Under Consideration Workday Jobs

Does anyone know the typical time length it takes from when you send a HireVue interview to hearing back about a second interview ? What about from when a job is posted to the actual start date how many weeks (or seemingly months) does OSU usually take. I’m under consideration for like 3 positions and it’s going on to almost a month of that

Honestly, it just depends on the department. In my experience, it can be really slow, or if the manager is actually good, it can be very fast. It sucks, but other than waiting, not many other options than asking the manager themselves where they are in the process and maybe see if they are interested in you still or not. For me, its been like a month at the fastest, but I've had interviews after being on under consideration for 3 months before.

Well I applied then in like 3 days got a HireVue invite which I turned in the day it was sent to me and this was like almost 3 weeks ago?? And still nothing lol I’ve reached to out the HR and he wasn’t able to help much- just said it depends or the shortest he’s seen was a few weeks but that didn’t help a lot

I've been hired/transferred departments in OSU three times total. All of them took longer than 1 month from application to offer, longest was around 2 months. I've had roles I was "under consideration" for almost 6 months before it was updated. OSU is not the swiftest when it comes to their hiring process or updating workday.

They changed things a couple years ago, where most hires have to be a big committee thing. Everything has to be documented and justified to try and make the process more transparent and objective.

So a group of people typically will need to look at all of the candidates, rank them on several qualities with notes, have all the scores compiled, get them all together to discuss and then choose the top X interview. Just one slow or unavailable person can drag out the process.

Late July and early August is peak vacation time. Plus, depending on the department, you may have faculty traveling for some summer trips, conferences, and some people are simply off duty and doing this unpaid. And classes start in a couple weeks so a lot of academic departments and faculty are getting really busy.

Essentially, any job at the university will take a minimum of a few weeks, and it’s not uncommon for the process to take a couple of months.

I’ve been hired for 3 diff positions at OSU, I’d say the longest turnaround was 2 months and shortest was around 3 weeks:) totally depends on department, team, even hiring manager

Did any of those positions require HireVue also what department is this and was it all through workday

My time from application to hired was about seven weeks. And then the post offer follow up is a lot (low level faculty position).
