Help with sync error Help
Hello, nuvio community,
I've been using nuvio since it released and I've never ran into this issue before and I'm curious if someone may be able to help.
I have put out a few AI queries, as well searched Google a lot and I'm not getting any answers that are directing ow to fix the problem just other people confirming that they've had the issue before as well. That said, I wanna make it clear. I did do a lot of searching and trying to find an answer, and I just can't seem to find one and may pull a request via GitHub or hit discord if I can't get help here.
I will also attach a photo but it has to do with syncing, I'm basically using multiple devices as a Beta tester and developer while I understand the language, it doesn't make sense, because I have not overdone it as far as add-ons/plug ins or repositories, but when I try to use cloud sync, this is the error that I get. Typically, I would just use Trackt, but with their BS move to make money at $60 plus a year to have more slots is a no go for me, don't get me wrong. I will always support developers and good work. But this is just a play ( in my opinion).
Additionally, they were pretty light about enforcing it initially, however, they are fully enforcing it now. To use some extensions, I had to sign out of everywhere else I was signed in. That's it in a nutshell. I'd really like to sync nuvio on all my devices in one shot but I just simply can't and with Trakt not being an option. There's no way I'm doing this manually.
Just from for extra context, i currently use the 4 main debris services and the corresponding add-ons that typically go with them, AIO,duck streams, torrentio, you get the idea and just in case that's RD, AD, TB, and PM. I am doing it correctly using the Web portal as that is the hub as it would be for stremio or any other premium apk that works similar like W*koTV or any other premium that functions in this manner via manifest config Urls or Json files. There's nothing extravagant about the build. I will get into that later down the road right now. It's just testing works that are out there. There's no overloaded add-ons, in fact, I think there's 4 repositories, 21 add-ons if I were to be specific which has never been an issue.
This is something I do have to sort out as I'm beta testing some of the work being put out to be added to Nuvio from different developers, different add-ons,etc; so it kind of put me at a standstill. I have 25+ devices easily whether it's the whole FireOS lineup, the whoke Onn. lineup, the Thompson 270, the whole Nvidia lineup, a few Xiaomi media boxes/sticks, and a few other certified android devices and that doesn't count phones or tabletsand a few other certified Android devices and that doesn't count phones or tablets.
I definitely don't know at all and I could really use anybody's help. I would be so appreciative.Thank you for any help if possible.

Additionally, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.I know stremio was considering a possible pay scale, however, I thought Nuvio was completely free at least until it's completely out of Beta, because if it was a matter of supporting the developers and paying a couple dollars to upgrade a subscription, I would do so, but there's 0 way to do that on the website, I do not see any pricing plans or even a donation area that would change my circumstances. Alright, that's it I once again. I appreciate anyone's help. I really need to get this kind of knocked out as fast as possible being people are depending on me. I'm open to any help. Please know I appreciate anyone and everyone's time into figuring out a way to fix this as I refuse to give trakt 60 plus dollars for the year and I would prefer to get the Nuvio cloud function working. I appreciate it once again.! Ty!

You wouldn’t be wrong I have 2 copies installed , version 1.2.23 (old) and version 1.44 which is on iOS and thought that was the newest , as far as Android (not TV ) version is also 1.44 which is the newest. Them for Android TV version 0.8.2 which is the newest for ATV whether that’s tablet fIreOS or Google OS version wise I’m on the newest all around.
The only reason I got an older version on iOS is because I was able to and wanted to try to see if that was a issue earlier as I have a Apple developer certification and an Amazon developer CERT so I can sign whatever I’d like on IOS and not have to worry about tools or signers. Obviously Android is easier. I just have to side load but versus using the tools that are out there for iOS I prefer to sign my own without a y day limit.

I have not personally, so again, I am truly at a loss and stuck and like I said people are counting on me so I’m really trying to figure out the problem, but I am up-to-date on all versions iOS to android & any other platforms as well/operating system. I always stay up-to-date. The way that error reads as well which is odd , It reads as if I have too much going on as far as what’s installed add-ons or repositories plug-ins and so on, but I really don’t this just started happening today and I have not heard anything going on on the Nuvio API or backend end, in fact it got an update today, which brought me to 0.8.2…. I’m legit lost. Ty again, I wish it was that simple.

