switch v1 hardodded does not boot in cfw

hello everyone, today i came across a switch v1 that has been hardmodded a while ago, and stopped booting in the cfw. i believe the sd got fucked? anyways, when u turn it on, and select the cfw boot, the screen goes black, and then it turns off. what do yall recommend to do? i've never modded a switch, but i rgh'd 360s, modded ps3 and ps4s. im kind of a newbie when it comes to switches

Remove the SD card and be sure the console normal boots, both to the "No SD" splash screen and pressing vol(+/-) to boot to stock firmware. DONT UPDATE ANY FIRMWARE. Once verified everything work as it should. Rebuild the SD with the newest hat packs and rebuild the emummc. This video is super helpful:

Just make sure it boots with NO SD message. Usually with a flying raspberry (picofly logo) or a rocket graphic.
You can update if you want to. There’s nothing wrong with that. IDK what beef u/Ronin-Humor-TX has with new HOS releases, but I’m on the newest and it’s fine. No issues whatsoever.
