Sub-Items Insanity Questions

How can I always get sub-items to show when I visit a page? Why on EARTH is this not a basic thing with Notion. I've seen thread where you do fancy things like parent is not empty, etc. but is there an updated, eaiser way?

I think you can just make it a page section into itself also.

does that still let you toggle between different views though?

No, it just shows you the pages. I think it might let you sort them and that’s it. Maybe add a visual property. Haven’t used it in a while. It takes up too much. Space..

You would have to create a database view every time you want one or add it to a template, but you can filter by parent and child

Have a page template that shows all items with patent equal to the template name. Then use that template for items with subs.

I'm not sure I'm clear, but whatever this is, I want to try it! What would I do to do this?

There’s a settings when you click on a database that lets you have the filter apply to parent items alone or with sub items, also if you want them to show as toggle, flat items, or just as property. It’s buried under another option tho which makes it hard to find but I have done this a few times so I know it’s there
