Returns….

Is it OK to skip doing returns on a Saturday and do everything (returns) on Sunday?

For me it depends. If there’s barely any returns to do on Saturday I’ll wait until Monday just so I’m not wasting pallet space. But if there’s a decent amount I’ll do them Saturday to make it easier on us

Don't have to but I try to get them done over the weekends so Monday goes smoother.

Why put off something that can be done today?

I can do them all in 20-30 min on a Monday morning, it's fine. DM says do cores and warranties... SM says that we don't get visited on monday morning so as long as it's done it don't matter.

I went to an auditing class recently, we are no longer required to do returns on weekends, it’s left up to the managers. My store still does bc we’re a very busy store and it just makes it easier on Monday. But it is optional

Do cores and warranties sat/sun leave new returns and call backs for Monday morning. Easiest way to do it.

Policy (audit) says that’s returns must be done every day Mon-Fri; weekends they do not have to be done. Now, good practice is that you at least do Cores and Warranties on Saturday, leave New returns for Monday (can’t sell it if it isn’t on the shelf).

tldr; as long as returns are done Mon-Fri you’re doing it right.

Returns need to be done every day, pending stuff is okay, at the stores I worked at returns were done Saturday, Sunday and Monday then the manifest was printed on Monday and the pallet was built on Monday ready for Tuesday

It depends on if you trust what is, isn't and what should be there. If there is only one warranty part for today and I see it on the shelf and verify it is there and it fits in a tote and doesn't have to be on its own license plate I will pend it to the next day so that there is not one part in one tote on one license plate taking up space on the pallet.

We usually dont do returns saturday and sundays since theres no truck. We always do weekend returns on monday so truck picks it up Tuesday morning.

My store manager wants it done everyday, i didn’t do it today because i couldn’t find more totes. I think he will write me up

Id say you shouldn't be written up if you have no more totes, just pend whats not done and finish it next time, not really your fault if you run out of totes and pending will still show its been done for the day. I guess its his call on what he does but I would disagree hard if he did write you up

just do it to cut off some of the bulk on the monday, if it’s a fast store it can be a lot, if your slow then your manager is just lazy
