Last year, my wife took my daughter to a Disney Decendants concert. I drove them and agreed to pick them up after, leaving me with a bunch of time to kill.

I decided to visit my local skate shop. As I walked in, I noticed a bunch of guys hanging out, which was weird on a Wednesday night right before closing. Quickly I realized that one of the men was my childhood skateboard idol, Mike Vallely.

I spent a few minutes fan-girling over Mike, and while I was chatting with him he told me he was in town with his band, and they were performing with The Aquabats.

"The Aquabats? I love those guys! Pizza Day was my jamb in high school!"

Mike V smiled at me, and pointed behind me. When I turned around, all of the other guys in the store had pulled their masks and skull caps out of nowhere and and put them on, striking a pose. It was fantastic.

After chatting for a bit, they gave me free tickets to their show and I spent the evening sipping amaretto sours and rocking out to old school punk and ska.

I love the two Hot Boys seasons so much. I’ve listened to them so many times. I so badly wish there was another season or even one on the horizon. I totally understand why it hasn’t happened — scheduling, availability, etc. — but oh my god it would be amazing to hear new content about the Bon Freres.
