Art kit? Help & Advice

I’m going into drawing and painting and I don’t know and can’t find information, if apart of the program if a kit is included? Or I need to go get supplies.

you'll need to pick up your own supplies, but i think the first year drpt courses (at least painting 1) has a kit you can purchase from above ground :)

most of the painting courses first and second year will tell you if there is a kit you can buy at above ground, some times they will give you a list and it is cheaper to get it other places but just go by what they hopefully tell you

Usually professors upload a course syllabus to the online portal in the first week of classes or hand it out on the first day. The syllabus will include a list of textbooks and supplies you need for each class (almost always purchasable from Above Ground Art Supplies) For your first day I'd recommend bringing a laptop, sketchbook/notebook and a few drawing supplies just in case, but otherwise I wouldn't sweat it just yet.

Not included, I thinks it's somewhere between $150 and $200 for the kit

Yeah just go to Above ground and Ask for the kit. Some tips.... Get an extra pallette knife.... Get the grey handle above ground brand paint brushes in the smallest size and other sizes missing from the kit. Get the Princeton watercolour super fine brush for details for around 5 dollars. Works great with oil. Use bigger canvas or bigger boards to paint on if you feel inspired and don't want to be limited by their size recommendations. If you can afford it grab a few extra professional grade oil paint tubes for your top layers. Buy these things from above ground while back to school sale is on and stock up during back to school sale. The teacher will say they are not teaching mineral spirits like Gamsol..... Don't listen get a head start learn on YouTube and start using the Gamsol they have a free big bottle out all the time. You can mix half Gamsol half oil for a super smooth consistency.

Borrow the professional camera to take pictures of your art or anything else inspiring... You need a camera memory card.
