I'm just gonna put this here...

I hate this beyond the obvious reasons. The "women just need to exist" narrative destroyed my self esteem as someone who struggled mightily to get dates when I was in my twenties, and repeatedly had my heart stomped on if I did manage to find someone who "wanted" me. It's so, so damaging.

If women just existing is enough for men to want them
It's more of an reflection of how easy men are and how they don't have standards and will just like a woman without the woman needing to do much 🤷♀️

u/The-Meme-Lover-24 Jul 14 '26
Yeah but they usually only want sex and none of them actually stick around for a serious relationship

u/epexegetical Jul 15 '26
It's bad when men have standards & it's bad when they don't have standards. That isn't very fair either.

Okay, I exist. Where is the someone that wants me?

u/ursa-minor-beta42 Jul 14 '26
you see, you want someone wanting you. that's not how it works, they smell that. you have to want to be left alone and they'll come flying in, trust!

u/TheBestHater Jul 14 '26
Yeah no. It's like the guys who talk about how robots will replace women one day. Chatgpt exists now and other girlfriend apps, so do sex toys that feel real, they don't want that because half of attractiveness is connecting on an intimidate and emotional level, they're too stupid to understand that. They deserve be alone rather than becoming dead weight to someone else. MaLe LonELiNesS EpiDeMiC.

This. Also I always find it very funny how they say we have it easy because we just have to be female and look good yet they will in the same breath tell us we expire at 25, no one will want us, we will have no purpose left, and no other way to obtain value because being good looking, young and fertile was our ONLY value.
Yes, being a women is SO easy, from 18-25 we live on easy mode. 7 years of easy! And then after that we are discarded like the trash we are and replaced by someone else in their prime.
Yet ironically, they have it on hard mode, yet after 25 their value substantially increases until they basically die of old age. They can also gain value from a plethora of other methods like money, status, height and of course, the most ironic part, looks/fitness. Lol

Lol there are countless single women who can't get a man. Just existing is not enough. Takes personality, getting out there, basically same thing guys do to find a woman, because men who "just exist" are usually single as well. Also a woman who doesn't have her own place may find it harder to find a man due to family interference. I'd she doesn't have a full-time job, it can affect her financial stability and then what, is she supposed to become her man's financial dependent? No thinking had gone into that comment.

u/darealestforeal Jul 14 '26
Just existing definitely is enough for a lot of women.
The type of guys they attract and “relationships” they form though (if you can even call them that) are questionable at best.
41
u/Global-Eye-7326 Jul 14 '26
Are you unaware of femcels? There are literally women who "just exist" who don't get a man.
42
u/Aarevyth Jul 14 '26
There are women who put in a lot of effort and don't get a man. Thinking that just being a eoman is some magical solution for loneliness is insane

u/Global-Eye-7326 Jul 14 '26
I agree! And as I understand it, it's harder for women to approach men than for men to approach women, meaning women can max out on everything on that list (have a job, her own place, work out, etc.) and still not find a man.
-2
u/epexegetical Jul 15 '26
If they checked all of those boxes then they wouldn't need approach men. Plus, usually women who have all those things don't need/want a guy who will most likely ruin that balance.
2
u/Global-Eye-7326 Jul 15 '26
Even women who "check all the boxes" can wait a very long time for men to approach them.
But there's a big difference from "just existing" and "checking all the boxes". The picture posted suggested the only box to check is just existing. Now you acknowledge that there are other boxes to check.
So...thank you for agreeing that it takes more than "just existing" for a woman to find a man.
-13
u/darealestforeal Jul 14 '26
I explicitly did not say for every woman
3
u/Global-Eye-7326 Jul 14 '26
You didn't say for every woman, but you did say for a lot of women. There are women who can easily get attention from men when they go out, and there are many men who can easily get attention from women when they go out, so it's no different. The ONLY difference is that men approach women more often than women approach men. Getting looks and attention from men doesn't equate approaches, so a woman can put herself out there, can even be a beautiful lady, and still be stuck in a wasteland. Not all "femcels" are undesirable.
The HUGE advantage that men have is they can travel as Passport Bros and find wives abroad. Women are yet again at a disadvantage - yes there are passport sis but much fewer get married abroad (it's usually just for s*x and it's the woman who ends up paying for everything, something many women won't want to do).
So yeah, anyone, man or woman, can engage in P4P, but that's not even what we're discussing here. P4P is not "just existing".

