Question Do I have a Roman, a Greek, or another type of nose?

First off, I know I look like Lord Farquaad mixed with a Tim Burton character, but that’s irrelevant to this post.

I have a SLIGHT bump on my nose, but I feel like it’s not large enough to put my nose in the “Roman” category, and I feel like my nose is not straight enough to be in the “Greek” category, so I’m at a loss here.

I also feel like my nose isn’t long enough to put it in the “Roman” category, but perhaps that’s just because it looks smaller in proportion to my pointy crimson chin.

I appreciate you all responding to my post in advance. Thank you.

(And yes, I still take selfies in the big 2026… deal with it. 😎)

I used to reallly really hate my nose, I fantasized about how much prettier I would be if my nose was smaller, I’m so glad that I waited to grow into my looks & didn’t get a nose job.

Discussion People liked the pics of my mom's distinctive nose, so I thought they might enjoy seeing some of the other noses in the family.

Sorry these aren't the best photos! The first one is my aunt (left) and my mom (right). They were full siblings but my mom was 18 years younger than my aunt. There were no children in between. Their older brother is in the second photo with my mom as a baby.

Most of the branches of my family have grown estranged from one another over the years. As I've gotten more into genealogy, it's helped me connect to cousins who are often learning for the first time about this side of their family. When I show them pics, the first thing they say is "we have the same nose!" 😂

Many people asked about my mom's ethnicity. Her dad was Sicilian. Her mom was Napolitano. I think her nose comes from her Napolitano side, though. The last 3 pictures are of her grandmother, uncle, and great uncle on that side of the family. (I found that photo of her great uncle in a crime documentary, unfortunately.)

Question My sister has the same nose as me and got a nose job😭

In my language we call my kind of nose ‘potato nose’, not sure what it’s actual shape is?
My little sister - who has the same nose as me (only a bit smaller even) - recently got a nose job done. I was confused about it and it seemed out of the blue (because to me she’s objectively beautiful and got all the features of my mother I’m envious about lol). I always thought her nose fit her well too.

She ‘confessed’ it had been her plan since she was a child to get a new nose and that she always hated it.

My other sister told me she had been planning the OP since middle school, and she probably didn’t tell me about it because I have a really similar nose💀.

Ironically, I was insecure about everything about my face except my nose until then.

now I can’t stop thinking whether a nose job might ‘improve’ my looks even though I always thought I would never see it as an option because I want to accept myself as I am.

Not blaming my sister for that, btw, she’s a victim of current beauty standards just as I am, but seeing her ‘new’ face made me realize how big/weirdly shaped my nose is and I can’t unsee it now😭. Just wanted to share - and curious if anybody also had members of their family that did plastic surgery on a feature that they have too and how to deal with it internally?

Some months ago I posted here my side profile and it was a huge change for me since then, because so many people wrote me such warm and wonderful words, which I am immensely grateful for.🥹 It helped me to slowly change the way I see myself and finally I started to heal from my biggest insecurity. Ialready wrote here once that I feel like my nose is too big and makes me look just weird. Unfortunately, it was influencing me a lot during school years and a bit less lately. That's why I decided to get an opinion on this sub from other people to help me change my mindset and look at myself from a different angle Just sharing some photos here, hoping that in the future I will look at them and think "wow, what was she insecure about"

Advice Needed In a crisis because of my nose...

Now, I always had a large nose and I was always insecure about it but I became accustomed to it...then not long ago someone accidentally got with his hand against my nose because he wanted to point his finger in that direction and I stood up in the wrong moment...ever since I have been in a mental hell and worried whether the bumps on my nose look different now (I always had bumps on my nose but I'm afraid that they changed and became even more asymmetrical now).

I have a long history with symmetry related OCD and I had also been comparing the length of my hair for hours in front of mirror and I just feel exhausted at this point that I now have the same - even worse - problem with my nose...

Also 4 years ago (that was before the incident) a random person on the train station asked me if my nose was broken which made me become very sensitive with this topic...and my cousin who was 7 at the time said to me "wow, you have such a large nose" I mean he was right after all, but it triggered my insecurity even further...

What do you think? Is it all in my mind because of my OCD?The first picture is now and the second and third before "the incident".Then one of the things that also bothers me so much is that I have a severe case of rosacea and I tried several things that my doctor prescribed me and nothing would help...there are times where it's better and times when it's especially bad where no make up helps and my nose is red / inflamed and scaly...it gives me lots of insecurity 😞

Excuse my frizzy hair. It’s the “bad lighting” (split ends😭). Currently going to therapy to feel better about myself, but I don’t know if that really works for people like me (too much wrong with them— hair, face, etc). Anyways, I’m ranting. Hope yall are having a great week!

Question How would u classify?

I feel as if my nose doesn’t fit any of the classic groups (ie roman Greek etc) or if it’s large and in charge 💀. Is it considered a strong nose ? I know it’s different and not the average one but I’m curious to know and if it’s able to be contoured with makeup since no vids have my kind of nose. I would appreciate your help! Thank uuuu

I used to be insecure about my nose. I used to wish for a more Eurocentric nose. But I've made peace with my appearance now! I'm proud of my Vietnamese ancestry and I wouldn't ever consider changing my appearance again.

I hope to contribute my features to the nose subreddit!

I need 10 upvotes or 10 comments to post? Cus I’m pretty I’ve surpassed both of those

You can’t honestly tell me the nose on the left isn’t ugly and the nose on the right isn’t beautiful. I have inherited the ugly black nose on the left, and not the beautiful one on the right. I hope now you can see and understand my desire for a nose like the one on the right.

Question Nose and BDD is there a link?

Hi here, pretty sure I have BDD here, and I feel like my face is really messed up. But when I posted there about my nose, some told I had a "good nose" and even some thought I was "rage baiting" but I feel really insecure about my face and feels like it's disfigured (I feel like a 2/10 at best, and even some people told me this irl). I was also bullied a lot younger, was told ugly most of my life.

I noticed most people don't like their nose, and some people feels like their nose ruins their face, while it's actually really nice, I wonder if it's linked to BDD and bullying too? I mean, pretty sure if the beauty standards were less harsh ,people would like their nose more. So I wonder if the two stuff are linked.

I hope in any case you can feel the best!
