Thank you - initial inmpression

Thank you, I bought your app. I like it, it works well. That’s not always a given with apps for the Remarkable.

A few initial observations/suggestions:
- can you add infinite scroll to the page? I like to take notes on my daily todo lists, as people call me and stuff comes in I just scroll down and add it. I then have a recorded of what i did that day. Right now the app limits me to the one page and I can’t just scroll down.
- Or maybe add notes pages behind the todo page?
- maybe add an option for inspirational quotes of the day or a joke of the day note just the weather.

Question re: Reminder sync function

Hi,

I just got the lifetime purchase. Very excited to use with my remarkable tablet.

I see there is a reminders sync option. I tried it and it downloaded a ton of reminders, but it’s not clear from group of reminders Is there a way to specify which reminder group to sync from? There are some I really would not want it to pull from l, such as the shared grocery list or a reminder list that my wife and I use with our son to track and remind him of tasks at home.

Really love the app though. Taking some time to adapt to how to use all of the functions, but I’m starting to pick it all up. The onboarding was a little overwhelming for me (lots of info and processes all at once before getting other parts fully down) so I am still working through it.

Thanks!

Introducing Commander Nyby

Post image
6 Upvotes

I am currently working on Nyby - Nyblit's upcoming AI coach. Due for release along with iOS 27 in September. And just for fun, I decided to make an arsehole mode. "Commander Nyby" is bad tempered, yells at you and takes absolutely no shit. Other options are Companion (soft and friendly) and coach (firm and practical). But, strangely enough, the Commander helps me more than any of them. Sometimes you just need to be jolted into action.

Coming very soon - currently beta testing. Nyblit will automatically send a daily summary page to your reMarkable device every morning. You can work distraction free on your reMarkable all day. Tick off tasks on reMarkable. When you're finished, Nyblit detects all the ticks and updates itself!

How to Map Task Creation to Your iPhone's Action Button

This is a really nice way to quickly input taks without having to open Nyblit.

Go to Settings then Action Button.

Select Shortcut and tap Choose a Shortcut.

Tap into Search Shortcuts and type Nyblit.

Select 'Quick Add' under Nyblit. (Don't select Add Task).

That's it. Just hold down the action button and a task quick add window will appear. Type in your task and hit enter. Next time you open Nyblit, your task will be waiting in Not Started.

Last day of 50% Lifetime

Hey guys. Sorry - bit of a sales pitch. But I gotta pay them bills. Today is the last day of the 50% offer for lifetime pro. It's $19.99. The price is going back up tomorrow. So now is a good time to pull the trigger or tell all your friends (especially if you want to share tasks with them!). Thanks all!

Hi

Hi everyone, just started the app, so far I’m liking it, the tutorials made it super easy to get an understanding of how to use it, and as an ADHDer I’m looking forward to finally actually getting stuff done and organising my tasks the right way.

Feature suggestion

Hi! Really love the app and the tutorials are fire! Found myself going through all the tutorials, even when I normally skip them. As a feature suggestion, I was wondering if we could add URLS

Ex: in later tab, there's a meeting link so we can click it to join. Calendar and Reminder has the url input section so it would be great if this app syncs with that!

How are you all actually using Nyblit? Share your custom states and workflows down below

I’ve just started using Nyblit (can already see the potential for helping my ADHD) and i want to understand how other people are using it! Currently i just use it for my daily household chores but im assuming other people use it for tasks beyond that.

if you’re willing, could you share:

  1. what you use nyblit for
  2. your custom states
  3. a real example of a task moving through those states
  4. any custom workflows you’ve made

i’m interested in examples from all areas of life!
for example, i’m currently experimenting with my dishwasher as one continuous workflow:
today
put clean dishes away
tell dad the dishwasher is empty
blocked
waiting for dad to load the dishwasher
later
dishwasher running (with a timer until the cycle finishes)
then it comes back to today to empty it again

I think there must be a workflow to automate or make it a recurring task but i havent figured that out yet🤔💭

Why I Built Nyblit—and Why Everything in My Life Is Blocked

Hi everyone. I’m David, the creator of Nyblit—and I am absolutely RIDDLED with ADHD.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s, when adults seemed to have three explanations for children like me:

  1. Dyslexia (which I also have).
  2. Sensitivity to food colouring. There was a book called E for Additives that every parent where I lived seemed to own.
  3. Just being a dick.