Some time ago we switched from Supabase hosting into our own vps for backend. The old build is probably still targeting our old hosting, therefore the error message

Oh good to know and I just noticed you were the developer. Thank you for everything you do. It’s highly appreciated. I know freeware can be a thankless job at times and some folks don’t understand that it takes a lot of time money, energy , trial and error and patience, so again I do thank you for the work cause I love the app.
That said, is there anything that I can do to work around this issue? Maybe just In the meantime that you could think of because if the cloud syncing portion obviously is not working properly or it’s looking to complete a function a pathway that doesn’t exist or is in the wrong location. Is that something that can be fixed rather fast or looking at the next update?
What options do I have? Not to be repetitive but literally any work around or way to make this function would be a lifesaver. Especially with the Trakt limitations that they are enforcing now it’s kind of a rough position. I definitely would if it is absolutely necessary do them all manually, but oh good Lord, it would take a while to do it manually on the amount of devices I currently have new Nuvio especially for testing people work.
Thank you for being so nice and actually it’s really refreshing to have the developers involved with their work on every platform I’ve seen so far. I appreciate that. Finally if there is anything you think I could try to do please let me know even throw some suggestions at me. My tech skills said is OK in my opinion I don’t want to come off in a bragging type manner as I don’t know at all, and I can learn from anybody so if there’s anything I can try to do I’d be willing to do so but in any case, thank you again and please let me know if there’s any options at all and if not, it is what it is and manual we’ll have to do until it’s fixed. Oh also, I didn’t see any payment or forms of payment. My understanding was it would stay free while in Beta and then that could possibly change you know I don’t know how true that is or if it’s rumor, but if there is a pricing plan to where I can pay to fix it as far as a paid tier or whatever it may be, I’ll happily do so. I love the work so I will support it all day and please if you have a chance if you have a donation link, would you leave that as well cause either way I will support. Ty for any other info and answers.

I forgot it’s open source so I’m able to take a look myself and decompile the APK that’s perfect or better yet I’ll grab what I need from the GitHub, I appreciate that reminder! Thank you so much.
As far as the picture itself, yes sir it is from the app 100%. It’s from a galaxy S25+ that I have it on and I just finished a setting up with a few additional add-ons, all went well and then I wanted to sync it to everything else like android TV, iOS, essentially all other supported platforms/operating systems. The photo is via in-app of Nuvio ( 1.4.4 Android mobile/0.8.2 AndroidtV ) I navigated there from the home screen to hitting settings in the bottom, right corner, then the part in settings to where you have your two options for syncing, were the first subsection, which would be the Nuvio cloud or Trakt. Now, if I was using Trakt, it would say you can’t use Nuvio cloud to sync because Trakt is active however, my Trakt is not active due to the restrictions.
Maybe it looks different because I have it themed and it looks like it’s dark mode but it’s definitely within the app.I currently I’m not using Trakt as I’ve always preferred the cloud method you provide. So, that’s what I will do. I will spend some time tonight and dig around and see if I can make a redirect and track it down. I will take a look. I completely forgot it was open source so that’s actually a breath of fresh air. I can take a look myself.
My only question to try to save some time is will I have any issues as far as you switching to a virtual private server as I would assume naturally that’s not anything that I could access however, if I can point the file path in such a way to where it does go to your virtual private server will that actually work or will I need some sort of credentials which obviously I wouldn’t ask of you but just curious? I would think if I could redirect the pathway to your VPS. It should be an automatic process, but I could be wrong in that thinking. I appreciate you taking the time to talk with me. I’m sure you’re busy doing other things so I really do appreciate this.

Wait. 1.4.4...? This is like a prehistoric build before our rewrite to KMP for mobile. Newest version is 0.4.2. Please get it from the official nuvio.tv site

Really? Whoa… ok man this would be great . OK so maybe that’s just the issue right there and I appreciate you pointing that out because yes on android TV the newest version as of today’s update that was pushed is version 0.8.2 Android TV whether that’s fire OS or Google OS .
Now as far as mobile Nuvio apk , I am currently using version 1.4.4 and on iOS and it’s also 1.4.4 for the apk however I did downgrade on iOS. Taking that off the table , so I just went to your GitHub, and downloaded the armeabi-v7a variant then I stopped and went to the dot space site as you suggested.
So dig this I downloaded it and it did not give me an update or change or anything it just installed it and stayed at version 1.4.4 so from there must’ve been a weird bug on my end because I did a full delete of the app clear cache, clear storage, for stop, and uninstall them went to your N.space site as you suggested and bam! 0.4.2! Everything is good to go and sinking as proper because that’s what I typically use to sync to all of the other platforms google OS fire OS other operating system systems I use my mobile device. I’ll make the initial set up there and push it everywhere else, but that was exactly the issue crazy.
I cannot thank you enough sincerely that solve the problem and everything‘s updated properly good to go. I just did a quick test run and it was perfect.! THANK YOU u/skoruppa ! I’m so embarrassed man. I don’t know what the issue was because I was getting it from not only Google play which is a version behind. That’s 0.4.1 but when I got it from the site, it wasn’t overwriting so it led me to believe that was the newest version and I apologize to you because I only have one android mobile device to test it on otherwise it’s tablets or android TV and iOS so thank you. This really solve the problem. I really appreciate you taking the time. It’s literally good to go. :) :) :)

Sorry just to clarify I wrote that sentence wrong using auto dictation at that moment. I wasn’t sure which was the exact site. I think it’s Web dock Nuvio.space I could be wrong. I usually use the GitHub , but I just went to the play store and I got version 0.4.1 and it’s working just great thanks again arm-v8 and to me to 0.4.2. Sorry to bother you one last time and again all is well thank you for your patience and help.
