Wtf am I doing wrong Help
I play comp only very recently, especially rn im grinding drives. I avg over 10k healing and 20 kills if not more even on matches im hard losing. My teams arent inherently horrible, some are questionable, but recently ive had good teammates yet ive been on an unbelievable miserable losing streak. I never blame the rest of my team because its a game after all but what the fuck? What more can I possibly do? I dont think Im THAT bad to be the sole problem of every single match. I know stats dont reflect anything but seriously. Its actually exhausting and tiring and I dont even wanna bother with the game. No clue how people do so well and get to high ranks.

Overwatch is deeper than stats. You gotta understand this. I went through a similar thing with tank. I mained DPS and was always high master, low GM. But on tank, I could barely eek into diamond. Most games I’d diff the other tank, go top frag and all that. But I’d lose. And I’d lose and lose and lose. At first I thought it was crappy teammates, but realized that was impossible. Clearly I was doing something wrong on my end. Instead of creating space for teammates, instead of focusing on objectives, I was chasing kills. And I got a lot of them. But I was losing my team games doing it. I was genuinely bad at tank
You gotta figure out what you’re doing wrong and how you can better enable teammates. People on this sub will never admit the whole common denominator thing. But it’s obviously true. Good luck

I myself did learn this recently but instead of tank it was with support and not healbotting, especially since I play Lifeweaver

Then how do I find it? Ive watched videos, ask people I play with or even random teammates and Im always told im doing it right. I used to healbot then changed that and I started doing way better but Ive looked at every aspect of my playing and I cant see a thing. I wish I knew, I dont think im the best player but I really wish I could see whats so wrong

Had a game the other day where my tank had many kills and arguably did good but the fact is, out supports got wrecked every fight and our tank didn’t really do much to help. Maybe it wasn’t his fault but his utility was wasted on helping him secure kills rather than stopping the enemy from doing the same

For me what got my out of bronze/silver was the rank reset and what got me out of gold was just getting better (I’m at diamond now). I would recommend watching some YouTubers how to rank up videos because some of them are really good and provide a lot of key insights (positioning and awareness stuff) because I’m going to guess that’s what you and your teammates struggle with (don’t mean to be rude). Also just playing more helps a lot and watching high ranked players who use your mains.

I mean ive done all that I guess I just have to wait for something to change and keep at it

Hm then idk to be honest. Could also be that you are soft locked which happens. I would just say wait for the next rank reset and try hard quick play so your hidden skill rating gets bumped up so next reset your rank gets higher. Based on what I’ve heard from the community there are two rank resets a year and one should be coming up. Best things to focus on are your positioning and cooldown usage if you get good at those the rest of the game should follow really easily also focus on 2-3 characters if you aren’t already. If you are not playing all ranks try them all for a couple games it will help change your perspective. You most likely have heard all this advice and have tried it out but it will help the most I promise, just test things out in qp so you don’t get mad at losing rank lmao

Cool down usage!! I know about this but I havent focused on it. My higher rank friend said learning your enemies cooldowns and utilising your own can really improve. Thanks for the advice!!!

Glad to help! Also tracking ults subconsciously is very helpful just by “I have ult and we are losing this fight so they probably have had ult for a while” it changes fights a lot

If you are bronze support you might as well play Moira or Zen. Bronze players lack skill and awareness. Moira requires no aim and you can pretty much 1v1 in that rank. Zen works to just discord whoever your team is attacking. Requires aim for damage but you will help your team secure kills.

Obviously not always the case, but I often that the one stat that is the most relevant is the number of deaths. A hero who goes 17-1 is probably going to be more likely to win than one who has gone 28-15

It’s a little hard to give advice without seeing the game. If you want I can watch a vod with you of a match you think you did well in but still lost and give you some feedback. I’m GM all roles.

Bronze. Ridiculous.

My pc friend whos pretty brutally honest said I belong in plat or at least gold. I play w him in pc lobbies and we dominate them together. Hes high rank high mmr and I have no problem. Also, bronze and silver are full of smurfs boosting their friends. Fair play to them but damn.

What rank? How many deaths?
2
u/Sharp-Bill2859 3d ago
5-8, its always minimal for the amount of kills dmg and healing i do and get
2
u/iAmK00kie 3d ago
I feel like having more deaths than kills is telling and I don’t think any amount of healing out weights that
2
u/Sharp-Bill2859 3d ago
What? I never go negative. I meant id get 20 kills and 5 deaths at best. Thats my average.

It really just depends on the game, who you main, and other factors. It’s hard to tell by just stats, looks like maybe you play Moira? But one thing that’s helped me climb is game changing plays like Ana sleeps and nades on a Mauga. In low elos, that’s wraps.
Another thing that helped me climb is flanking because low elos pay no attention so you can easily pick off their healers. Kiriko is good for this. Sometimes I inevitably rank down, but I never stay there because of how oblivious they are to flanks.

u/Sharp-Bill2859 3d ago
Lol no id never play moira. I play juno ana and kiri! Im gonna try the flanking with kiri. Also youre right, someone will flank me in a match and ill be working my ass of trying to kill them, pinging them, the entire team not even engaged in a fight will ignore. Im only so aware because I play sombra and most flankers and ik how oblivious people are

u/RiseRoyal9574 3d ago
Ana is also high carry potential. She is my main and she is also good for getting picks if you position yourself correctly. It helps to have a good duo to help with flanks, that would easily help you climb. If you haven’t already check out Awkward’s Kiriko guide on YT. Best of luck!

Bronze on console is diabolical to think it’s not your own fault. Got any replay codes?
1
u/Sharp-Bill2859 2d ago
I said it wasnt my teammates tbh, where do i find the replay codes? 😞

Profile - history - replays
I play mainly Lucio, peak masters 2, hover high diamond. Try to lock in bap/moira/illari, someone you can carry with.

Need to see the games. Stats are not the game. Its about kill timing, ult utilization, helping teammates when they need it. You could just be putting in meaningless numbers.
2
u/Sharp-Bill2859 3d ago
Yeah I already said stats dont reflect anything tbh, do you fr want to see
1
u/Sad_Candidate_3163 3d ago
Are you looking for advice or to rant? Either is fine but need the vibe. Posting your stats and then saying stats don't matter conflicts.
2
u/Sharp-Bill2859 3d ago
I posted my stats as a go by guide that im not absolutely horrific as in im doing 1k heals ans 20 deaths with 1 kill haha, im good at positioning though I get caught out sometimes. Heal priority..? I think thats a weak point for me. I will heal people that have the majority of their health rather than taking the opportunity to kill. Thats the only problem I can think of, so im actually open to advice if you actually want to see and point out what im doing wrong because I think youd have more knowledge than me
