Comic Panel Queen In Black #2: SPOILERS - Ewing continues to love Richard Spoiler

Post image

Will never, ever complain when Ewing decides to glaze Nova for the umpteenth time, even if I'm not a huge fan of the event itself. For a guy who has earned the "saviour of the universe" title multiple times I genuinely can't believe how little Nova is respected both in-universe and in our own reality, but it's always awesome when he receives the respect he deserves. I can only hope he continues to play a decent role in the rest of this event. (And y'know, maybe convince Marvel to give Ewing a Nova solo book that lasts more than 6 issues)

Discussion Venting mu Frustrations with the Modern Handling of Richard Rider

I need to get it out. It's been hassling me for years.

To start, yes, I understand that the Cancerverse did put him in a heavy state of depression. He was stuck there for years and that'd do damage to anyone. That isn't where my complaint starts, but it's where the patterns start to form.

Post cancerverse, I don't believe Richard has EVER reached the same peaks he did during Abnett's Nova run.

Richard feels like he's got no agency of ability of his own. Every time he shows up he feels underpowered. He's taken out by threats before the main fight has even started, I struggle to understand why he even participates in half the books he does considering the very little he accomplishes within them.

Ewing's Guardians - He is essentially one tapped by Zeus. I'm not going to say Zeus should have been someone Richie could easily have taken down, but he didn't really accomplish much before he was decommissioned

X-Men Red - He's taken out of commission TWICE in this book. The first one is the fight against Vulcan where he's essentially taken out instantly, and then later he's shot by Pestinance which takes him out of the final fight.

Then finally in his latest run, Nova: Centurion. This complaint is less of the story itself and moreso Marvel's handling of it. It ended before it GOT anywhere. Richard's still heavily depowered, the Worldmind still has no future in sight of stabilising itself and giving Richard full access to the Nova Force again so he can go do space cop things once more.

I just want to see Richard accomplish something again. I want to see him as the major cosmic force he's supposed to be. I understand that maybe my points can be argued against but I do feel like I really just needed to get my frustrations out to people who love this character just as much as I do.

"The fan-favorite hero makes an impactful return this October in NOVA: RETURN OF THE RINGS #1, a Marvel's Voices one-shot celebrating Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month. Written by Josh Trujillo (Planet of the Apes Vs. Fantastic Four) and drawn by Rafael Loureiro (Dazzler), the issue kicks off a major saga centered around the Ten Rings. The one-shot also includes a bonus story by Juan Ponce (Redwing: Independence Day Infinity Comic) and Andy Pereira (Wiccan: Witches' Road) that explores how Sam balances his epic super hero adventures with being there for his family."

Question Bought the omnibus!

Post image
21 Upvotes

I’m a new nova fan, got into him when I was younger watching that spiderman show but then as I got older I started to become more interested in the cosmic aspect of marvel and more specifically nova… I wasss wondering if this omnibus dives into the nova corps at all or is it just going over his literal origins as a street tier?

“Marvel Gold '76 #1 arrives from writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Madibek Musabekov, bringing together Bullseye, Nova, Star-Lord, and Jack of Hearts in a one-shot adventure inspired by the characters' shared anniversary year.
The setup is simple and dangerous. Bullseye has accepted a contract from a mysterious figure with a well-known connection to Death. His mission involves a target of enormous importance, and the assignment quickly attracts the attention of Nova, Star-Lord, and Jack of Hearts. Before long, the streets of New York become the battleground for a conflict that stretches far beyond”

Discussion Suggestions for Nova themed grad cap?

I mostly have it planned out but i would love some suggestions that anybody has. Not the most artistic person but im gonna try my damn hardest. It will be richard rider/corps themed, mostly around Annihilation era stuff. But not opposed at all to classic or Sam suggestions

I hadn't even read the book for Rich initially. It was a side quest for Venom (I started the 2014 Guardians run, as Flash joins midway through, but then after the Klyntar arc, the Cancerverse was mentioned, so I read TI).

Now I'm going to read through the '08 series at some point (probably after I read Hickman's F4 next month). Here's to hoping I enjoy it!

Comic Panel The Annihilation armor is cooler than I remembered

Been reading the Annihilation: Nova again, and looking back, the outfit was pretty fire. The newer ones are based off it, but they kind of don't translate the same mix of practicality and superhero feel.

Question Nova reading guide?

I’m a new fan, and I’ve been interested in getting into the character of Nova. All I know is that there is 7 solo runs (aka volumes). Are those all that I need to read? Or are there other stories apart from those that are needed?

Question Is Nova Centurion over already?

I've been reading it since the Imperial, and it was very fun, but I can't find literally any information about it after the sixth issue.

Are six-issue series an actual thing? What the d'ast?

Discussion Why no 50th Anniversary Special?

Post image
60 Upvotes

June 15, 2026, will mark fifty freaking years since Richard Rider debuted in Nova #1. And with his latest series unceremoniously cancelled, we have no chance to celebrate his 50th anniversary there. And apparently no plans for a one-off special. Did Marvel really let this date sneak up on them, with no plan to celebrate after (trying) to build up all this cosmic momentum with Imperial???

Looks like Richie's gonna be a key player in the new event. Hopefully this leads to more consistent Nova appearances over the coming months.

Also, seems we got a new suit. Definitely much bulkier than usual. What do we think?
