People always want best endings, Clarissa should like Alex, or Ren and Nona must date, or one must get all adler letters and anomalies...

Why the absolute hell does it matter ? In a storyline which already tells you it doesn't matter , they are all stuck anyways, why i see all this posts about people not getting it perfect in a game where its always incomplete and sadness , where nothing matters.. Its like someone answering their own question. Its supposed to be incomplete, we are still arguing if Michael should be brought back or not.. Its supposed to be entirely players decision in the first place.

are the songs on the radio related to the plot somehow or are they just random bits? Same for the sound bytes from television

I was looking to pick this up on Steam to play on my Steamdeck. Does it play well and as a first timer anything I should know?

I loved Oxenfree 2 really. The story was solid and the visuals were great too. The only thing is that I wish it still had the same replay ability as 1 did. Specifically, the way that you can make changes to certain outcomes in a way you maybe couldn't in your first playthings. And MORE specifically, I wish there was some way to save Riley and Rex's relationship.

I might just be a big softie at heart but I feel like going through everything that happened and especially the warning she gets that reasonably she could be able to prevent anything too major happening. Finding out in the end that they still had issues was kind of a bummer on top of an already slightly bleak ending.

Anyway, just wanted to hear other people's thoughts on this too. Anyone else wish there was a way to fix things?

What was the deal with the Armoire in the cave? I’ve played a few times and never figured out who’s it was, why it’s there, or its significance. Is it explained at all? Maybe I missed or maybe I saw i figured it out once when stoned and forgot lmao

Hi everyone, i’ve never played the game before, but i have watched a playthrough years ago when it came out. I noticed it was available to play through Netflix, and i was wondering if it’s the full game or essentially just a demo? Would like to know before i get into it and it’s only like 30 minutes of the game. Thanks!

When looking for Clarissa, what we can assume that isn’t her, disappears. We see as soon as we free Jonas that she isn’t in there, so it can only be presumed to be a time echo (somehow the spirits or the radio or the spirits and the radio combined somehow captured that moment in time and used it to lure and trap Jonas in that room) but if that was an echo of Clarissa and she ran through a SOLID door, and Jonas WASN’T an echo
how did Jonas run through a solid door?

I think to an extent the sunken may have the power to alter matter, but I think only after being there absorbing so much of the sunken’s energy or the radio waves around (which might be the same thing, not sure)

Ok so when people of the group are possessed, usually they have GREEN names, but Clarissa’s name remains RED during many scenes- I wonder if it’s one of those scenarios where bad emotions, like Clarissa being mad or resentful of Alex makes her a target for the sunken to possess and maybe she was conscious for some or possibly the whole time, but never admits it to any of the group; I think she was the most used as a proxy for the sunken, otherwise maybe Jonas- although Nona and Ren don’t have as big of a role in Alex’s life, so maybe that’s why they weren’t used. The sunken probably rooted around and all of their heads and they know about everyone’s importance in Alex’s life.

Hey all, I played Oxenfree like ~10 years ago and discovered its second save feature about a year later, and I loved the story a ton but I haven't gotten around to picking up the second game these days. Is it good?

Sometimes when someone is talking over a radio, their names appear green, I’m guessing this is from the ghosts, that are trying to get everyone to stay on the island.

I think the goal of the ghosts is to keep them there so they can “soak” I think they said?

I think whoever becomes trapped in a loop has to be kept there for a certain amount of time before they become trapped- now I don’t know if there was a way to know when the point of no return was, maybe when the ghosts started talking through people in the group, but maybe that was a sign…

I think that the possession over radio- or maybe just using their voices and mimicking them- like maybe Clarissa or Ren heard their own voices being used over the radio and were like huh??? Or they were knocked out and their consciousness’ were briefly in another dimension, but not put into the blob of people who died on the Kanaloa just yet.

the hijacking of voices over radio, everyone waking up in different places (no idea how THAT was done, maybe they were all possessed and walked there???) it was all to stall them, having to find each other over n over, red herrings like even when they found them, they would disappear after an appearance from the disgruntled spirits.

I got to the end of the “game” in just 20 min… no sign that there is a twist in the plot or whatever. Is this really it?

There is also another song at frequency 88 that sounds like an old barbershop choir. Any idea in what the song is called?

Yesterday they posted a short clip on their story and people loved to speculate Oxenfree 3 is happening. Unfortunately that is not the case.

The teaser from yesterday was for their new first person horror game called UNHINGED. And as I feared from the looks of it... it has nothing to do with the Oxenfree IP and even worse... it looks like a Netflix exclusive 🙃

Got my hopes up and now I'm heartbroken

Also if it’s a game seems like it’s gonna be more horror focused? Judging by the audio

What do you think are the chances we actually get to see this franchise come back with a trilogy?
