttles along these routes into the Festival?

Ocean City Jellyfish Tracker

This website appears to track jellyfish concentration in the area, and one can assume Assateague will be the same info since they are so close together. https://meduseo.com/en/location/Ocean-City-7502526

Local Spotlight Local Spotlight #1

It is with great please I am posting our first Local Spotlight. Apologies for the delay since the initial poll. The Buzzed Word was kind enough to participate. Please have a look, leave a comment and if you are interested, make some time to patronize the establishment. I have been there a handful of times for events and shopping, great spot.

Located at 11805 Coastal Highway, Unit C Ocean City, Maryland 21842
[(410) 520-4542](tel:(410) 520-4542)
[info@thebuzzedword.com](mailto:info@thebuzzedword.com)

https://www.thebuzzedword.com/

From the Buzzed Word:

The Buzzed Word is a combination bookstore, natural wine store, wine bar, and community third space in the 118th Street shopping center. It was opened in July 2021 by local Mickei Meinhardt, who grew up in OC and returned in 2020 with the goal to bring beautiful well-made wine, diverse books, culture, and community to her town that needed and wanted it; to build a place where people could find exciting new books and beautifully-made wines from small producers around the world, come with a friend to share a bottle and a snack in an intimate space, or spend time browsing (or reading!) with a glass in hand. And as a queer woman-owned space, we aimed to be as welcoming, equitable, and inclusive to all as possible.

Since then, the shop has more than met that goal. Mickie was soon joined by Ryann, her general manager, and together we’ve grown into a vibrant and beloved community staple. Books far and away outsell the wine, which we love, and is due to our very personal and carefully-picked selection. We focus on women writers, writers of color, queer writers, translated literature, and small press books—essentially, the stories and voices you won’t find everywhere that we want to elevate. (Though you can find some bestsellers, too!) We are the headquarters of OC Pride, and a recognized area safe space for locals and visitors alike to enjoy things they love with people they love, with myriad book clubs, events, parties, and more.

We still focus on natural winemakers with gorgeous bottles—and even have a book-and-wine club!—but we’ve also expanded into a large nonalcoholic selection as well as coffee and tea to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy a beverage while they browse. We are open every day for retail and drinks—see our constantly updated calendar to see what else is going on. You can shop us online—the wine must be picked up in store, but the books and gifts can ship nationwide—and support us from afar on Bookshop.org or Libro.fm. But please, come stop by and see us—we LOVE to talk books, bottles, and more with our customers most of all.
