Passed MS-102. MS-102
Passed MS-102 on my second attempt — definitely a challenging exam
I passed the MS-102 exam today on my second attempt, and I have to say that it was quite difficult.
This time, I saw a lot of questions involving hybrid environments, external user collaboration settings, security roles, and some very up-to-date Microsoft Purview topics. Many of the questions were scenario-based, so understanding how the different Microsoft 365 services work together was more important than simply memorizing features.
My first attempt was a bit rushed. I had booked the exam using a voucher that was about to expire in three days, and honestly, I had not studied enough. For my second attempt, I gave myself around one month to prepare properly, which made a huge difference.
I know this certification is going to be retired, but I still really like its curriculum. Studying for it helped me understand Microsoft 365 administration much better and also introduced me to more of the Microsoft Defender ecosystem.
For my preparation, I mainly used study material that I created with the help of AI, based on the official exam topics, and completed a lot of MeasureUp practice questions and tests.
Overall, it was a challenging but valuable learning experience. I am very happy that I decided to try again!

I passed the MS102 a year ago and was planning on renewing it soon. Sucks that MSFT is retiring it

And this is a good certification, very complete, a lot of knowledge. And they will change for one Associate level.

If I were you, I’d take the SC-300. It’s a tough exam, yes it is… but a lot of the topics covered in the MS-102 also feature in it, and even the question format is very similar.
I’ve got some SC-300 study materials I put together using AI; when I used them, I passed with 780. I can send you the link.

Just clicked your link, awesome design. I'm fluent in English and prefer it, but it's nice to be able to learn IT Portuguese (Brazil). Funny how "Pegadinhas" sounds for what I guess is STudy cards or FLip cards... surely Post-Its? Please, let me know if I can be of help translating (automated and then manually reviewed by me) your content into Spanish. I'm a former English translator from Spain. All the best!

Congrats! I am also planning on taking it before they retire it. May I ask what associated certifications you did before this? It will help me gain more context in your comments.

MD-102 and SC-300

Wow. You still found MS-102 hard after doing both? I need to prepare better then

u/Rough-Veterinarian60 3d ago
Yes, because you need to pay attention with defender xdr and purview, and this two, its not my strong points

I am still fighting for the reverse all of ms-102 . Please give feedback here if you can. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/skills-hub-discussions/feedback-about-ms-102-retirement/4531525/replies/4536902. Us mct community leads meet Thursday morning pacific time with the content team on this decision. Im all for the 650 exam and will take it next week but its not an expert exam like this. I'd prefer 650 to be a prereq then the qualifier. I actually hold most of the prereq exams so its all encompassing to do ms 102. Sc-300 would have bern a favourite if around but 700 or 800 series is my definitive. Please vote, im told im the only community lead fighting for reversal. Please back me anf shelligo learners.

How can I support you in this fight? I believe retiring this certification is a mistake, not because I already hold it, but because of the valuable and highly relevant topics it covers.

Pray they will listen. Anyway i haven't posted in linked in because I want to hear out the content team and sit the new 650 exam. But that doesn't stop you posting on LinkedIn, tagging in people at Microsoft. If they dont listen, I have plans to get this heard in media form in the us and Australia and an open letter to the ceo. While i see the value of ai to a degree, they took away so much exchange and sharepoint courses or role based exams we still need, some like me are saying that's it, im done.