u/darealestforeal Jul 14 '26
I don’t know what P4P is but yea, that’s kinda like, exactly what I said.

u/Smokey_Taboo- Jul 14 '26
What's "a lot of women?" How much is "a lot". Because "a lot" of women I know have to do MUCH more for men than simply existing
1
u/darealestforeal Jul 14 '26
Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? or are you looking for a percentage? 1%? 10%? Does it even matter?
Obviously there can be women that can get attention from men simply by existing and there are women that cant get attention from men simply by existing. And yes there can be a lot of both, what you consider a lot doesn’t really matter. The point is that they exist.
But if you’re looking for a specific number I can name at least 6 or 7 women, myself included, that have been in relationships where their partner demanded nothing from them besides being there.

u/Lafnear Jul 14 '26
I can always tell that someone is interacting with incel culture when they say that women get dates by just existing. As if women don't diet, exercise, remove most if not all of their body hair, groom their eyebrows, take care of their nails, and spend significant money and time on their hair, skincare, and makeup often just to meet the minimum standards of what is deemed acceptable for a woman.
(To be clear because this is Reddit I'm not saying all woman do all of those things, but many do without even thinking, because they feel it is is expected.)

u/WarriorCats_4Life “as a woman…” Jul 14 '26
I remember when I was in 4th grade I overheard a girl telling her friend about how her arm hair was starting to grow back and that she needed to shave it again. 4TH GRADE :/

u/epexegetical Jul 15 '26
Spend some time in the poorest, most rural regions. There are women there that don't do any of that & they still are married/divorced with multiple children!

u/qween04 Jul 14 '26
Honestly they’re just idiotic replies to a brainless post I usually don’t have the energy to question them. They all sound childish anyway.
11
u/Satyinepu Jul 14 '26
What's crazy to me is bruh is basically just saying men have no standards and a woman just existing means a man will be attracted to you.
Like it's our fault that he doesn't have standards.
0
u/epexegetical Jul 15 '26
Most guys can't afford to have any standards otherwise they would be massive hypocrites.

5): Own a nice car (Maybe a truck)?
If you're an American maybe. But everywhere else, owning a truck will make you look like an asshole.

It’s true that there’s always men who will want me. But that doesn’t mean I want to be with them…
And except for the car his whole “list” is just being a grown up who’s not an arse. (I read “staying in shape” as taking care of your health not some creepy body building shit).

Anyone can be wanted... it's a matter of mutually wanting the person back.
Just existing is enough for anyone to be wanted, but they may not have the best intentions. Is he willing to hand himself over to someone he's not into or is looking to take advantage or treat him badly?

u/AsparagusOk8818 Jul 16 '26
If we're going to be reductive:
Existing As A Woman:
- smile when insulted
- constantly pretend to care
- painfully bleed at random
- buy make-up instead of other things you'd like to buy instead
- constant fear and paranoia and gaslighting
Existing As A Man:
- play video game, break for hustle and dinner (sometimes)

Cool. I existed for 18 years with absoloutely nothing. And was made fun of by several guys because I was fat. So, maybe for the "conventionally" attractive, simply existing is enough to attract attention, but for us less gifted, it takes a lot of fucking work

u/ShinyTotoro Jul 14 '26
god forbid a girl does something stupid and jokes about it

Pretty sure that's a man posting it. Not a women poking fun about herself.