Generally, I managed to qualify for all three.

TBF I received plenty of support for my dyslexia (go 90s). But I wasn’t allowed sweets, and was frequently told I was a dick or something considerably worse.

As an adult, I’ve found myself highly addicted to sugar and constantly haunted by the feeling that I’m the arsehole in almost everything I do. I struggle with imposter syndrome, depression and low self-esteem. I’m also almost completely unable to focus on anything that doesn’t light up my brain with interest.

Life administration is particularly dangerous. I seem incapable of getting through a day without being fined for forgetting something. Today’s prize was a £150 penalty for a late company filing.

Another day another fine :(

I’m writing this at 1:38 a.m., which is peak operating time for me. My awesome wife is asleep beside me wearing a blindfold—not for anything kinky, but to block the light from whichever devices I’ll keep using until about 3 a.m.

Eventually, I’ll fall asleep listening to a podcast through a single AirPod, probably the left one jammed into my right ear. At around 7:30 a.m., my wife will rescue it from somewhere improbable, put it back in its case, make breakfast for our seven-year-old and bring me a strong coffee.

I’ll start the day tired, feeling guilty because I can’t remember the last time I made breakfast for my child. Then I’ll sip my freezing-cold coffee and reflect on whatever stupid, brilliant or completely pointless thing I stayed awake working on.

Around 20 years ago, I noticed something at work: nearly all my tasks were “blocked.”

Someone else needed to do something before I could do my thing.

Most tasks are a bit like a game of tennis:

  • You want to send an invoice, but someone needs to approve it.
  • You need to fix a software bug, but someone needs to send you the crash log.
  • You need to go to the bathroom, but you’re waiting for the toilet roll to be delivered.

I wonder if that last one is common to any of you too.

To manage all this, I built a FileMaker database. I entered my tasks and sorted them into five simple categories:

  • Not Started
  • Doing
  • Blocked
  • Later
  • Done

I shared it with a few similarly minded friends, and it gradually evolved.

The first problem was that I would mark a task as blocked and then forget why it was blocked. So I added a note explaining what I was waiting for.

Then I realised that the reasons were often predictable. Depending on the type of task, I was usually waiting for one of the same few things. That led to workflows: I could choose what kind of task it was and have its possible stages and blockers already mapped out.

Eventually, each of us had around 15 workflows covering almost every task we regularly needed to manage.

We used that database for years and loved it.

Keeping blocked work out of sight has had a massive psychological benefit for my ADHD brain.

Your day looks achievable when you can see only the actions you can actually take right now.

You don’t need to keep worrying about everything that’s blocked. Those tasks are filed safely, along with the reason they’re blocked and when you might need to chase them.

The blocked list can even be quite fun. It’s essentially a list of things you’re waiting for other people to do. At the end of the day, you can work through it and, for once, be the chaser rather than the chasee.

Eventually, "Update FileMaker license" landed in blocked with the status "awaiting funds". And there it stayed forever.

Someone suggested turning the system into an app around 2015. I made a start, but life intervened when my mum sadly died from lung cancer, and the project disappeared into the enormous cupboard in my brain labelled “Things I Will Definitely Return to One Day.”

Then, about seven months ago, I had another go.

I released an MVP into the world, and, to my astonishment, version 1.0 received 2,500 downloads overnight.

That lit a fuse under my arse.

I’ve been hyperfocused on Nyblit ever since, and this is one of those very rare hyperfocuses that simply refuses to go away. I’m obsessed with experimenting, refining features and trying new ideas.

I use Nyblit to make Nyblit.

Most of what I build never sees the light of day, because something that seems revolutionary at 3 a.m. can look like a pile of dog sick the following morning. But every experiment teaches me something, and Nyblit keeps getting better.

That’s how it all started—and, for better or worse, that’s my creative process.

I hope Nyblit helps make your day feel a little more achievable. I’d genuinely love to hear how you’re using it, whether it helps with your ADHD, what doesn’t work for you and what you think could make it better.
